Chapter 258: Satisfied
Grayson
On the way back from meeting Brenda Jones, Tiffany was in tears and still furious. It was understandable she felt that way I remembered how she bragged about how she was going to rise again even without the shares she had transferred to me. I should’ve enjoyed every second of it because things didn’t go her way. I I couldn’t do much of that as I kept thinking about Maddox back in that boardroom
While it bothered me that he knew about my deal with Tiffany, it didn’t bother me as much as how he knew that I’d watched him fuck Harper in that cottage. My jaw clenched as I thought about how she must’ve felt
she found out. Of course she knew all about it.
Just as I began to wonder what her reaction could’ve been, Tiffany’s annoying voice cut through the air as! started talking on the phone with Josh. She was barely able to explain what had happened because she kep pausing, only to break down some more.
He must’ve been so affectionate with her because as she talked to him, the tremble in her voice began to fa despite the tears in her eyes.
I could hear it in her voice just how much she hated Maddox, but she couldn’t slap him even if she wanted t He was obviously no one to mess with because he had even managed to keep things under control when it came to Anna and that man named Nico.
It made sense why Anna kept living her life like Tiffany hadn’t made any attempts to get some revenge, whic was something I was supposed to do anyway.
After she got off the phone with Josh, she wiped her tears and spoke to me while staring ahead.
“Drop me off at Josh’s place.”
“Nope. I’ve never actually gotten that close and I don’t have time for that. I need to be at the office for an important meeting so-”
“I don’t care! Just drop me off!”
I scoffed. “How about you tell your boyfriend to come and pick you up at the park or something?”
She jerked her head in my direction and when I saw those tears run down her face again out of anger, I rolled my eyes before I chuckled.
“Is this funny to you?” she asked with clenched teeth.
I sighed. “More than you can imagine. I get that Maddox managed to get the company before you could, but why are you acting like you’re broke as fuck? You still have your private jet, luxury cars and luxury apartments So yes, this is definitely funny to me.”
“Ugh! Why would I expect somebody like you to understand how this feels for me?”
“Hey, your mom is actually going through something worse because she’s had to sell most of what she had to fund her lifestyle. We both know how that’s going to end if she doesn’t handle her finances carefully. You should talk to her about this”
“Don’t mention that fucking woman.”
I was aware that she still hated hearing anything that had to do with her mother, but I just felt like messing with her anyway.
I was only able to drop her close enough to Josh’s place, then proceeded to the office.
Despite having so much work to do, I kept zoning in and out as I only grew more worried about what Maddox had mentioned. I wasn’t even able to enjoy my lunch break because the food didn’t taste as good as usual. It was still because of him.
I had ten minutes left before getting back to work, so I turned to my phone instead for a distraction.
It was only a few seconds of scrolling when I came across a post that made me lean back in my seat with a

sigh of defeat. There was a picture of Harper and her father. The difference this time was that she was dressed formally. She stood out so much in that white dress that I saw her before even reading the headline She was now in charge of Protocol 8 Technologies.
She looked so powerful in that picture that for a second, she actually looked intimidating. But I quickly shool my head dismissively because that was still Harper.
After reading the whole post and scrolling for a few seconds, I came across another post that talked about Veronica and how she was the one truly suffering because she was expected to share the spotlight
Harper. The post itself was mostly ridiculous, but it had some interesting details. Still, it wasn’t enough for a proper distraction because I had no peace of mind.
When I forced myself to get back to work, I just kept looking down at my wrist watch. I had an important shareholders meeting at 4 PM.
It mattered more than anything else that day because it was the one company I had built from the ground up few years ago. Fordchem was my proudest achievement.
Time for the meeting finally arrived and I walked into that boardroom like it was any other day despite everything that was running through my mind.
Everyone was already in their seats and that included the company’s directors, department head, legal counse finance officers and several of our shareholders.
