The Double Drop Buff Surviving The Endless Ocean novel Chapter 96

Chapter 96

This sheep is actually pretty cute, Leeanne thought.

BaaSnowy bleated, nudging Leeanne.

Baathe floppyeared white sheep bleated again.

To voor there

Leeanne had no idea what this sheep was called, and since the system didn’t provide any hints, she decided to name it FloppyEared Sheep.

FloppyEared Sheep took a few steps over to Leeanne and nudged her with its nose, too.

What does that mean? Leeanne wondered.

BaaSnowy suddenly broke free from Leeanne, leaped onto FloppyEared Sheep’s back, and then turned to bleat at Leeanne again.

Leeanne was taken aback for a moment, but then it hit her. She asked, Are you telling me to ride it?

BaaSnowy replied, even nodding its head.

Leeanne couldn’t help but smile. Not bad at all!she thought.

She’d ridden horses, donkeys, and even pigs when she was a kid, but she’d never ridden a sheep before.

Man, this is such a novelty! Leeanne thought.

She wrapped her arms around FloppyEared Sheep’s neck and swung herself up onto its back.

The sheep’s wool was soft, fine, and long, making it surprisingly comfortable to sit on.

Even without a saddle or anything like that, Leeanne didn’t feel the slightest discomfort.

Too bad there are no reins, Leeanne thought. She looped her arms around FloppyEared Sheep’s soft, floppy ears and hugged Snowy.

FloppyEared Sheep was incredibly docile, showing no resistance at all.

Of course, maybe it was just afraid of Snowy.

At first, Leeanne wondered if Floppy Eared Sheep was Snowy’s elder, but soon realized that wasn’t the case. It was obvious the sheep treated Snowy with respect, even a hint of fear.

It was more like the relationship between a servant and their master, a subordinate and their superior, or a minister and their sovereign.

Snowy isn’t just any lambLeeanne thought to herself.

She stroked Snowy, feeling secretly pleased. Maybe I’ve just gotten myself another divine beast, she thought

With FloppyEared Sheep, Leeanne didn’t have to walk anymore. It was way casier now.

FloppyEared Sheep was pretty fast, and Leeanne worried she might get dizzy, so she asked it to take it easy

Even so, the trip that should’ve taken two hours only took less than half an hour.

Leeanne arrived at the meeting spot.

When she got there, Rodger, Danelle, and William were already there.

They were sitting on tree stumps, chatting away.

Leeanne came racing up on FloppyEared Sheep, moving like the wind.

The three of them were dumbstruck.

After a long moment, Danelle finally stammered, Are youa sheepriding girl now?

Leeanne swung herself off FloppyEared Sheep.

Honestly, even though FloppyEared Sheep was fast, it was surprisingly steady.

Danelle and Rodger circled FloppyEared Sheep, checking it out from every angle.

Danelle exclaimed, Wow, this sheep is so white, so soft, and so clean! It’s really cute.

Rodger pulled on FloppyEared Sheep’s ear. Its ears are so long. And they’re so soft. It feels really nice.

Danelle rushed over to touch it too, amazed. Whoa, it’s so soft! And the wool is so long. If we cut it, could we make wool felt out of it?

FloppyEared Sheep just stood there, letting them poke and prod as much as they wanted.

But finally, it had enough and bleated, Baa!

At that moment, Snowy chimed in with a Baa!of its own.

FloppyEared Sheep let out a bleat, turned around, and scampered off with a quick patpatpatof its hooves.

Hey, why did it run off?Danelle said, sounding pretty bummed.

Leeanne glanced at Snowy, figuring Snowy must’ve sent FloppyEared Sheep away.

Eh, whatever, let it go, Leeanne thought. I’m about to gather supplies anyway, and I’ll be searching every inch I don’t need a sheep ride now!

Snowy peeked out her tiny head, and Danelle instantly caught sight of her. “Wow, it’s so cute. Is that a lamb It’s so small

Everyone spent a long time admiring Snowy, totally captivated by it.

