Chapter 265

Harper

I had just finished touching up my lipstick when the main bathroom door creaked open. I was curious, so I looked over a noticed that it was Tiffany coming in

She already had her face twisted like she had some shit to say to me. It was quite sad because I had thought about her fro time to time. I wouldn’t wish a miscarriage on anyone.

It was already clear that my concerns for her didn’t mean shit because when she stood right beside me, she snatched my lipstick just as I was about to put it back in my handbag

I didn’t turn to face her night away because I could still see her through the mirror. She sneered like she wanted me to de something about it, but I just took a deep breath, then finally turned to face her.

I was never going to forget all the things she had done. but I thought just for a few seconds, I’d keep it polite with her like hadn’t just snatched my lipstick

“Hello to you too,” I said with a neutral tone.

She scoffed as she poked my shoulder “And what’s this supposed to be?”

I sighed. “Look. I’m just trying to-”

“Oh, just save it!” She held up the palm of her hand to my face. “You’re just trying to do what? Not you looking at me like you actually care.”

I crossed my arms and exhaled softly, telling myself to still keep it cool. “The honest truth is you’ve been nothing but horrible to me, but that doesn’t change the fact that you went through something so painful.”

She chuckled bitterly as she nodded like she had just figured out something huge. There she is.”

“What?” My eyes narrowed.

“I see what you’re trying to do here. Stop trying to act like you care because you definitely don’t. This mask of pity that you have, I see right through it. You’re now so high and mighty because you’re a Beauregard, so if you think that I for a second, believe this shit show you’re putting on right now, you have another thing coming!”

I snatched back my lipstick while shaking my head. “You know what? Take it however you want. I’ve done my part. It’s your problem if you can’t see what’s going on here.”

“I definitely see what’s going on here! Just because you’re this overnight princess, doesn’t make you equal in status to me.”

Placing a hand on my hip, I shot her a warning glare. “Do you really wanna take it there?”

She forced a laugh. “I just did. What are you going to do about it? You’re still nothing. Harper! You’ll never compare to me!”

“Oh yeah?” I glanced at the ceiling. “Last time I checked, you’re not an Aldridge, so what the fuck are you talking about?”

Her eyes went wide with shock and she stopped blinking for a few seconds.

I waited with the corner of my mouth raised like I was daring her to deny it

“W-what?” she managed to say, now barely able to keep her head up

No matter what, the one hing I wasn’t going to do was tell her who her biological father was. Maddox had told me that she still didn’t know. She was going to find out when the time was right and from the right person. I wasn’t going to hurt her

with that information

“You see,” I said with my head high. Tve known for a long time now. I could’ve actually spread the word myself as revi for what you did to Anna. She knows about this as well, but she’s not that heartless to expose something so private let one thing clear right now so we don’t ever have to bring it up again. You’re right. You and I will never be equal tydoes matter what you do because you’re not the Tiffany from before, the same way I’m not the Harper from before. I chose stick around just so I could have a word with you, but you clearly just wanted to make it about yourself and how I’m sti nothing

She was now staring to the side, like looking straight at me was unbearable. I would’ve loved to hear her comeback, but was nothing there. That was the one thing she was able to use against me before, but now, it didn’t work that way.

When I walked past her and opened the door. I paused because right across from where I was, Grayson was waiting the with his back against the wall. He even stepped away from it and came towards me as soon as the door opened.

He must’ve wanted to say something, but I didn’t give him the chance. Instead, I stepped out and was ready to walk awa

Suddenly, my hair was yanked from behind and I grunted sharply

“Tiffany!” He yelled at her

My hair was let loose just a second after he said that and I fixed it as I turned around to face them.

There was a sight I thought I’d never see. He tightly held onto her wrist with anger while she frantically tried to break fre

“Let me go!” she yelled. “I said let me go!”

“That’s enough!” He grabbed her wrist tighter. “What’s wrong with you? Are you trying to cause a scene? Don’t embarrass us!”

“Oh, please! You have no idea what this bitch was saying just a minute ago in the ladies room. She knows I’m not an Aldric and she’ll obviously use that information to her advantage. She’s just waiting for the right moment but you know what? Ft that! I’ll make sure she-”

“It doesn’t matter what she knows. Control yourself! And you’re the one who followed her. So what if she knows? One thin know about Harp, she’d never intentionally hurt anyone in any way.”
