Young Karisma woke up to her throat burning and gums tingling. Tossing and turning she couldn’t get comfortable. Feeling thirsty, she got up went out to the well outside. Grabbing the ladle that was on the
hook, young Karisma scooped up some water and sipped at it.
The cold water was doing nothing for her scorching throat. Young Karisma stared coughing like
something was stuck in her throat.
Sally came outside and saw her daughter by the well. “Sweetheart, it is late. Let’s get you back to bed.” Sally gasped as she looked into Karisma’s eyes. Bright red with tiny fangs poking out of her lips.
Sally quickly picked Karisma up and took her back inside. Hoping her mate would still be asleep… but Peter was standing in their living room, looking tired. “What is wrong, love?” He asked, rubbing his eyes to
focus on his mate and child.
Sally put her hand on the back of Karisma’s head and pushed her face into her neck. “It was nothing. The little one just needed some water and drank too fast. I am going to put her back to sleep.” She said, trying
to remain calm.
Peter went over and held his hands out for their daughter. His mate was pregnant and shouldn’t be carrying their child around the house. “I’ll take her.” he said. Sally pulled Karisma closer to her. “I got it, babe. You go back to bed.” she said, turning to go down the hall.
Karisma, not knowing she was to stay down, lifted her head to say good night to her dad. Peter froze at the sight of glowing red eyes. “WHAT THE HELL? WHY DOES SHE HAVE RED EYES?” He roared as he stomped over and ripped Karisma out of his mate’s arms.
Throwing Karisma to the ground, he snarled as he gripped his mate by the arm. He shook her as he yelled again. “Why does she have red eyes, Sally? She smells like a fucking leech.” he said as he sniffed the air
again.
Sally never knew that the pup she picked up from the river was a hybrid, but she still loved the little girl just as much as she did that day. She ripped her arm away from her mate and went over to Karisma, crying on the floor. “She is our daughter, Peter. She is just a child.” she told him.
Peter’s mind was going crazy. There was a time when he felt his mate’s pain before she was pregnant with Karisma. “Did you… Did you fucking cheat on me with a vampire, Sally?” He asked in confusion and rage. Sally went still. She knew that he had felt the pain from one of her miscarriages, as it was a difficult one, but she never would have thought he would come to that conclusion.
“I never once cheated on you, Peter. It is heartbreaking to know that you would think so low of me.” She growled. Peter scoffed. He was so upset that he wasn’t thinking straight about anything right now. That the

child that he and his mate had been raising was some bastard child from his mate’s infidelity. It made him
feel more pissed and sick to think that he had loved that thing for six years.
Turning, he went to their room where he kept the only silver dagger. It was in case they needed to protect
themselves from deranged rogues that lost their humanity, but he was going to use it to clean up his
mate’s mess.
‘Karisma is just a child. You can not do this!‘ his wolf, Patch, growled. Trying to get control of his human
before he harmed their pup. ‘That thing is not our pup, it is something that should never have been born.
Peter snarled at his wolf before blocking him.
Grabbing the dagger and going back out into the living area, Sally gasped and pushed Karisma behind her.
“PETER! What in the moon goddess‘ name are you doing with that?!” She screamed. Shielding her daughter with her body.
Karimsa was frightened. She had never once seen her daddy look at her with such hatred and disgust in
his eyes. “I am taking care of your mistake. Then we can go back to being a happy family once our real
child is born.” He said.
Sally kept her body between Karisma and her mate. He was not in the right headspace. Her wolf, Sonia, told her that Peter was going insane. Patch can not take control as Peter has blocked him.
Sally lunged for the dagger, trying to get it away from Peter as he came closer to her and Karisma. Karisma whimpered and cried as she saw her parents fighting over a weapon that smelled of danger.
Struggling for a few moments that felt like forever, Sally’s foot slipped on the small rug, and she felt a burning pain running through her body. Looking down, she and Peter saw that the dagger had gone through her body. It punctured her lung as she was now gasping for breath.
Peter and his wolf felt the pain of their mate bond breaking. As their mate bled out in their arms, Sally
looked over towards Karisma, her miracle child. Choking on her own blood, she managed to speak one word. “Run.” she said before the light left her eyes.
Peter went crazy. He got to his feet and paced back and forth as he clawed at his chest. Karisma was
scared beyond belief. Peter then dropped back down next to Sally’s body. Rage like no other consumed
him.
He grabbed the silver dagger and began to stab Sally’s body over and over again. When he started to growl out about how she could betray him, and how she could put an abomination before him and their real child.
Karisma just realized that her daddy had not only killed her mom, but her baby brother that was still in her stomach. She knew that she couldn’t stay. Her daddy is going to kill her next if she doesn’t move. She turned towards the doorway and ran. Ran as fast as her little legs could take her.
Karisma was running in the dark, not knowing where she was going. All she knew was that she had to get away from here. To get away from him.

Then she heard him roar.
“WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?! YOU LITTLE ABOMINATION!!!”
His roar echoed through the dark and once quiet forest.
Karisma kept blinking away tears and wiping her face over and over. Tears fell from her face as she
continued to run.

“I WILL KILL YOU ONCE I FIND YOU!!!” Peter called out as he ran through the forest. Trying to track her scent, but his wolf was still fighting him. He was clenching the dagger that was in his hand. His clothes were covered in his mate’s blood. ‘This is all that bastard’s fault. He kept repeating it over and over in his
mind.
He soon heard the sound of twigs and branches breaking, like something was tumbling down the hill
towards his right.
