As soon as she stepped inside, Gideon was already in action. His long blade whipped up a gust as he blocked four monkeys

at once.

Emmett was impressive, too. He started chucking bricks at the monkeys, one after another, with a satisfying thud, and surprisingly, it actually messed up their movements.

Leeanne thought, ‘With skills like that, why didn’t he just beat Hale and his crew up earlier?‘

Emmett spun around and hurriedly explained, “Gideon just gave these to me.”

Gideon, blocking a bunch of monkeys without breaking a sweat, remarked coolly, “Hmm, this is better than throwing daggers. There are dozens of them. You can’t run out.”

Leeanne drew her bow and fired at a monkey Gideon had already roughed up. She laughed, “Nice! Even if you lose a few, who cares? Unlike me, I have to hunt down every single arrow after a fight!”

‘It’s just bricks, she thought. ‘Just build a kiln, get some clay blocks, and you can make thousands a day. Why hold back on throwing them?

But where did these bricks come from? Were they self–made or found? Could there really be a brick kiln on this deserted island?‘

Leeanne kept firing arrows while voicing her doubt.

Emmett burst out laughing. “Where’d they come from? Gideon got them from chests, of course!

He took down two Tier 2 mutated beasts, grabbed the chests they were guarding, and bam, a whole chest packed with bricks! No joke, there were like a hundred bricks in there!”

You can actually get bricks from chests?” Leeanne blurted out, totally stunned.

Why have I never scored anything like that before?‘ she wondered. ‘Besides, weren’t the things guarded by beasts always weapon manuals and all kinds of rare, exotic fruits?‘

Emmett laughed even harder. “Bet you’ve never seen anything like this, huh? Gideon doesn’t just get bricks. He’s gotten five din clods, a whole pile of weeds, half a chunk of plastic, busted empty bottled water, rotten wood, scraps of paper…

Leeanne was even more stunned.

What even are these things? How come I’ve never seen any of that before?‘ she wondered.

Emmett chucked another brick, glanced at Leeanne’s dumbfounded face, and kept going. “Never seen any of that, right Gideon can find all that junk in a chest, and honestly, that’s all he ever gets!” With that, he burst out laughing

He was laughing like a lunatic. “He can’t even get a single whole bottle of bottled water.”

Leeanne fired off an arrow, and suddenly realized.

So, Gideon’s luck is in a league of its own, she thought. ‘Nobody could be unluckier than him. That’s some next–level bad luck. How poor! How did he even make it through the early days of Survival on the Seas?

Emmett said smugly. “He’s always counted on me to open the chests for him! He then laughed out loud again.

Just then, a monkey lunged at Emmett. Leeanne quickly fired an arrow, nailing it right in the head. Emmett grabbed a brick and gave it another whack.

The monkey’s eyes went blank, and it dropped dead.

With Gideon around, the fight was way easier.

He held off the monkeys with ease, while Leeanne’s arrows flew true, never missing their mark. Soon, the monkeys scattered in panic.

These were all points up for grabs. There was no way the three of them were letting that slip. They rushed in for the kill, making sure to snag every last point.

Soon afterward, several monkeys dropped dead one after another.

Leeanne took out two, Gideon got three, and Emmett finished off the last one with a brick.

Everyone walked away with something.

There were six pumpkins. Leeanne and Emmett each took three. As for the bananas, there were eight bunches. Leeanne grabbed four, and the other four went to Emmett and Gideon.

Emmett and Gideon were a team, so whatever they did with their share was none of Leeanne’s business.

After dividing up the loot, Leeanne dug up three banana trees and stowed them in her backpack.

Then she suddenly remembered something and reached out to Emmett. “Hey, what about the oat seeds?”

‘You still remember that?” Emmett’s eyes went wide. “Come on, we just teamed up and took down those monkeys. Doesn’t that make us friends?”

‘Even real brothers need to keep careful accounts, don’t they?” Leeanne gave Emmett a sidelong glance.

‘Alright, alright, here you go!” Emmett handed Leeanne a small cloth bag.

Leeanne opened it and took a look. Sure enough, they were oat seeds. This small amount of seeds could be used to sow quite a large area of land.

Leeanne looked pleased and stuffed the seeds into her backpack.

After handing over the oat seeds, Emmett wasn’t even a little upset. In fact, he was downright excited. “Hey, it’s noon! How about some grilled lamb skewers?

“I just scored the Grill, brought some metal skewers and salt, and Gideon took down a sheep earlier. Let’s eat together!

“Sure!” Leeanne was feeling hungry too.