After all, Snowy was just too adorable, with those stunning emeraldlike eyes that were simply captivating.

After messing around for a bit, Leeanne asked, No one else nearby, right?

Rodger nodded. Haven’t seen anyone so far.”

Leeanne said, Alright, let’s spread out and see if we can find anything good just stick to places within a halfhour walk. If anything comes up, drop a message in the group chat so we can help each other out if things get dicey, ask me for the

She still liked adventuring solo. Being in a group of four was just a waste of time for her.

Danelle, Rodger, and William all agreed. Since they weren’t out to kill anyone, they had to make every minute count and grab as many supplies as possible.

The four of them split up, each taking a different direction.

Leeanne marched straight ahead.

Unfortunately, after more than three hours of searching, all they found was just a bunch of wood and rocks, nothing else.

Leeanne finally got what a deserted island was all about. This place was seriously barren, and there wasn’t a single decent thing around.

I must’ve hit the jackpot before, getting those bananas, pumpkins, and wheat, she thought.

Later, they encountered hunting squads. Some of these squads would ambush them whenever they spotted a lone member.

Since the team members stayed close and were all skilled in combat, their usual strategy was to have one person hold off the attackers while the other three rushed to support. Together, they would then swiftly take down the hunting squad.

Over those three hours, they engaged in two waves of combat and eliminated numerous enemies.

By now, night had fallen, and the moon was rising. Under the moonlight, only faint silhouettes could be seen moving in the shadows.

Leeanne glanced at her watch. It was already 7 PM.

With the darkness making things tricky, most people stopped exploring, and the group chat started buzzing again.

What do I do now? It’s so dark. I’m too scared to move!someone said.

You guys, I’m curled up in a tree hole, not moving an inch. Can this island hunt end already? I wanna get back to my raft, boo hoo!another complained.

Come on, that’s just lame! If you’re not out hunting, at least chop some trees or something. How’d you even make n this far being such a scaredycat? someone teased in the chat.

Hey, that’s exactly how I survived, man! Playing it safe is my secret sauce!the first person replied, halfjoking.

Aha, what a wuss!another chimed in.

Oh, right, why don’t you check how many folks are still left in our zone, dude?the first person shot back

In the Assault Squad group chat, Rodger suddenly said. When we first started the island hunt, there were 71.021 people in our zone. Now there are only 62,090 left In just 10 hours, almost ten thousand people have died!

Danelle sighed. See? That’s how brutal the hunt really is.

Leeanne spoke in a low voice, her mood somber. I remember that at the end of the third day, there were 71.233 people in our zone. Before we landed on the island, it was 71,021 That means only about one or two hundred people died during that week.

But in just 10 hours, over 10,000 people had died

Maybe the island hunt was introduced because the player elimination was just too slow, Leeanne thought, falling silent

Who the hell designed this game?

He designed a gameplay mechanic where killing others yields loot, set up a killpoint leaderboard, and deliberately made the points from killing humans higher than those from slaying beasts, all just to watch humans slaughter each other, wasn’t it? Was it to force humanity to confront its own ugliness?

Danelle let out a startled scream. Ah! I’m being attacked. It’s a bat, no, a whole swarm of bats!

Rodger called out urgently, I’m on my way.

Since they were teamed up, even though they were spread out, they could track each other’s locations. Rodger rushed over immediately.

Meanwhile, William was in trouble too. He’d run into a leopard.

As for Leeanne, she came facetoface with a gigantic black ram. It was larger than an elephant, its two massive horns gleaming with a cold, menacing light.

One glance, and Leeanne knew this was definitely a bosslevel monster.

Its bulging, fierce eyes locked onto her, and it lowered its head, ready to charge straight at Leeanne.

At the same time, Leeanne heard a system alert. [Warning: Tier 2 Black Ram. Aggressive and badtempered. If you can’t handle it, bail!]

Tier 2, huh?Leeanne mused, not impressed. That’s nothing!

She pulled out her soft whip and snapped it through the air with a crisp crack.
