Hearing Julian Pierce's name, Franklin's scowl deepened.
"That Pierce boy is ruthless and venomous, and the shock he took wasn't any lighter than the young master's. If he's contacting the media, he's definitely planning something sinister."
Liam nodded, deeply troubled by the escalating situation.
"I'll have the PR department monitor the media outlets twenty-four/seven. The moment any negative press targeting Hayes Group surfaces, we crush it. But right now, Mr. Hayes's physical health is the absolute priority."
Franklin let out another long, heavy sigh and shook his head.
"The young master went to the cemetery again yesterday."
Franklin recalled the previous night, his heart shattering all over again.
"He didn't come back until the middle of the night, freezing to the bone. He refused to eat and just locked himself in his room. He's relying entirely on handfuls of pills to stay functional. How much longer can his body possibly endure this..."
Liam patted Franklin's shoulder, trying to offer the loyal old butler a sliver of comfort.
"I'll try to shoulder as much of the corporate burden as I can to lighten his workload. Franklin, please keep a close eye on him here at home. Make absolutely sure all hazardous objects are put away. We cannot let him get his hands on anything sharp again."
Franklin nodded repeatedly. Holding his water glass, he turned and headed toward the adjacent stairwell.
Liam tucked his briefcase under his arm and marched toward the study.
The hallway sank back into a heavy silence.
Nora sat completely still on the sofa in her guest room.
Every word exchanged outside her door was seared permanently into her brain.
Antidepressants, sleeping pills, cognitive impairment, psychosis.
These words painted a vivid picture of a completely devastated Gideon.
The image of him staring blankly outside the orphanage, the sight of him drenched in the rain at the cemetery, constantly flashed across her mind.
Nora curled up into a tight ball on the couch, burying her head against her knees.
All of them had been trapped in time by Giselle's death.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