Just now, the three of them worked together seamlessly. Gideon was efficient and got straight to work without any unnecessary chatter, while Emmett’s jokes and light–hearted banter added a lot of fun Leeanne was happy to join them

“Let’s go!” Emmett said, practically bouncing with excitement

Gideon didn’t object either.

The three of them stepped out of the dense forest and walked a short distance to the spot where Leeanne had just harvested wheat. Emmett pulled out the Grill and set out the charcoal

Meanwhile, Gideon was patiently threading the lamb onto skewers.

He was surprisingly skilled, working at lightning speed.

Leeanne was about to lend a hand, but Emmett waved her off. “Nah, we’ve done this a bunch. This is Gideon’s thing. He’s super quick, no need for you to jump in.”

Leeanne thought for a moment, then pulled out a basket of strawberries.

She figured she had to contribute something and couldn’t just freeload.

Gideon finished threading the lamb skewers in no time, and Emmett pulled out the salt to season them. Leeanne couldn’t help but feel a bit regretful. If she’d thought ahead, she would’ve brought some barbecue spices or seasoning.

‘Emmett really has a knack for living well, she thought. ‘Who says you can’t enjoy good food and drinks just because you’re on an island hunt?‘

Just then, Emmett showed off a string of bright red chilies. Leeanne’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Where’d you get those?”

“I saw them right when I first got to the island. Only two or three plants, and I picked them clean,” Emmett said, looking proud.

“Can I have a few?” Leeanne said, all excited. “Give me some, and from now on, I’ll be your chili supplier.”

Emmett nodded. “Alright, no problem!”

Leeanne took a few dried chilies and tucked them into her backpack, while Emmett turned the rest into chili powder.

Gideon lit the fire and started grilling the lamb skewers.

The mouthwatering aroma drifted through the air.

‘Baa baa…” A little lamb suddenly showed up right by the Grill.

It was fluffy and snow–white, small and adorable.

It was the very same lamb Leeanne had run into earlier.

“Hey, little lamb, you’re here?” Leeanne said, picking it up in her arms with a big grin.

Emmett’s eyes lit up when he spotted the lamb. “Wow, such a cute little lamb. So tender. Hey, why don’t we add roast lamb

to the menu?

Suddenly, the lamb sprang up, kicked out with its legs, and lowered its head, ramming Emmett right in his big belly

“Ouch!” Emmett was sent flying six feet, landed not far away, and rolled over several times.

Emmett got up, looking completely bewildered. Wait, what just happened?

After headbutting Emmett, the little lamb hopped right back into Leeanne’s arms.

Gideon glanced over, then calmly went back to grilling as if nothing had happened.

The little lamb gazed at him with big, shiny green eyes, looking cute as a button.

Emmett locked eyes with the lamb, then looked it up and down, its tiny body, snowy white wool, and those baby horns just starting to poke out. He was practically drooling again.

This time, he didn’t dare act rashly. He leaned over and whispered, “Leeanne, wanna roast it?”

Leeanne held the squirming lamb tight and shot him a sideways glance. “Roast what? Do you dare? You got a death wish or something?”

She looked down at the little lamb in her arms. Like Emmett, Leeanne was practically drooling at the sight of it, too.

The roast lamb was seriously delicious, and this little lamb was just impossibly tender.

But it was so adorable. Leeanne couldn’t bear to eat it.

“Here,” Gideon said, having already grilled up a mountain of lamb skewers.

The three of them dug in together.

Gideon must really love spicy food, because he added lots of chili. The three of them ate while gasping for air, desperately gulping down water between bites.

They were only halfway through their meal when a sweet little voice piped up, “Wow, that smells so good!”

Little Blue swooped down from the sky, landed right next to Leeanne, and nuzzled her with its neck, though its eyes were

ocked on the lamb skewers. “I want it. I wanna eat it!”

Leeanne was floored. “Eat it? Seriously? Is there anything you won’t eat? As a pretty little bird, why are you even interested in amb skewers?”

Aren’t birds supposed to eat seeds? Maybe some fruit or bugs, but since when do they go after grilled meat?‘ Leeanne wondered.

She patted it gently. “Be good, don’t eat this. It’s way too spicy, salty, and greasy for you. Trust me, you wouldn’t like it.”

Little Blue got unhappy. It stretched its neck out, insisting, “I want some. Lamb skewers!”

I knew the delicious aroma was coming from the lamb skewers.

Emmett’s eyes sparkled, “Hey, what a beautiful bird! Leeanne, come on, feed it! Feed it!”

Little Blue gave Emmett a smug look. “Fatso!”

Emmett’s smile froze. After a moment, he managed, “This bird… Well, it’s really pretty, but it’s got quite a mouth on it?”

If only it didn’t talk, it’d be so cute, Emmett thought.
