Leeanne was startled. As expected, he really has had years of training. His archery skills are impressive, she thought.
She looked up and shouted at Little Blue, “Little Blue, fly! Mess with him.”
Little Blue scoffed, “Seriously? This guy? As if I’d be scared of him… Ouch!”
Five arrows shot toward it in quick succession, and Little Blue spun and tumbled through the air, squawking nonstop.
It managed to dodge without a scratch, but lost a few of its gorgeous feathers in the chaos.
“You mangy mutt! Useless trash! Stupid shorty! I’ll bite you to death,” Little Blue snapped, going absolutely wild and charging at Quinn like it had nothing to lose.
Little Blue had always been wild by nature, and this time, feeling wronged, it flew into an even greater frenzy.
Quinn hurriedly grabbed arrows from his quiver, backing away and dodging.
This time, however, Little Blue only made slight evasions to dodge the incoming arrows. For the most part, it was desperately lunging toward Quinn, scratching and clawing at him from all sides.
Before long, Little Blue was a total mess, feathers ruffled and flying everywhere as it flapped around in chaos.
Quinn looked even more miserable. His clothes were ripped to pieces, his face was a mess of scratches, and there were cuts and scrapes all over his arms and legs.
Worst of all, he was almost out of arrows.
The red–billed blue magpie swooped toward Quinn, screeching insults, “midget,” “good–for–nothing,” “ugly freak,” as it dove.
Quinn was about to lose it.
Hale, Jocelyn, and the others just stood there like statues, completely stunned by Little Blue’s wild, fearless attack. They even forgot to help Quinn out.
Leeanne, without a word, readied her bow, nocked three Arrows, and with three quick “whoosh,” sent them flying straight at Hale.
Jocelyn was the worst archer out of all of them, no threat at all.
Hale finally came to his senses and scrambled to dodge. He managed to avoid the first two arrows, but the third one skimmed right past his ear.
His ear stung, and when he touched it, his fingers came away with specks of blood.
“Jocelyn, do something!” Hale barked, nocking an arrow and shouting at Jocelyn as she stood frozen beside him.
Jocelyn jolted awake, finally grabbing her bow.
Leeanne darted forward, closing in on Jocelyn in a heartbeat. With a loud crack, her soft whip snapped, and the tip lashed right across Jocelyn’s face.
“No!” Jocelyn shrieked, dropping her bow and grabbing her face in terror. “My face! Oh god, my face is ruined!”
A bright red mark appeared on her cheek.

Jocelyn, who cared more about her looks than anything else, completely broke down after smearing blood on her face. Sobbing uncontrollably with tears and mucus streaming down, she screamed at Hale, “Hale, my face! Oh, my face!”
She was so utterly distraught that she completely forgot about the battle raging around her.
Leeanne sneered. She’d figured out long ago that Jocelyn was the weak link, no fighting skills, no stamina, and always acting all fragile.
That was exactly why Leeanne had targeted Jocelyn first.
Sure enough, Jocelyn was hopeless. Just a little scratch on her face, and she lost all her fighting spirit, dragging Hale down with her.
Jocelyn, still sobbing like crazy, rushed behind Hale, grabbing onto his shirt. In a trembling, desperate voice, she asked, “Hale, look at my face… Is it ruined? Can it be saved?”
Hale frowned. ‘She’s still freaking out about her face at a time like this? How utterly absurd to fret about looks when death is at the doorstep!‘
With three sharp “whoosh,” Leeanne let loose three arrows, each one zeroing in on Hale’s most vulnerable spots.
Hale was startled. There was no time for him to nock an arrow now, so he hastily dodged aside.
But Jocelyn was still standing behind him.
Jocelyn had only spent a few years on the archery team, and even then, she was always slacking off and barely trained.
After leaving the archery team, she spent most of her time shopping, doing her makeup, taking photos, and showing off on social media. She didn’t even go to the gym.
Her stamina was abysmal.
And with her mind completely on her face, she was frantically tugging at Hale, refusing to let go.
With his movements restricted, the first two arrows whistled right over Hale’s head, leaving him pale with fear. Frustrated and desperate, he shoved Jocelyn away with all his strength.
The third arrow came even faster, and Hale couldn’t dodge in time.
With a sharp ‘thud, the arrow sank deep into Hale’s left arm.
Hale sucked in a sharp breath. He winced in pain, his arm not only aching but also growing numb.
‘Oh, no! My arm is too badly hurt. I can’t shoot anymore, Hale thought, panic rising.
He shot Leeanne a look full of fear. He remembered Camelia saying Leeanne had only practiced archery for two or three days.
‘In just a few days, she’d already learned to fire three arrows in a row. What a natural talent! Hale thought, completely stunned. ‘I shouldn’t have listened to Jocelyn and messed with Leeanne.
Hale was fuming with hate.
Jocelyn was shoved to the ground by Hale. She froze for a moment, then burst into tears again. “Hale, now that my face is ruined, you don’t want me anymore? Boohoo!”

Hale shot her a look of pure disgust, then spun around and grabbed Camelia, shoving her in front of him as a shield. He shouted at Leeanne, who had her bow drawn and an arrow nocked, “Stop!”
Leeanne raised an eyebrow.
Not far away, Emmett was winking and gesturing at her.
Camelia’s expression was frosty. “Hale, let go of me!”
Hale kept a tight grip on her, his gaze fixed on Leeanne as he edged backward. “Leeanne, we don’t really have any bad blood. If you let me off, I’ll let Camelia go.”
Leeanne smirked, lifting her horn bow and nocking an Arrow, aiming right at Hale. “What if I don’t?”
Hale gritted his teeth. “Camelia taught you archery, didn’t she?”
Leeanne arched a brow, surprised. “She only taught me for a couple of days. How long did she teach you?”
Emmett let out a loud “tsk.” “Hale, I heard Camelia spent years teaching you archery. Is this how you repay her?”
Hale’s cheeks reddened for a second, but he quickly steeled himself. He yanked out an iron arrow and held the tip right to Camelia’s throat, snarling, “Back off, or I’ll kill her right here!”
Emmett sneered with contempt, “How ruthless! You’d even turn against your friend!”
Leeanne silently lifted her horn bow, and Hale instantly pressed the iron arrow harder against Camelia’s neck. Camelia winced, her brows furrowing in pain.
Leeanne arched her brow and called out, “Camelia!”
She released the arrow, and it streaked toward Hale like a bolt of lightning.
At that moment, Camelia, who’d been tied up, suddenly raised her hands. The ropes slipped right off. She leaned back, shot her left hand out, grabbed Hale’s wrist, and slammed it down hard.
Hale let out a startled cry, his grip loosening as the iron arrow slipped from his hand. In a flash, Camelia reached out and snatched it with her right hand.
She kept hold of his wrist. She twisted it backward before taking a few

back.
“Ouch!” Hale cried out as Camelia dragged him to stumble back a few steps.
Camelia’s right hand jabbed the iron arrow forward, stabbing it brutally into Hale’s right hand.
With a sharp “thud, the arrow sank deep into Hale’s palm.
“No!” Hale screamed, twisting in pain.
It all happened in a split second. Right then, Leeanne’s Arrow shot in.
With a sharp shunk, the Arrow stabbed straight into Hale’s right arm.
“Ah!” Hale cried out again, letting loose another scream.
His left arm was already injured, and now his right arm and hand were both hit. He was battered and bleeding, a total wreck.

Streams of blood started gushing from his hand and shoulder.
Camelia frowned in disgust and tossed Hale aside with a flick.
