The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 116

“She just got back to the country, so we were just catching up.”

Gideon walked over to the coffee table, poured a glass of warm water, and handed it to Nora. He didn't leave immediately; instead, he sat down on the single armchair right beside her. They were so close that Nora could clearly smell the crisp, reassuring scent of pine radiating from him.

Scattered across the coffee table were several jewelry design sketches she hadn't finished the night before.

Gideon's gaze fell on the papers. Reaching out with long, elegant fingers, he picked up the top sheet. It was an intricate clavicle necklace, its lines fluid and deeply artistic.

“Is this the project your studio took on for that French brand?”

Gideon asked, his eyes studying the sketch.

“Yes.”

Nora set her water glass down, her gaze following his hand to the paper. “The main vine structure is finalized, and now I'm making adjustments to the details. The brand wants a concealed mechanism added near the clasp, so I'm still trying to figure out how to distribute the weight of the metal evenly.”

Gideon didn't show his usual indifference toward her work. He held the sketch, examining it thoughtfully for a moment, a glimmer of calculation in his deep eyes.

“What if you changed this clasp to a dual-interlocking structure, shifting the stress points to the two leaves on the side?”

Gideon reached out and tapped a specific spot on the paper. “Not only would it ensure stability, but visually, it would look much more seamless.”

His voice was right by her ear.

Nora looked in the direction he was pointing. Gideon naturally possessed exceptional commercial aesthetics and a sharp eye for craftsmanship. His suggestion instantly cleared the creative block she had been stuck on for the past two days.

“You... you understand jewelry design sketches?” Nora asked in surprise.

Gideon turned his head to look at her.

“The Hayes Group owns two high-end jewelry brands. When you look at enough of these fundamental structural issues, you naturally pick it up.”

He replied mildly.
