Leeanne bent down and scolded Little Blue, “How can you speak like that? Call him M–Mr. Swenson.”
‘Mr. Swenson?‘ Gideon’s mouth twitched.
Little Blue lifted his chin and shot Emmett a sideways glance. “Fatty Emmett!”
Emmett’s expression was back to normal. He grinned and handed over a lamb skewer. “Hey there!”
Leeanne took the skewer, planning to pull the meat off and feed it to Little Blue piece by piece. But Little Blue grabbed it in one swift move, pinned the skewer with a claw, and with a flick of his beak, tore off a chunk of lamb and ate it up.
Its movements went from clumsy to smooth, and it started eating faster and faster.
After polishing off three skewers in a row, it wiped its claws and beak, then stood on a nearby rock, looking completely satisfied.
Just then, the little lamb in Leeanne’s arms poked its head out.
Leeanne glanced at the little lamb and then at the lamb skewer in her hand, unsure whether she should feed it or not.
This lamb isn’t just any animal. Maybe it’s a magical beast like Little Blue. Does it want the taste of this lamb skewer too? But it’s lamb on a stick. Would it even eat something like that?‘ she wondered.
The lamb wriggled a bit more, halfway out now, its front hooves hooked onto Leeanne’s arm.
Its emerald–green eyes gazed adorably at everyone.
Seeing how adorable it was, Leeanne’s heart turned to mush.
Emmett was tempted again by how young and tender the lamb looked. He leaned in and whispered, “Leeanne, roasted lamb is seriously good. Wanna roast it?”
Little Blue had been watching the lamb the whole time. Now, it started flapping its wings excitedly and shouting, “Roast the lamb! Roast the lamb! Let’s eat it! Let’s eat it!”
Suddenly, the lamb jumped at Little Blue, lowered its head, and butted Little Blue in the stomach with its tiny horns.
Little Blue got knocked off the rock and tumbled down, but it quickly flapped its wings and shot back up, furious. “You little lamb punk! You little pest!”
Little Blue swiped at the lamb with its claws.
The lamb butted it again.
Leeanne quickly shouted, “Stop! Both of you, stop! Little Blue, stop!”
This was the first time Little Blue had ever gotten bested, so there was no way it was going to let it go. It pecked at the lamb
with its beak.
The lamb kicked off with all four hooves and jumped up again. Leeanne rushed over, scooped up the lamb with one arm, and grabbed Little Blue with the other,
She then snatched up a few strawberries. “Here, have some strawberries. Have some strawberries!

Thanks to Leeanne’s forceful intervention, Little Blue and the lamb begrudgingly separated, each sulking as they munched on their strawberries.
Of course, Leeanne mainly had to keep Little Blue under control. After all, it went absolutely nuts whenever it got into a fight.
The lamb was really docile. Once Leeanne held it still, it didn’t move at all, just looked up at her with those shimmering green eyes, all aggrieved.
Leeanne’s heart just melted for the little thing. She set Little Blue back on the rock, picked up the lamb, and carried it away for a bit.
She reached out and felt the lamb’s horns, and, thankfully, there wasn’t a scratch on them.
Emmett was dumbfounded. “This little lamb is actually that fierce?”
He’d seen what Little Blue could do. This was the legendary bird that had taken down Quinn, an expert archer, with its extraordinary power far beyond that of an ordinary person. Yet this little lamb was actually holding its own against it in a fight.
He’d thought getting knocked over by the lamb earlier was just a fluke.
But now, it was obvious the lamb had been holding back.
Emmett felt a chill run down his spine. He didn’t even want to think about roasting that lamb anymore.
Not only that, he even flatteringly picked up a lamb skewer and brought it to the little lamb’s mouth, saying, “Little lamb, want a little skewer?”
Leeanne clutched the lamb close, afraid it might butt Emmett again.
The lamb just turned its face away and buried its head in Leeanne’s arms.
Then it hit Emmett. His face went pale, and he quickly pulled the skewer back.
What a sin! This might be the little lamb’s brother, sister, or even its parents,‘ Emmett thought, feeling guilty
Finally, things settled down, and Leeanne let out a sigh of relief.
She was pretty much done eating, so she got up to say her goodbyes. She needed to go meet up with Rodger and the others.
Little Blue fluttered over, sticking close to Leeanne and chirping, “Let me eat it. If I eat the lamb, I’ll get bigger…
“Wait, what? Leeanne blinked, not quite getting it. What does it mean?‘
Little Blue pouted, “I wanna grow up! Please!”
Leeanne gave the lamb a gentle pat and shot Little Blue a sideways look. “No way you’re eating it.”
She was starting to get the picture.
She thought, ‘If a little lamb can fight this fiercely, it must be quite remarkable.
‘Maybe its meat is super nutritious, and if Little Blue ate it, it could level up, like those legendary beasts whose mear helps

