Chapter 34: Big Brother’s Realization

Jason’s POV

All of a sudden, we were all back in the meeting room we started in. I looked over to check on Kari when I realized that she was on the floor. Her body was shaking and twitching like she was being electrocuted

over and over again.

“Karisma!” I screamed out as I dropped to my knees and examined her closely. Her eyes were half open, but her eyes were rolled up in the back of her head. Her body continued to spasm and shake as foam

started to come out of her mouth.

I went to touch her, but a large hand stopped me. “Don’t touch her, son. Move the chairs back and away.” His father spoke as his mother knelt down beside his sister. She gently turned Karisma onto her side while Dad, Willow, and I moved the chairs and table away from Karisma.

“What is happening, Dad?” I asked. I never saw this happen before. “It is a stress seizure. When Karisma gets overwhelmed with emotional or mental stress, it can trigger. The best way would be to get a sedative and put her to sleep so her body can calm down and recover.” He said.

I looked up at him in shock. “Has this happened before?” I asked. I never saw this before. Dad looked at me and nodded. The first time it happened was after she was almost kidnapped. Dr. Andrews told us about it possibly happening whenever she gets too stressed or overwhelmed.” He explained.

“I have something here we can give her until we get her to the hospital.” Miss Sabrina says as she rummages through her satchel. Pulling out a small needle with a light pink liquid inside. I watched as she knelt down next to my mom to inject my sister with the sedative.

“How come we never knew she had seizures?” Willow asked. I wanted to know that too. “Because she asked us not to tell you. She was taking her medication and always doing her calming exercises, so we respected her wishes.” Mom said as she stroked Karisma’s hair.

The shaking and twitching had calmed down, and Mom patted her back for her to finish spitting up all the foarn in her mouth. There was a knock at the door. King Luca went to open it, and four men came in

dressed like nurses.

“Alpha, Dr. Soran sent us to get the young lady.” The leader said with a bow. King Luca stepped aside. “She is to be given the best care. If anything happens to her, there will be hell to pay.” He snarled. I looked at him in confusion. Why was he acting like my father when Karisma and I would get hurt?

The leader nods before stepping to the side and allowing the man behind him to bring in a medical backboard. I looked down and saw that Karisma’s seizure had stopped, and her mouth was clear of the

foam.

I watched as they gently strapped my sister onto the board and then lifted her up. Mom stepped up to the lead nurse before they took her away. “Please put her on a light sedative drip to keep her asleep for the next couple of days.” She asked them. He looked towards King Luca first, like he was asking for

Once King Luca nodded, the lead nurse looked back to my mom. “We will take good care of her, Luna.” He bowed his head and then they took my sister away. I turned back to see that my parents were facing the king and queen with a question in their eyes.

“I thought the memory mind share was only supposed to help us with that one day… why did it go further into her past like that?” Dad asked. Sarbina stood up and looked between the king and my dad. “It was only supposed to go on that day, but I think a higher power intervened with my magic.” She said.

“Who would have the power to intervene?” I asked. A gentle wind blew within the meeting room as a man appeared in the corner of the room. “That would be me.” He said with a dramatic bow. He was very handsome with blonde curly hair and light blue eyes, and fair skin. Although he was not bulky like shifters, he was pretty fit. He was wearing some kind of toga–looking skirt with a cape around his shoulders. His bare chest is on full display.

He was also wearing a helmet and shoes that had wings on them. He started to twirl a small staff in his hand. When I looked closer at it I noticed it had two snakes twisted around it, and it also had wings on it. Sabrina looked surprised for a moment. “Are you truly Hermes? The messenger of the gods?” She asked as if she couldn’t believe she was talking to an actual god like being. That was when his whole outfit made

sense to me.

The man smiled. “That I am. Hermes is the name, and delivering messages is my game.” He said with a playful wink. Dad stepped forward and bowed his head in respect, but then looked at him in curiosity. “Why would a god aid in helping my daughter?” He asked.

Hermes looked at Dad with a smile on his face. “Your daughter?” He asked in a playful tone, though his eyes made it seem like he was gauging my father’s next answer. Dad stood taller, to his full height, and looked the god in the eyes. “She is and will always be my daughter, even if there is not a single drop of blood between us.” He stated. Mom stood next to him and nodded her agreement. “I have and will always love Karisma as if she were my own child. She is mine no matter what her past has shown us.” Mom stated as well.

Hermes then turned his eyes to me. I glared back at him. “Karisma is my little sister. I will always care for her and be there for her. We don’t have to share blood to share a bond.” I growled. Hermes‘ eyes grew kinder after hearing our statements. “That is good to hear, and as to your question, Alpha Philip, I helped because Helios asked me to.” He said

Queen Melody straightened at that name. I never heard of it before. “Who is Helios?” I asked. Hermes smiled as he came closer to me. “Helios is the god of the sun. He felt like he owed a debt to Melody, so he asked me to keep an eye on her and her children for him.” He explained.

Melody’s hand went to her mouth as she let out a whimper. King Luca and King Jeremiah both put their arms around her. I turned back to Hermes. “Queen Melody’s children?” I asked. Not wanting to voice the whole question.

Hermes nodded. “Yes. On the night of her birth, Princess Danica Higgins Ainsworth was kidnapped and thrown off a waterfall, intending to kill her. I delivered her to a safe place for her to grow.” He said. Melody grolwed. “Safe? That rogue almost killed her!” She snarled. Hermes looked down and bowed his head in

shame.

“I am sorry about that. I didn’t think that Peter would go insane knowing that she was part vampire. I also

didn’t take into account that her vampire genes would come in so soon.” He said. “Why didn’t you return

her to us?” King Jeremiah asked.

“It was for her safety as well as the young dragon’s peace of mind.” He answered. I looked at him in

confusion. “Dragons can sense their fated mates after shifting for the first time. Kai Dragneel Jackman

was forced to shift at the age of ten and was already feeling the pull towards his mate before he was even

born. To have his young mate around and not claim her for until she came of age was dangerous for both

of them.” He explained. “The gods thought if she grew up away from him, then they could have a proper

mate bond when they were both adults.” He added.

Melody nodded. “That was something Jasmine had suggested to me before I gave birth. I never thought about how to do that, but then again, with how things played out, I never had to.” She said as she looked at

Hermes.

Mom stepped forward. “I never heard of there being a lost princess.” She said. I nodded in agreement. I
