After parting ways with Lucia at the hospital, Nora headed straight to Lawrence Atelier.
Pushing open the studio's heavy glass doors, she was hit with an intensely suffocating, anxious atmosphere.
A group of assistant designers crowded around the conference table, frowning as they flipped through a breach-of-contract evaluation report. They were so engrossed they didn't even notice Nora walk in.
Nora dropped her canvas tote on her desk and quickly marched over to the table, rapidly getting up to speed on the catastrophic situation from her colleagues.
The studio had recently taken on an exclusive raw stone cutting and setting project. It was supposed to enter its final supply chain phase, but out of nowhere this morning, several core material suppliers had joined forces to completely choke their production.
They not only unilaterally ripped up the pre-order contracts but had officially blacklisted Lawrence Atelier across the industry.
The entire cash flow and production line ground to a complete halt in just a matter of hours.
Staring at the breach-of-contract notice stamped with a bright red seal on the table, Nora's brows drew tighter and tighter.
In this business, no one would ever engage in this kind of mutually destructive corporate sabotage for absolutely no reason.
Lawrence Atelier had just recently secured funding and a public guarantee from Pierce Corporation.
Julian Pierce's name was a massive golden ticket in The Metropolis's business sector. Even at the height of its power, The Hayes Group would have had to show the Pierce family some modicum of respect.
Who on earth had the sheer audacity to drop the hammer on Lawrence Atelier right now, openly defying Pierce Corporation's direct guarantee?
The supplier's move to sever the supply chain was a blatant attempt to destroy the entire project, saddling the studio with an astronomical penalty.
Because Nora had fallen so far behind while caring for Gideon in the hospital, the burden of managing this project was thrust directly onto her shoulders.
"Mrs. Hayes, throwing Julian's name in my face won't work. Business is all about knowing how to play the game. The words on the contract are dead, but people are very much alive."
Winston grabbed another unopened bottle of hard liquor, cracked the seal, and filled three massive crystal glasses to the brim.
"Down these glasses, and I'll consider it an apology. As long as Mrs. Hayes has a good time tonight, those raw stones will be safely delivered to your studio's warehouse first thing tomorrow morning."
He pushed one of the glasses of liquor right to Nora.
"If Mrs. Hayes wants to save Lawrence Atelier's reputation, you need to show some sincerity."
Having spent over half a month pulling consecutive shifts in the VIP hospital room, Nora's body was already pushed beyond its limits. Her stomach was incredibly frail due to her irregular eating habits.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
