Chapter 82 You Don’t Get to Judge

Finished

“I don’t need justice. My only wish now is to leave Jack and stay far away from the Ford family.”

Elina spoke with calm finality, a faint, genuine smile rising to her lips.

Fraser looked at her face, and the pain in his heart deepened. Then he pulled her gently into

his arms.

“Lina, I’m back. I won’t let you suffer anymore.”

His broad, warm hand patted her back softly.

As if, by doing so, he could somehow give her all the strength in the world.

Elina gripped the fabric of his coat tightly and nodded hard. “Okay.”

Not far off, a black business car rolled past.

The yellow light at the intersection flashed. It changed to red, and the car came to a stop at the

lane.

Inside the vehicle, Elowyn happened to glance out the window-and froze when she saw the two figures embracing.

She immediately sat upright.

Was that… Fraser and Elina?

He really went straight to see Elina after getting off the plane?!

Elowyn’s brows furrowed as her hand clenched into a fist on her lap.

After all these years, they were still this close? How could that be?

Had they been in contact this whole time?

Jealousy and resentment twisted inside her like a storm.

Her face contorted with fury. Even though she already had Jack, she couldn’t bear to see Elina have something she didn’t.

That thought pushed her over the edge.

“Stop the car!” Elowyn suddenly shouted.

Chapter 82 You Don’t Get to Judge

Her voice jolted Jack awake from his nap.

“What is it?” he asked, eyes still foggy, brow furrowing slightly.

Clearly annoyed by the rude awakening, Jack’s face was full of displeasure.

Elowyn snapped out of her daze and quickly softened her tone. “Jack, look! Isn’t that Elina? Who is she hugging like that?”

Feigning surprise, she pointed out the window.

The moment Jack heard Elina’s name, he instinctively turned to look outside.

He didn’t need to search-he spotted her immediately.

Fraser was gently stroking her back, and Elina’s slight trembling suggested she was crying.

Jack’s drowsiness vanished in an instant, his eyes sharpening.

His brow tightened. “Pull over.”

His cold voice echoed through the car, and Howard flinched before steering toward the curb.

By that time, Elina had already stepped away from Fraser’s arms, using a tissue to dab an the corners of her eyes.

Fraser reached out and gently brushed her hair. “Why didn’t you

tell me sooner”

She shook her head and gave him a soft smile. “It’s fine. I’ve gotten used to living like this. Being on my own… it’s actually not so bad.”

But to Fraser, her words sounded more like forced strength. “So you plan to be alone forever? Not even have a child?”

“I remember how hard your pregnancy was. You were constantly sick and had so many complications-it took you years to recover.

“You went through hell to give birth to Jaslyn.”

Elina lowered her gaze and shook her head. “It’s not that I don’t want her. It’s that Jaslyn doesn’t want me. If Elowyn treats her well, I won’t worry too much.”

Before Fraser could respond, a cold voice cut through the moment.

“Don’t worry. Elowyn treats Jaslyn just fine. Better than you, in fact. After all, she didn’t abandon her and leave.”

Jack’s eyes swept past Fraser and landed on Elina, his voice dropping. “Don’t forget your place. Hugging a man in public like this-you clearly have no regard for the Mansor family.”

Elina looked at him in shock. “What are you doing here?”

Jack stared her down, face cold as frost. “What, feeling guilty?”

She frowned in frustration. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Then she turned to Fraser. “Fraser, I’ve got work this afternoon. Let’s talk later.”

She didn’t want Jack dragging anyone else into their mess.

But Fraser looked Jack straight in the eye. “I’ve known Lina longer than you. There’s nothing shady between us, and I’d appreciate it if you respected that.”

With that, Fraser stepped forward, placing Elina behind him protectively.

Jack narrowed his eyes. “I haven’t even said anything, and you’re already jumping to her defense? Ever hear the saying: ‘the guilty protest too much”?”

Fraser could feel Jack’s oppressive presence, along with the contempt radiating from him. Anger stirred in his chest, and he tightened his grip on Elina’s hand.

Elina’s brow furrowed as she saw the confrontation escalating. She opened her mouth to speak, but Fraser beat her to it.

“Lina has already filed for divorce. Since you’re the one who broke your vows, even if she is hugging another man right now, it’s none of your business.”
