The Double Drop Buff Surviving The Endless Ocean novel Chapter 202

Emmett: [Leeanne, call me over.]

Leeanne: [No. I’m about to go to bed. You want to go exploring in the middle of the night?]

Emmett: [Well, not really. I just want to hang out on your boat for a bit.]

Emmett couldn’t get enough of Leeanne’s wooden boat.

It was way more comfortable than his own, and way prettier, too.

Leeann: [Then wait until tomorrow.]

Maeve was also tired and ready to call it a night. She definitely didn’t want anyone showing up and messing things up this

late.

Suddenly, Leeanne remembered something and quickly handed the diving light back to Callum. She’d taken down the Red Phosphorus Python earlier, so she already had her own diving light now.

Callum took the diving light, hesitated a bit, then said, [Leeanne, is it okay if I bring a few friends over?]

Leeanne: [What’s there to mind?]

Anyone could invite whoever they want. It was not like she owned the island.

That was how it went. When two groups landed on an island packed with resources and wild beasts, everyone started inviting their buddies, and the place turned into a party in no time.

Leeanne had made a ton of loot today, and with only a few hours left tomorrow, there wasn’t much else she could do

anyway.

Emmett was a total slacker. He’d probably sleep in until eight or nine in the morning, so there was no point calling him over

now.

But Gideon was a different story. He wasn’t much for sleeping. Since he was bored out of his mind, he wanted to come over and explore first.

Leeanne yawned, changed clothes, and hopped off the boat. She called Gideon over right there on the beach.

Once Gideon showed up, she nodded, headed back to the boat, and crashed for the night.

Leeanne slept soundly through the night, without a single dream.

The next morning, Leeanne woke up just before eight.

Maeve had made breakfast. After eating, Leeanne went to the mystical cherry grove to claim her daily reward.

[Today’s blessing from the mystical cherry grove. Fortune’s Favor! Remaining uses: 3.]

Fortune’s Favor again? Man, that’s lucky,Leeanne thought, a bit surprised.

Leeanne was stoked. Fortune’s Favor was an Advanced blessing. She never saw it in the early days, only later on.

And even then, it would show up once and then disappear for ages before making another appearance.

She thought Fortune’s Favor wouldn’t pop up again anytime soon, but to her surprise, she got blessed with it two days straight.

Leeanne thought. Talk about luck. What should I repair today? Ah, the soft whip!

Her soft whip broke during yesterday’s fight with the porcupine, which made things really inconvenient. Since she was heading out to explore today, she decided to repair it first and leave everything else for later.

She headed straight for the crafting table.

[Broken Soft Whip: This soft whip is completely unusable. You can repair it with Fortune’s Favor. Do you want to repair it?]

Yes!she shouted.

[Repair successful. You’ve obtained the Steel Spirit Serpent Whip.]

[Steel Spirit Serpent Whip: Can switch between flexible and rigid modes. A rare find among weapons. Rarity: Rare. Skill 1: Serpent’s Frenzy (rapidly lashes out at targets); Skill 2: WhiptoSpear (instantly hardens into a spear for a powerful strike).]

Seriously? This good?Leeanne couldn’t help but marvel.

Leeanne picked up the Steel Spirit Serpent Whip and examined it closely.

Now, the whip was nothing like before. The handle was a deep green, incredibly sturdy, while the whip itself was crimson with hints of white patterns, resembling a gorgeous serpent. It was long.

With a flick, it moved with a fluid grace, effortless to wield.

Leeanne was itching to try out her new whip, but the boat was too cramped for that. So, after gathering her gear, she and Little Blue climbed down onto the raft to find a better spot.

Snowy was still recovering, so she decided not to bring it along today.

Once they reached the island, Leeanne strolled ahead and spotted a huge tree.

The tree was thick and leafy.

She pulled out the Steel Serpent Whip and gave it a light swing. With a sharp crack, it snapped against the trunk.

The trunk shuddered, leaving a deep groove behind.

She swung the whip three times in a row, activating Serpent’s Frenzy. The Spirit Serpent Whip unleashed a flurry of strikes, smacking the trunk seven or eight times in rapid succession.

With a thunderous boom, the tree came crashing down.

