Chapter 71 You Really Think I’d Fold?
Elina furrowed her brows and struggled a little, but it was no use.
Jack’s strong arms were wrapped tightly around her; she couldn’t move at all.

“This is the Mansor Group,” he said coolly. “Who do you think would dare humiliate me here? Besides, what’s our relationship? Even if we’re being affectionate in the office, who would dare say a word?”
There was a chill in his voice, it was hard to tell if he was speaking to Elina or sending a warning to the crowd outside the door and windows.
He’d told Howard in advance to turn off the surveillance in this room and to get rid of the nosy employees.
Only in a room with sealed doors and windows could it be just the two of them.
Elina pressed her lips together and turned her face away, avoiding his gaze.
*So what was the point of this?” she asked angrily. “Just to mess with me?”
‘You’re my wife. I have no reason to do that.” Jack cupped her face and looked into her eyes. “I just want you to come home with me; stop throwing tantrums.”
Even in this strange, intimate atmosphere, his tone was still commanding when he asked her to come home.
Jack never bowed his head to her.
Whether it was strategy or manipulation, he had no intention of backing down.
He pulled her closer, his arm tightening around her waist until her lips were nearly touching the corner of
his mouth.
Gritting her teeth, Elina forced some distance between them.
“What are you talking about? We’ve already filed for divorce. If Mr. Mansor is so eager to be connected to me, it’s only as ex-husband and ex-wife!”
“I told you, stop making a scene.” Jack’s eyes darkened. “You know my temper; you should know what happens when I run out of patience.”
Of course she knew. But so what?
She let out a cold snort. “What’s the matter? Elowyn couldn’t satisfy you? Or is Jaslyn too much to handle? So now you need me back to make it easier for your little rendezvous?”
Her biting sarcasm made Jack’s face darken instantly.
This wasn’t what he heard on the phone.
Hadn’t Elina said she still had feelings for me? So why is she talking back now, spitting words with no mercy at all?

Jack stared at her, his eyes turning cold and dangerous.
He loosened his grip, and Elina immediately pushed him away and stood up.

She jumped to her feet as if escaping a plague, taking two quick steps back to put as much distance between them as possible.
Jack stood up too, stepping in front of the only way out.
“How many times have I asked you to come home? I’ve said it before, my patience is limited. Don’t overestimate yourself. Do you really think things will fall apart just because you’re not in the house?”
“I never said that,” Elina shot back with a mocking smile. “That was your line, Mr. Mansor. You’re the one asking me to come back.”
Jack’s expression turned icy as he closed in on her, step by step. “How did I never realize you had such a sharp tongue?”
She slowly backed away until her body hit the wall; she had nowhere left to go.
“I’ve always been this way. You just never noticed.”
“I never noticed?” His jaw clenched like she’d hit a nerve. “Then who knows you best-Xenon? You don’t even have the divorce papers yet. How far have you two gone?”
Elina let out a genuine laugh.
