"Refuse any form of mediation. Deny every bail process."
"Tell The Precinct to prosecute this with the absolute maximum penalty for intentional homicide. As long as the evidence holds, I want to watch her sign a guilty plea on that verdict."
The faint glimmer of hope in Nora's eyes shattered into dust.
A female officer grabbed Nora's bloodless wrist, snapping a freezing metal cuff around it.
"Click."
The lock engaged.
The biting cold of the metal bled into her veins, violently dragging her out of the haze of despair and slamming her back into reality.
"Ms. Nora, based on the security footage, the threatening texts sent from your phone, and multiple witness testimonies from the scene, you are officially suspected of premeditated murder. Please come with us to The Precinct for investigation."
She was forcefully hauled up from the freezing tiles. Her legs buckled instantly, and she could only stay upright by leaning heavily on the officer beside her.
"Gideon... are you... are you really going to send me to prison?! You're going to lock me in that place?!"
Ten years of being by his side. Seven years of chasing his shadow. Three years of a hollow, loveless marriage.
From the moment he saved her in that alleyway when she was sixteen, her entire existence had orbited exclusively around him.
She twisted her own hobbies to match his, slaved over the stove to cook for him, and waited alone in that empty, massive villa late into the night.
For years, she swallowed every malicious taunt from Giselle and every eye-roll from the Hayes relatives, enduring it all just to stay by this man's side.
Did he genuinely believe she was a monster? Did he really think that out of petty jealousy for a hollow title, she would lure a living, breathing girl to a roof and violently shove her into the abyss?
Could ten years of devotion not buy even a sliver of basic trust? Not even a fraction of human rationale?!
More importantly... right at this very moment, she was carrying a two-week-old life inside her. Their child.
The man's eyes were like a frozen, bottomless abyss, exuding a suffocating chill.
"Nora, shut your mouth, and put away your disgusting act."
"Believe you?"
"Believe what? Believe in some imaginary man in black you fabricated out of thin air? Or believe that you sent those vicious texts just to 'talk'?"
A crazed, lethal hatred burned fiercely in Gideon's deep eyes.
"Nora, you had better pray you can find this so-called real killer. Because if you don't..."
Gideon ground his teeth together, spitting out the most venomous curse imaginable.
"I will make you suffer the pain Giselle felt, a thousand times over."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
