Chapter 30 Mommy Doesn’t Love Me at all!
Jaslyn followed closely behind her, glaring at her with a face full of dissatisfaction.

“You should come back and visit me more often. I don’t know how many more times I’ll get to see you all,” Benjamin said as soon as the door closed, cutting off the noise from outside. His voice filled the quiet room like a soft sigh.
Before Elina could even respond, Jaslyn ran over and threw herself into his arms.
“Great-grandpa, I can come visit often. It’s just that Mommy doesn’t want to,” she said, peeking over at Elina with puffed-up cheeks, clearly upset with her.
Elina merely cast her a glance and walked over to the other side. “I promise I’ll come back and visit you often. You should get some good rest today.”
Plenty of people had come to the celebration, and although Benjamin was happy, it had drained a lot of his energy. While gently wiping his face with a warm damp towel, Elina comforted him. After the caregiver helped him into bed, he mumbled. “You said it. Don’t lie to me.”
Elina nodded. “I won’t lie to you.”
“You don’t have to stay too late tonight either. With Jack here, you can take Jaslyn home early to rest,” Benjamin said, already starting to doze off as he lay in bed.
Elina agreed and led Jaslyn out of the room, but before she could even loosen her grip, the little girl yanked her hand away with force.
“Mommy doesn’t love me at all! Why are you pretending to care about me in front of Great-grandpa? You’re lying to him! You have no intention of bringing me back to visit him!” Jaslyn shouted, her face flushed with anger.
Elina patiently lowered her voice and said, “Great-grandpa is sleeping. You can’t yell and make noise here.”
Hearing this, Jaslyn’s eyes turned red, her face full of blame. “Mommy cares about Great-grandpa but doesn’t care about me at all.”
“You really need my care?” Elina asked, her expression unreadable.
Jaslyn turned her head stubbornly. “Of course not! I have Daddy and Aunt Elowyn. We’re a happy family! It’s better without you!”
With that, she ran downstairs. The nanny standing nearby gave Elina an awkward smile.
“Madam, kids just speak without thinking,” she said.
Elina didn’t seem to care. She nodded lightly. “Go keep an eye on her. There are a lot of people today.”
After the nanny left, Elina looked down from the second floor and saw Jaslyn running straight to Elowyn. She pointed upstairs and said something, and Elowyn, following her gaze, gave Elina a mocking smile.
Elina calmly withdrew her gaze and headed downstairs. The highlight of the party had passed, and there

was no reason for her to stay any longer.

Some of the ladies had already started leaving. Elina planned to find Jack to let him know, but as she passed by the guest room hallway, she saw him entangled with Elowyn.
Jaslyn suddenly blocked her path, standing with her hands on her hips. “Mommy, please don’t disturb Daddy and Aunt Elowyn. Don’t be the wicked witch who tries to separate them, okay?” She spoke cach word slowly and firmly, as if she were seriously guarding someone important.
Unfortunately, the person she was trying to protect was not her own mother. A flicker of pain crossed Elina’s heart, but it vanished just as quickly. “Tell your dad I’m leaving,” she said, her voice calm and final.
Without waiting for Jaslyn’s response, Elina turned and walked away, her figure resolute.
Meanwhile, in the hallway, Jack was frowning as Elowyn clung to him.
“You’ve had too much to drink.” he said.
“Jack. I’m not drunk. I just have something I want to say to you,” Elowyn insisted.
Jack pushed her hand away, and a servant quickly stepped up to support her. “Take her to rest,” he ordered.
Elowyn reached out but couldn’t catch him. Jack had already walked off.
She gritted her teeth and shoved the servant aside. “Get out of my way.”
Stepping out of the hallway, Jack saw Jaslyn standing against the wall and asked, “What are you doing here?”
