The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 341

He must have uncovered the truth and realized Giselle had caused a massive disaster.

To prevent Nora from pursuing the matter and to protect Giselle's pristine reputation, he had instantly erased all traces of his sister's presence in the country, rushing her onto a private jet to hide abroad until the heat died down.

Now that the storm had passed and the Hayes family had forcefully silenced the suppliers, no one dared breathe a word about that night's filthy scheme.

And so, Gideon couldn't wait to personally drive to the airport and welcome back his completely unscathed sister—who had probably just enjoyed a lavish vacation—returning her straight to the greenhouse he had built for her.

This was what he meant by "This has nothing to do with Giselle."

Nora felt like an absolute joke.

How could she have been so blinded by this fleeting illusion of domestic bliss? How could she have been so naive as to step forward and fix his tie?

How many more times did she have to trip over this man before she finally learned her lesson?

"What's wrong? You look pale."

Gideon sharply noticed her shift in demeanor. Frowning slightly in confusion, he reached out to check her forehead.

Nora took a sharp breath, forcefully crushing the agonizing mix of sorrow and resentment churning in her chest.

She looked up. The softness that had warmed her eyes moments ago was entirely replaced by a dead, vacant clarity.

"It's nothing."

She shook her head, her tone so flat it lacked a single ripple, as if that fleeting moment of rigid shock had never happened.

She took a massive step backward, thoroughly severing the dangerously intimate distance between them.

Lowering her head, she let her long hair cascade forward to mask her expression. Her voice reverted to its usual polite, distant register:

"Have a safe trip, Mr. Hayes. Don't keep the Heiress waiting at the airport."

Metropolis International Airport.

A private jet bearing the Hayes family crest touched down smoothly on the runway. As the engine roar died down, the metal stairs slowly descended.

A fleet of black, bulletproof SUVs was already lined up on the edge of the tarmac, flanked by stoic bodyguards in black suits.

The cabin door opened fully, and a slender, delicate figure appeared.

Gideon looked up.

Dressed in the latest pink Chanel suit, Giselle flew down the stairs like a butterfly, sprinting straight into Gideon's arms.

"Gideon!"

He caught the girl effortlessly, layers of doting warmth rippling through his deep eyes. He raised a large hand, gently smoothing her soft hair.