Leeanne really wanted Little Blue to level up, but this lamb was just too cute, and she couldn’t bring herself to let Little Blue eat it.
Little Blue whined and fussed, and Leeanne sighed helplessly. “I’ll figure out a way to help you grow up, but you can’t eat this lamb. It’s way too cute, so no eating it, do you understand?”
The lamb nuzzled Leeanne affectionately with its nose.
Leeanne could feel how happy it was.
She rubbed its little horns. ‘What a cutie!‘ she thought.
Seeing Leeanne holding the lamb so close, Little Blue snorted, “Suck–up!” Then it shot up into the sky, flying ahead to scout the way on its own.
The lamb was barely bigger than a Chihuahua and weighed next to nothing, so Leeanne carried it easily as they walked for over half an hour.
Leeanne was starting to feel a bit tired, so she sat down on a rock to rest. She set the lamb down and let it munch on some
strawberries.
With nothing else to do, she opened up the Local Chat channel, and the vibe was downright miserable.
“Why do we even have to do this island hunt? I’m so scared, and I want to go back. I’d rather starve on my raft than deal with this.”
‘So many people have formed assault squads, and they’re just killing anyone they see. It’s freaking scary. I’m hiding in the woods, not even daring to move.”
‘Do they even have a conscience? Why are they just killing people out of nowhere?”
‘Are you stupid or what? Kill someone, you get loot and points, so who wouldn’t? This is a survival world now, so come on. get smart!”
‘So being ruthless is what you call smart?”
Leeanne let out a soft sigh.
She just couldn’t go around killing people, even if it meant getting loot or racking up points for rewards.
You don’t have to kill to get rewards,‘ she thought. “There are tons of other ways!
She glanced at the other members of the Assault Squad. Like her, they were picking up supplies as they headed this way, taking their time and not in any rush.
Danelle was the closest to the meeting point.
HO
After resting for a bit, Leeanne got up and continued on her way. Little Blue was acting as her personal scout, flying ahead and then coming back every so often to report what lay ahead.
Maybe because the island was just so massive, Leeanne never encountered any hunting squad.
As she walked down the hillside, Leeanne spotted several beautiful purple wildflowers by the edge of the woods not far away
A thought struck her. ‘I should totally dig them up and plant them in the mystical cherry grove

The mystical cherry grove was such a great place. She wasn’t just planning to grow crops. She wanted to add some flowers. too, to make her house or raft look nice later.
With that in mind, Leeanne changed direction and headed toward the woods.
She was just about to dig up a purple wildflower when she was interrupted by a loud shout, “You killed someone! I can’t believe you actually killed someone.”
It was a girl’s voice, strangely familiar.
Leeanne froze for a moment.
‘Have I stumbled upon a hunting squad’s killing scene?‘ she wondered.
The girl’s voice rang out again, shaking with fury. “You didn’t just kill someone. You even attacked your own teammate. Wow, just wow! You guys are unbelievable!”
Leeanne finally recognized that the voice was Jessica’s.
She headed toward the voice and spotted four figures up ahead.
Leeanne slipped behind a big tree, peeking out to see what was going on.
The four people were divided into two groups of two, facing off against each other. From her vantage point, Leeanne could see the profiles of the four.
Sure enough, one of them was Jessica.
Jessica was in a camouflage outfit, layered with a leather vest, and wearing a pair of leather boots. In her hand, she held a slender, curved blade, so fine and sharp that it was immediately apparent that it was no ordinary, Common–grade weapon.
Leeanne nodded to herself, thinking, ‘Jessica always has good luck. Her gear is always better and more complete than most folks‘.
Standing next to Jessica was a young guy, probably just a bit over twenty. He had wide eyes and a baby face. Honestly, he was pretty cute.
He almost looked more like a kid than a grown man, thanks to that boyish vibe.
Across from them were another guy and a girl, both seriously good–looking. The man had dyed his hair blond, while the woman had fiery red hair, One of them held a short sword, and the other a simple wooden stick, both eyeing Jessica menacingly.
Three bodies lay on the ground, still bleeding. They looked like they’d only just died.
Jessica was furious, her chest rising and falling as she pointed at the bodies. “Why did you have to kill your own teammates? We promised to hunt beasts together, not kill each other.”
The blond–haired guy on the opposite side sneered, “So, you let go of the hunting squad that was about to kill us, huh? Don’t you know that by killing them, we could have claimed all their supplies?”
Jessica shot back, her voice shaking with anger, “If we did that, how would we be any different from them!
The red–haired girl scoffed, “Jessica, you’re such an idiot! Let’s make this clear, we’re done with your
Jessica gritted her teeth. “But that doesn’t mean you should kill your own teammates.
