Karisma had dropped to the floor as the magic began to change around them once more. Sabrina tried to end it, but it was like something else was interfering with it. Now they were in a hut that was in the middle of the forest. A tall, thin man walking towards the door, holding three dead rabbits in his arms.
The door flew open, and a little girl who looked to be about six years old ran outside. “Daddy! Welcome home!” She called out. Alpha Philip and Luna Elsa went still as they looked at the young version of their daughter. The man smiled as he patted her head. “Hello, sweetheart. Were you a good girl for mommy?”
He asked.
The little girl beamed up at him. “Of course I was. I was mommy’s biggest helper.” The little girl started proudly. The man chuckled as he had no doubt that his daughter tried to help, but always ended up
making more work for him and his mate to do.
He picked his daughter up and settled her on his hip before walking inside with their dinner still in his
hands. “I’m home, Sally, and I got dinner.” He called out before setting Karisma down on the floor.
Everyone watched as a very pregnant woman came out of the back room. It was the same woman that they saw taking Karisma from the river. “Oh, Peter. I am so glad you made it home safely. I was worried when I heard some pack wolves nearby.” She said as she came over and hugged her mate.
Karisma came over and placed her hands on her mommy’s big tummy. “Mommy, how come we don’t live in a pack? Wouldn’t it be safer for us and my soon to be little brother?” She asked, her child like innocence
like a shield to how cruel the world could be.
Peter huffed a disagreement. He and his mate went rogue because he hates vampires, and his alpha mated a vampire. He could not swear loyalty to one who has to drink the blood of others. It disgusted him.
Sally gently pushed Karisma towards her room. “We will talk about it when you are older, my love. Go get washed up for dinner.” She said. Little Karisma nodded and then was out of sight. Sally turned towards her mate with a firm stare. “Peter, you can not push your opinions on her right now. What if her mate is a vampire? The world is changing.” Sally said.
She loved her mate, but if he knew that his children could be mated to vampires, then he would disown. them. She wanted to protect her children. “Vampires are disgusting creatures. They never should have been paired with us wolves.” Peter said, making sure his tone was firm, and Sally knew she could change his mind right now. All she could do was hope that one day that would change.
