The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 302

"Say something! You mute! Give Gideon back to me!"

Whether from exhaustion or sheer frustration at Nora's lifeless reaction, Giselle suddenly let go.

A loud, anguished sob tore from her throat.

She stared at the blinding red light above the emergency room doors. The overwhelming panic and despair of losing her only pillar of support finally crushed her, and she broke down into uncontrollable weeping.

"Gideon... I want Gideon..."

Giselle buried her face in her hands, her legs trembling so violently she could barely stand.

"Gideon... you can't die... I'll never throw a tantrum again... I'll never make you mad again..."

She sobbed recklessly, looking like a little girl who had lost her most prized possession, her voice saturated with a profound fear of the future.

"Giselle!"

Julian's expression darkened as he quickly stepped forward. He wrapped his strong arms around her collapsing frame, holding her securely against his chest.

His cold gaze drifted over Giselle's head, shooting a freezing glare at Nora before quickly looking away.

"Gideon is tough, he'll be fine. If you keep crying like this, your body won't be able to take it."

Liam and the bodyguards frantically rushed over.

Everyone swarmed around her in a panic. Someone offered tissues, another brought warm water, and others anxiously asked if they needed to get a doctor to administer a sedative.

They all revolved around Giselle, terrified that the pampered Hayes Princess would faint from excessive grief right there in the hospital.

Nora stood completely alone, entirely isolated from the protective circle of people.

She was covered in Gideon's blood, her clothes torn and disheveled, a clear handprint still glowing on her cheek.

A cold, resentment-laced voice suddenly sliced through the air from behind Mrs. Xavier.

Nora's hollow gaze flickered.

Nathan had quietly walked up and was now standing just a few feet away from them.

He was still wearing the baseball jacket he had worn to school that day, his hands shoved deep into his pockets.

His youthful face, which bore a slight resemblance to Nora's, was currently twisted in undisguised disgust and bitterness.

"Look how hard Giselle is crying. Are you happy now? Do you think pulling a stunt like this proves that Mr. Hayes actually cares about you?"

Nora's long eyelashes fluttered violently.

She slowly lifted her head, meeting the hostile glare of her own flesh and blood.