[Gathering successful! You’ve obtained 10 Poplar Wood, added to your backpack.]

Leeanne was silent.

Pretty efficient, she mused.

But the Steel Spirit Serpent Whip wasn’t indestructible. No way she’d waste it just to chop down trees.

When she came across a big rock, Leeanne grabbed the Steel Serpent Whip and thrust it hard. In a flash, the whip straightened into a spear and pierced right through the stone with a loud bang.

With another thunderous crack, the rock shattered into fragments.

Leeanne was amazed at how the tip looked like a razorsharp dagger.

With a quick flick, the Steel Spirit Serpent Whip turned right back into a soft whip.

Leeanne gave the Steel Spirit Serpent Whip several tries, and after about half an hour, she finally got a pretty good feel for how it worked.

She stashed the Steel Spirit Serpent Whip, turned in a new direction, and continued on her way.

This time, she chose a different path, since she’d checked out the one ahead yesterday.

By eight o’clock, Gideon had summoned Emmett. Now the two were stirring things up in the Assault Squad group chat, bantering loudly and hunting beasts together.

Honestly, it was Emmett doing all the talking. He was the one making all the noise.

Leeanne sent Little Blue ahead to scout, while she took it easy, strolling along at her own pace.

If she wanted to gather herbs, this was the way to do it.

After Snowy got poisoned yesterday, Leeanne learned firsthand how important medicine could be.

She spent ages searching, but all she got were some wild veggies and berries, nothing useful at all. Sometimes, a few Tier 1 or

2 rabbits, bugs, or critters would show up, but she didn’t even bother with them.

She thought, They taste awful anyway, and never drop treasure chests. What’s the point? It’s just a waste of time.

After another half hour, Leeanne stopped in her tracks.

She must’ve taken a wrong turn. There was absolutely nothing here worth exploring.

Maybe I should try a different direction, she thought.

Just then, Emmett was shouting in the Assault Squad group chat. [Leeanne! Leeanne. Can you hear me? Get over here, quick. Hurry up!]

Leeanne: [What’s up?]

Emmett: [Come to me! There are gorgeous golden pheasants here. Tons of them, and all level three. They’re beautiful and tasty. Are you in or what?]

Leeanne: [On my way.]

She needed feathers for making arrows anyway, so bagging a few golden pheasants was way better than wandering around with nothing to show for it.

Emmett immediately added her to the team. She checked the map. Emmett wasn’t far, and if she hurried, she could make it there in just over twenty minutes.

As Leeanne ran toward Emmett, she suddenly remembered something.

She pinged William in the chat. [Are you on the island?]

William: [Yep, I’m here.]

Chapter 209

Lecanne had been planning to call him over, but since he was already on the island, she decided not to bring it up. There were already too many people here. Having him join might not even be worth it.

She took a moment to send William a breathing mask from her backpack and gave him some porcupine meat as well.

If it weren’t for William’s Speed Card, she never could have taken down that porcupine yesterday. She still hadn’t thanked him for it.

She had two breathing masks, so she gave one to William.

As she hurried along, Leeanne texted William: [Make sure Ryan cats as much porcupine meat as he can. It’ll boost his Constitution.]

William was genuinely touched. [Thanks.]

William was an honest guy. He always felt like people gave him way more than he gave back, and it made him feel awkward.

So whenever he found something rare, he’d immediately hand it over to Leeanne.

He always thought Leeanne’s gifts were way better than anything he could offer, so whenever he got something nice, Leeanne was always the first person he’d think of.

William was grateful to Leeanne, but he wasn’t much for sweet talk. So he kept his head down, exploring, hoping to find something Leeanne could actually use.

Leeanne didn’t see it that way at all. To her, William’s Speed Card was priceless. It could literally save one’s life.

Sure, one might find someone selling breathing masks in the trading hall, but Speed Cards? Forget it.

They were way too rare.

Soon enough, Leeanne met up with Emmett and Gideon.

Emmett’s eyes sparkled when he saw Leeanne. Come on, Leeanne. Over here. Watch this. I’m about to show you my

move.

killer

Saying that, he took off his boots.

Leeanne stared, baffled. Wait, what?
