"This has nothing to do with Giselle. She's my sister, and I know exactly what kind of person she is."
Gideon coldly delivered his final verdict on the matter.
"Believe what you want."
He looked into Nora's eyes, still burning with resentment, knowing full well that a woman blinded by jealousy wouldn't listen to a single word he said.
"Take some time to calm down."
Gideon had completely lost the patience to continue the conversation. Turning on his heel, his long legs carried him straight toward the walk-in closet on the other side of the master suite. He needed a clean shirt so he could leave this room and its suffocating hysteria behind.
His tall silhouette grew increasingly blurry in Nora's vision.
He was leaving.
He didn't even bother offering a single word of explanation. He just righteously pinned all the blame on her for being unreasonable.
"Gideon!"
Nora bolted upright, screaming his name at the top of her lungs at the back disappearing into the closet.
His footsteps paused, but he didn't turn around.
Nora gripped the blanket so tightly her knuckles turned a deathly white.
She stared at his broad back, tears still cascading down her face, but the light in her eyes had already faded into a dead, ashen gray.
"Are you really planning to drag this out with me forever?"
The sentence seemed to drain the absolute last bit of life from her.
"Three years ago, you told me that aside from the title of Mrs. Hayes, you couldn't give me anything else."
"And for these three years, I played by your rules. I played the part of the perfect, decorative wife."
"But now I'm tired. I don't want the title anymore. I want to let go. I want to leave this place for good. Why won't you just let me go?"
"Since I married you, I will take responsibility for you until the very end."
"The position of Mrs. Hayes is yours. The resources your family needs, the dignity you deserve—you will lack none of it. How much longer are you going to throw this tantrum?"
He turned his head slightly, revealing the sharp, cold profile of his face. A trace of pleading bled into his tone.
"Giselle's birthday gala is just around the corner."
Gideon pinched the bridge of his nose, an aching throb echoing in his temples.
"She'll likely be engaged to Julian soon and become the future matriarch of the Pierce family. After that, her visits to the manor will become far less frequent, and she won't be around to get on your nerves. So, Nora..."
Giselle would soon have her own life, protected by another man.
She wouldn't forever stand between them, nor would she be the unforgivable villain Nora made her out to be.
"Consider it a favor to me. For this upcoming period, at least until her birthday gala is completely over... stop targeting her. Can you do that?"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
