Not far behind the raft, Leeanne spotted a section of the shark’s back bobbing up and down in the water.

Leeanne asked, “Can’t we just go around it?”

The Omni Radar replied, “Man–eating sharks detected ahead, left, and right! Evacuate quickly!”

‘Seriously? Surrounded on three sides again?‘ Leeanne fumed. ‘What kind of nightmare luck is this? No, it’s not just bad luck. This is next-level awful.

‘No way we can turn back now. If I hesitate for even a second, I’m definitely gonna be late!‘

The raft slowed for a moment, and the man–eating shark was already closing in. Leeanne checked its info. [Tier 4 Man- Eating Shark!]

Tier 4!‘ Leeanne’s heart dropped. “This thing’s way too strong. I might not even last against it by myself, and even if I somehow manage to kill it, it’ll take me at least half an hour. I’m definitely gonna be late. What should I do?‘

Emmett chimed in, [Yeah, seriously. Wait, where’s Leeanne? Did something hold her up, too?]

Leeanne replied, [I ran into a Tier 4 mutated great white shark, too!]

Someone suddenly shouted, [Hey, it’s Bailey and Gideon!]

Gideon said, [I can’t sing, so I’m out!]

Emmett grumbled, [Come on, Gideon, you can’t just bail because you can’t sing. What if the merman prince has a thing for off–key voices? You might be his type!]

Danelle added, [Honestly… I just got here myself and got hit by a storm too. I’m in sixth place, and stepping in as a backup never even crossed my mind.]

Valentine snorted, [Huh, Bailey!]

Bailey replied, [Don’t call me. This has nothing to do with me. I’m not that capable!]

Valentine shot back, [But what if you actually are?]

Bailey snapped, [Valentine, instead of whining and picking fights, why don’t you get over here quickly? Seriously, is that all you’ve got?]

Valentine sneered, [Oh, Bailey. Just wait!]

Leeanne frowned and closed the chat window.

She definitely suspected someone was pulling strings behind the scenes, but now wasn’t the time to get hung up on that. She needed to reach the Cloudship Song Gala as quickly as she could.

Getting there on time was the greatest revenge against the schemers.

This time, nothing was going to keep her away.

Leeanne gripped the Harpoon Launcher and the shark net tightly. “Time to see what these things can really do, she thought.

She couldn’t just run off and leave the raft behind. If the man–eating shark caught up to it, her home would be destroyed, and Maeve wouldn’t be able to handle it alone.

She had to make sure everything was safe here before she could leave.

She turned to the Omni Radar and said, “Once I jump in and hold off the man–eating shark, you get the raft out of here.”

She was about to take on the man–eating shark herself. If things got too dangerous and she couldn’t hold out, Maeve could always pull her back with a summon. If she couldn’t win, she’d bail.

After making sure Maeve was ready, Leeanne called out to Little Blue and Snowy, “Come on, let’s charge!”

Without hesitation, Leeanne dove into the water, taking the fight to the man–eating shark, while Little Blue and Snowy flanked her, ready to assist.

Leeanne had the shark net, but she had to injure the man–eating shark first. Otherwise, the net wouldn’t be able to trap a Tier 4 beast like this.

After all, these man–eating sharks were fierce as hell.

Leeanne moved through the water like a fish, firing the Harpoon Launcher again and again, leaving the shark’s body covered in wounds.
