Maddox and I were out somewhere on most days, but on that particular day, I just wanted to spend time at his place. H taken me all over the world, yet I had come to prefer spending time with him like that more than anything else.
We were on the patio that evening, my head resting on his chest while I massaged his hand gently.
His phone rang and judging by the way he rolled his eyes, I knew it was the same number that had called six times alrea that day.
“Why don’t you just pick up this one time and find out who it is?” I suggested as I glanced up at him.
He groaned softly. “It’s probably somebody else who wants a one on one interview, considering everything that has happened in the past few weeks. I mean, there’s the fact that Tiffany was carrying Josh’s baby, the identity of her biologi father and that ongoing divorce.”
“You know,” I said as I glanced up at him. “I’m so glad that we were all able to keep our mouths shut long enough for someone else to actually reveal those secrets to the world. That anonymous post started everything and now it’s been deleted.”
“Everyone who was present that day still denies that they were the one responsible. Uncle Sebastian still suspects Grayson
I chuckled. “Wow, he just won’t let it go, even when he knows that it wouldn’t make any sense that Grayson would want m drama from the media because he already has a lot going on. He’s constantly going to court with all those cameras follow him for all the wrong reasons. It’s crazy that despite all those charges, he’s been able to avoid jail time for now.”
He scoffed. “It still doesn’t mean much because that divorce is stressful as fuck. You know how chaotic it was this morning when he was spotted arguing with Tiffany in that parking lot right outside the court.”
“Yeah.”
My voice was quieter as I thought about Grayson actually getting a divorce. He was going to be single and at a different tim that should’ve filled me with so much hope, but it made no difference to me and even Maddox knew that.
Even with so much going on in Grayson’s life, not once did I call or text to check up on him. A small part of me wanted to. just because we used to be friends. But a bigger part of me decided there was no need. He would only start to think that I cared more than I did and I didn’t want any of that.
According to Maddox, the divorce was going to drag on for even a year or more because neither of them was willing to walk away with less than the other.
I could only imagine that it was going to drain the life out of both of them, but that was who he chose and in less than six months, he was already divorcing her
Just as I started talking about how Anna switched up her look yet again. Tum came over to announce that dunner was served.
I already knew that he was Tiffany’s father before the rest of the world knis w. But that was the first time I was seeing him up close and he was still very professional
I waited until he was gone to say. Im so glad fun didn’t restgn and still hasn’t even brought it up”
Maddox added “And I hope he doesn’t. Whatever happened in the past that’s their business. He does a great job here and
that’s all that matters to the.
“I really thought that by row Fitfany would’ve wanted to meet him and calk, but nope

He scoffed like I had just said something ridiculous. “Why would she?”
“Come on. It’s been weeks now since she found out.”

He rose to his feet and held out his hand for me. “Maybe she needs more time. The media is constantly on her neck, sc there’s that.”
Holding on to his hand, I said. “And then there’s you.”
“What about me?” He smirked while holding me by the waist.
“Doesn’t it get to you that people are still talking about how you might treat Tiffany knowing that she’s noy your biologi sister?”
He kissed my forehead. “Hey, I thought you knew me by now. People will always talk. That’s why I’ll never let it bother i But I do have to admit that the questions I hate the most when I’m in public are the ones about how my relationship wi Margot has changed because first, it was the divorce with my father and now, the truth about Tiffany and I not being/ siblings.”
I snorted when Margot was mentioned. “It’s not just your relationship that they should be asking about. She looks like a whole mess whenever someone takes a pic of her at a time she least expects it. Did you see the one from yesterday? She looked like she was hiding from something.”
“Nope. She’s still just as ashamed. I guess even for her, it can definitely get to that point.”
Maddox
Harper and I were enjoying our dinner as I kept teasing her with a chunk of meat that never reached her lips because I wouldn’t let her have it.
Her giggles were all I could hear but just then, my phone rang again. I glanced at the screen and it was the same number th had been calling.
She lightly shook her head and said, “You really need to do something about this. If you’re not going to pick up at this poin you might as well block the number.”
While I was so certain that it was somebody who wanted an interview with me, a small part of me thought I could’ve been wong. It was for this reason that I thought I’d pick up just once and if it was some annoying journalist, I’d hang up and
block the number.
I wanted to keep the playful mood alive with Harper, but I was so curious about who was calling me chat my mood changed.
