At Jack’s words, his expression turned icy. “This is how the Ayla family raised their children? Encouraging a married woman to cheat-out in the open?”
Fraser’s voice faltered for a moment, but his stare sharpened with hostility. “Jack, watch your mouth. You don’t get to drag the Ayla family into this.”
Jack gave a cold laugh. “That depends, doesn’t it? On what Mr. Fraser here has been doing.”
His eyes settled on Fraser’s hand, his tone dripping with mockery. “Flirting with my wife in public-wonder what Mr. Fraser would say if he saw that.”
“Don’t talk nonsense!” Fraser released Elina’s arm. “There’s nothing between us. Unlike
you-”
“Fraser, that’s enough,” Elina interrupted quickly before things escalated further.
This wasn’t the place for a shouting match, especially with passing strangers already stopping to
stare.
But Jack had lit a fuse in Fraser, and there was no putting it out now.
Fraser didn’t care who was watching. Jack had insulted the Ayla family first, and he wasn’t going to let that go so easily.
“Lina, you should head back. Let me handle this.”
He turned back to Jack and scoffed. “Seems like the principles of the Mansor family didn’t make it down to you.
“You throw out accusations like mud. Are you really the successor your father raised?”
Elina’s stomach tightened. She looked up just in time to see Jack’s face darken.
She hadn’t expected things to spiral like this.
Jack glared at Fraser. “Before you go questioning others, maybe ask yourself if you’re even qualified to open your mouth, Mr. Fraser.”
“Enough!” Elina finally lost her patience and stepped between the two men.
“Isn’t this argument humiliating enough already?”
This whole mess had started because of her, but at this point, it wasn’t just about her anymore.
If Fraser hadn’t been there, she would’ve walked away by now.

“So if you know it’s humiliating,” Jack snapped, grabbing her arm, “why are you still standing here? Come with me.”
Elina jerked her arm free. “Let go. I’m not going with you. Jack, can you just stay away from
me?”
She yanked herself from his grasp, ignoring the shock that flashed across his face.
She had already seen Elowyn sitting in the car.
Maybe they’d passed by by chance-but getting out and confronting them? That was no coincidence. They were here to stir up trouble.
“Say that again?” Jack growled, his tone low and threatening, every word pushed out through clenched teeth.
Elina frowned and met his gaze. “Why do you insist on being involved with me? What are we now? Why should I explain myself to you? What right do you have to come storming into my life and act like you get a say? And by the way, it was just a hug for comfort-not sex. You use the dirtiest words to paint the most innocent things, and you’re the one living with Elowyn. What does that make you?”
It all came pouring out of her in one breath. She was a bit disheveled, but it was like releasing years of pent-up air-finally able to breathe again.
Jack stared at her, his gaze intense. “You’re really talking to me like this… for him?”
“What else do you expect?” Elina shot back. “You barge in while we’re catching up, throw insults around, and I’m supposed to smile at you?”
Just as the tension was about to snap, a gentle voice cut through it all.
“Fraser? What are you doing here?”
Elowyn walked up with a pleasant surprise on her face, stopping beside Jack and beaming at Fraser.
Fraser’s expression eased a bit. “Had lunch with Lina. Tried to leave, but someone just won’t let
go.”
The jab in his words was aimed squarely at Jack.
Elowyn covered her mouth in feigned shock. “Fraser, you’ve got it wrong. Did Elina say something? Jack’s always been good to her. She just doesn’t appreciate it…”
She
gave Elina a pitiful look, as if holding back even more concern.
