Chapter 38: Your Destiney
Karisma’s POV

He seemed familiar for some reason. I know I have never seen him, but it feels like I have known him
before. “Karisma, this is Hermes. He is the one I had watching over you all these years.” Helios said.
Hermes turned to me and bowed his head. “I apologize, little princess. I didn’t know that male hated
vampires so much. I made sure your papa wouldn’t mind, though.” He said as he gave me a sad smile.
“You made sure that Papa was there to save me?” I asked. He nodded his head. Hermes smiled as he
nodded his head. “Yes, little princess. I went to the Starlight pack to collect their daughter’s soul as she had passed away, and when I saw how it wrecked the alpha and luna… I knew that you would be just what
they needed. Just like they would be what you needed.” He said.
I nodded as it made sense. Papa and mother were both broken, and so was I. They loved and cared for me as much as I grew to love and care for them. Broken souls that mended each other’s pain.
I looked back up to Hermes. “Does mother and papa know?” I asked. He gave me a big grin. “Yes. Willow
and Jason know as well.” He said. I felt my heart rate pick up. ‘What would they think? Would they just leave me with the royal family now?‘ I felt a gentle wind lift me up from the ground as visions or memories
passed by me.
I saw Willow, Jason, and the parents who raised me standing before the royal family and Hermes.
Hermes was staring at Papa with a playful smirk on his face, but his eyes were serious and focused on Papa. “Your daughter?” He asked. Papa stood tall and never once looked away from Hermes‘ gaze. “She is and will always be my daughter, even if there is not a single drop of blood between us.” He stated. I could still see the love and truth within his expression. Mother had come up next to him and linked her arm in his, also looking directly at Hermes as if he told her something stupid like the sky being green.
“I have and will always love Karisma as if she were my own child. She is mine no matter what her past has shown us.” Mother said, I smiled and wished I could hug them both right now. Then Hermes looked
directly at my big brother.
Jason glared at Hermes as if he insulted him. “Karisma is my little sister. I will always care for her and be
there for her. We don’t have to share blood to share a bond.” He growled.
When the winds were dying down, and I was placed back onto the ground, I looked up to Hermes, “I meant no disrespect to them, but I have seen mortals throw away those that were of no use to them. Family or
not.” He said with a shrug.
“I was mistaken once, and it almost cost you your life. I was not going to make another mistake that would cost you your mind and heart, little princess.” He said as he came closer and made a clean cloth appear out of nowhere. Ever so gently, he wiped my face clean of tears. Tears I didn’t know I was shedding.

When he held the cloth up to my nose. I felt my cheeks go red as no one has blown my nose for me since I was a pup. I blew without argument, and he cleaned me up just like a parent would. No hint of disgust anywhere to be found on his face. Once he finished, the cloth disappeared just as fast as it had appeared.
“You are at the top of all of their minds.” Hermes said. “They are more concerned about how to tell you all they have learned without overwhelming you and causing another seizure.” He said. I smiled at that. Ever since the first time I had a seizure, Papa and Mother were hovering around me for weeks.
I can only imagine how Jason and Willow are going to react once I wake up. They never knew about the seizures because it only happened under a lot of stress. I didn’t want them to worry about it and try to
change their life plans to stay near me.
I looked up to Hermes. “What does the royal family think?” I asked. I have seen movies where royals or
rich people were cruel to their lost children as adults because they had been scammed so many times in the past and were tired of being hurt. Would they think I was trying to increase my status?
Hermes smiled. “They are thankful to have finally found you. They knew you were out there and have never stopped looking for you. They even want to make a royal treaty with your papa so that you can keep your family close while getting to know your new family.” He said.
I gave a smile. I wouldn’t have to choose. I could keep both. Then a thought popped into my head. “Shit. I have four fathers now.” I muttered. That made Selene laugh, Hermes chuckled, and Helios smiled.
“Well, you have four fathers, two mothers, five brothers, and two sisters… but who is counting?” Hermes said through his laughter. I giggled along.
After we all calmed down from the laughter. I turned to Selene and asked. “Okay, now that the family shock is out of the way. What is the reality of my destiny?” I asked.
Selene wiped a tear from her eye before she looked directly at me. “You, my dear. Are the true heirs to the vampire kingdom. The one who shall become Queen. You are the mother royal.” She said.
I blinked in confusion. The mother royal? What in the hell was that?
“I am sorry… but what is the mother royal? I never heard that term before.” I said. I never looked into the history of vampires much, but I still learned a lot from Willow. I was often Willow’s sounding board when she was practicing for her history presentations or if she had just learned a new fact and wanted to share it with someone.., but I have never once heard of a vampire queen called a mother royal.
“The mother royal is born when the vampire kingdom needs progression. A queen that is not afraid to speak her mind and leads the vampire race in a new direction.” Selene said. “It doesn’t happen often, but when a huge change is introduced to the supernatural world, for one reason or another. It is the vampire kingdom that doesn’t take the change very well.” Helios added.
Hermes chuckled. “I think it is because of how long vampires live. Time has no effect on them like with dragons, witches, and warlocks. After watching mortals over the generations, the older the generation is, the harder it is to convince them that change is a good thing.” He said.

Selene nodded. “That is where the mother royal comes into play. It is a female who is blessed with the
power and strength that rivals others. When paired with her true mate, order is restored as no one within
the vampire kingdom can challenge her. Not even your father could rival your power once you acceded to
the throne with your mate.” She explained.
I gasped. My father, King Jeremiah, it is said that he was to be the most powerful royal vampire to ever take the throne. “You were born not only of royal blood, but of alpha blood. You are by far the strongest mother royal to ever be born in history.” Helios said.
That was when another thought came to me that made me fall to my knees. “Alpha blood. Royal blood.” I mumbled to myself, but I knew the gods could still hear me. Then I started to laugh. Almost like I was
