Chapter 35: Growing Family and the Mother Royal

Luna Elsa gripped her hands on her mate’s arm. The realization that their baby girl was a princess doesn’t worry them. They always thought she would be mated to someone of importance with how strong she was… it was the fact that, since she had no knowledge of any of this, it would affect her psyche.

Through the years, Karisma has always put on a brave face in front of Jason and Willow, but Alpha Philip and Luna Elsa knew that her mind was her own worst prison. As the Luna of the pack, Elsa always made time for tea with her daughter so she would have a safe place to speak.

“How are we going to tell her?” Jason asked, looking between his parents and the king and queen. He was worried about his sister’s health. He didn’t care who she really was. She was still his little sister to protect. Even if Kai was one of the strongest instructors at the academy. If he was supposed to be Karisma’s mate, then he would give him the full big brother treatment.

Melody looked at the people who raised her daughter since she was only six years old. She could see the

worry for her daughter on all of their faces. Even if they shared no blood, they were her daughter’s family

and had become like family to her.

“We will tell her once she is in a much calmer state.” Melody said. Luna Elsa stiffened, but kept her head

down as she bit her tongue. Melody was the Luna Queen and far stronger than her.

Melody smiled as she took Elsa’s hands off Alpha Philip’s arm and into hers. Holding them gently as she

waited for the Luna to look up at her. Luna Elsa lifted her head and saw the kindness and caring within the

Luna Queen’s gaze.

“You will forever be her parents. Your family is just joining a much bigger one.” She said with a smile.

Elsa was stunned when Melody then engulfed her in a big hug. “You loved and cared for her all these

years. That is not for nothing. You have protected her when I could not. You have no idea how grateful I

am to meet such a wonderful couple,” Melody said, tears filling her eyes as she spoke honestly and

truthfully.

Melody had always feared that her lost daughter would return to them broken because of being bullied and neglected, but seeing how much Elsa and Philip loved and protected her both in the memory mind share and the trial… Melody knows that it was for the best.

Elsa timidly returned the hug. “Honestly, it was Karisma that saved my mate first.” Alpha Philip stated. As he saw his mate and the queen hug, he saw two mothers who both worried over their child… Over the daughter, they both loved without end. Though he suspects that the queen hid her grief over her lost well since she had to rule over the other packs.

He doubted that she had the same healing that his mate did when they adopted little Karisma after losing their second child.

Melody pulled away and looked at both Philip and Elsa. “From now on, we are family. No more titles.” She said as she whipped some of the loose tears from Elsa’s face. “Your pack will also have better standing with the Royal Moon pack.” Luca said. Making Philip turn his head to him.

“We can draw up a formal treaty later, but I know that Karisma will always want you close. Especially once

her brother takes over as the next alpha.” He said with a smile.

“We never wanted anything in return for raising Karisma. We love her like family.” Philip said. He did not

want special treatment just because of who Karisma’s birth family was. He loved Karisma like his own

from the moment he met her. He would never have her doubting their love for her.

Luca raised his hands in a peace gesture. “It was not made to sound like some reward or payoff. I saw

how much our daughter loves all of you, and I only wish to keep those she loves safe.” Luca said. He

would not lose his daughter to grief if something were to happen to her family in the Starlight pack.

Jeremiah nodded in agreement. “It is a good idea to have some of our warriors stay with the Starlight

pack. That man that Karisma saw when she was seven, he is the man that I have been looking for.” He

said.

Philip and Jason both turned to Jeremiah with a growl in their throats. Philip regrets never once seeing

that man because he was so consumed with rage that he tore apart the vampire that was carrying his daughter away, and then checked on Karisma’s limp body.

Jeremiah gestured for everyone to sit down once more before he explained further. Hermes looked like a high school girl waiting for the juicy details as he floated in the corner.

Once everyone was seated again, Jeremiah let out a sigh. “Just like not all the werewolves don’t like that

their queen is mated to Drake and me, some of my vampire soldiers didn’t take it so well that I had mated

a werewolf and shared her with Luca and Drake.” He said.

Melody placed her hand on Jeremiah in comfort because she knew how much he and Luca were working

to keep these problems from affecting their kingdoms on a drastic level. “Jasper Killoran was one of my

top generals. He had served in the war between werewolves and vampires when my father was king many centuries ago.”

Philip went still at that. “I know vampires can live forever, but are you sure that man in the memory mind share was this Jasper Killoran?” He asked. Jeremiah nodded.

“Yes. I remember his face very well, as there are still photos of him in our hall of decorated warriors.” Jeremiah said. Just like how the human military was honored, vampires did the same thing.

“That and the vampires that recognized Karisma as royal blood when she cut herself, called him general.” He said. “So you could understand them?” Jason asked. Jeremiah nodded. Vampires lived very long lives. and moved around to keep themselves hidden from humans. It was very common for vampires to learn almost every language. It would be rare for a vampire to know only two or three languages. “Yes. They were speaking Romani. The first one called out that she was of royal blood, which is why he was getting high off her scent. As a royal, her blood would be like addictive candy to a vampire’s sense of smell and

Philip then remembered the night his beta female reacted to Karisma’s blood for the first time. The smell

made her feed off her mate before she could control herself. “I am thankful that you got to her before

Jasper could get his hands on her.” Jeremiah said.

“Why?” Willow asked. She had been quietly listening to all of this for a bit, but now she wanted to know

what that man would have done to her best friend. “Because if Jasper had gotten her, then he would have

locked her up somewhere and abused her beyond imagination. She would have lived such a horrid life just

because of her blood.” Jeremiah said, clenching his hands at the thought of what that bastard could have

done to his daughter.

“Why would he need her? You have other children?” Elsa asked. Jeremiah sighed before looking up at her.

“Yes, we have other children, but none of them show the markers of being the next heir for the vampire

kingdom within their blood.” Jeremiah said.
