The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 121

Chapter 121

–Kaia–

Elara came up to me and apologised.

It came as a shock to me; it was strange.

She had hated me since she got to Shadowclaw, and suddenly she was sorry for how she treated me?

I didn’t want to seem difficult, so I told her I forgave her, hoping she would leave me alone.

Turned out, she wanted to win my heart and become friends.

Hell no! That’s not happening, there is no way!

She insisted she wanted to help me with the travel arrangements, and I let her.

I asked her to help load the truck. I thought she would run away after seeing how tedious the job looked, but I

was wrong.

I was watching her through the window on Justine’s balcony, and she was really helping out.

She looked like she would pass out at any moment if she didn’t stop, but she kept going.

“What the hell is she trying to achieve by doing this?” I wondered, staring out the windows.

“Whatever she wants is definitely not good, Kaia” Justine stood beside me, watching Elara as well.

I agree, Elara is someone who will change their way that easily. Especially when she saw me as someone who stole her man, she wouldn’t let it go that easily.

“What do you think she’s after?” I asked Justine.

Justine knew Elara better than I did; it’s best to get insights from her.

“Elara is very manipulative, Kaia”, Justine warned. “You have to be very careful with her. Right now, I think she’s trying to get in your good books. This way, it will be very easy for her to hurt you deeply”

“I thought as much,” I muttered. “That cunning little fox, I can’t believe her audacity”

“You have to keep an eye out for whatever she’s planning,” Justine said, and I looked at her, nodding.

“Sure, I will do that”, I left the window and sat down. Justine did the same. “So, have you decided on the games you are going for?”

Justine shrugged; she looked uninterested, and I knew something was wrong with her.

She was always the first person to encourage me to do something fun and productive, and now, she was backing out of fun activities?

Chapter 121

That’s so unlike her.

:

“What’s wrong, Justine?” I asked, and she raised a brow. “You know you can always tell me anything, righ

She nodded and smiled, trying to mask the turbulence in her chest.

“I’m always here to listen and help you if needed”, I said, and she nodded reluctantly.

“I’m fine, Kaia! Why are you talking like I was dying or something?” Justine chuckled, and I saw tears slip from her eyes.

“I know you, Justine, you’re not fine. I know you are hiding something from me, and I hope you know you don’t have to do that”

When I said this, Justine looked at me and burst into tears.

My heart broke, and I stood up to hug her. I held her in my arms while she cried her eyes out.

By the time she calmed down, her eyes were swollen from crying.

“Shhh, it’s okay, you can let it all out now. I’m here for you,” I whispered while patting her back.

“What do I do, Kaia?” Justine asked.

“What do you mean? What’s going on?” I asked, and Justine raised her head.

“I’m barren,” she muttered coldly.

“What? Who told you that?” I exclaimed, and she looked ashamed.

“That’s what everyone says, and I’m afraid there’s some truth to it,” she explained, and her eyes watered. “What if they are right?”

“How could you say something that horrible about yourself, Justine?” I asked, I was getting mad, and I know she didn’t need that from me now. “People’s judgment shouldn’t become your reality. If you allow them, they are going to ruin your life, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Look at me, Justine. I know how much you want to have a child; you’ve said so many times, and now that I’m pregnant and people are talking, I know it’s affecting you badly. But, please, don’t look down on yourself because people are trolling you. I’m sure there is nothing wrong with you; you’ll get pregnant and have your own pup soon”

I wiped her tears with my thumb, and she tugged at my hand, allowing herself to breathe.

She looked distressed, and I could understand where she was coming from.

I remembered how everyone in Silvermoon mocked and called me barren for failing to give Draven an heir after years of marriage.

Everyone spread rumours about me, ruining the peace and harmony I thought I had in my marriage.

Chapter 121

I could neither eat nor drink for days. Afraid of what people would say.

Turns out, people would talk no matter what.

When Liora got pregnant, everyone who claimed to be my friend, who claimed to love and support me, turned their backs on me and chose Liora as their Luna, while I was thrown aside.
