Chapter 142
Chapter 142
“Blue eyes, wake up,” I heard Theo’s voice, and I jolted. “We are home”
I rubbed my eyes and woke up. I couldn’t believe I had been sleeping the entire trip.
I remember the moment we got on the plane; I decided to take a nap. I didn’t realise I would sleep the whole way.
“Have I been sleeping that long?” I asked, and Theo nodded.
I sat up, wiped my face, and waited for the plane to land.
While waiting, Theo sat by my side. I snuggled into his arms and placed my head on his chest.
I was feeling a little down, but I couldn’t tell what the problem was.
“Are you alright, blue eyes?” Theo looked at my face.
“I’m fine, just a little tired”, I muttered softly.
He kissed my knuckles, and I smiled.
Soon after, we landed, and a limousine driver picked us up.
My legs were weak, and I couldn’t sit on my own. When we got into the car, I leaned on Theo. I looked ahead to see Justine and Zane looking away from each other.
That was strange; those two are inseparable. They could never get their hands off each other.
“What’s wrong with them?” I linked Theo, asking.
“Couple’s quarrel, I presume? I don’t know, we shouldn’t interfere.” Theo suggested, and I agreed.
As much as I wanted to know what was wrong, it’s best if I don’t butt in and let them settle their differences in their own
ways.
“Right, don’t mind me,” I said and closed my eyes.
When we arrived at the mansion, Theo and I went to our room together.
Immediately, I entered the shower and washed my body. I was a little weak; I thought splashing water on my body would help a bit.
I looked up, and Theo was standing at the door, naked and ready to join me.
I smiled shamelessly at his erect cock.
“Do you feel any better, blue eyes?” He asked, and I nodded.
I would go down to the clinic later, I needed to see my gynaecologist, Dr Maggie and have a word with her.
“I feel better, I will make herbal syrup for myself later,” I said. “It will help”
“I’m sorry,” Theo walked in. “It’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have taken you to Nightshade in your condition”, he said, and I rolled my eyes.
“That wasn’t on you, I wanted to go, and you just took me along I said and splashed water on him.

Chapter 142
Theo splashed some water on me, and we giggled and hugged
We bathed and got out of the bathroom, with Theo carrying me CATE
While we were getting dressed. I noticed Theo was awfully quiet
“What’s wrong?” I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.
Theo turned to face me. He looked deeply troubled, and my heart jumped
The council had summoned me to the court first thing tomorrow morning to answer questions.” Theo said
“What? Why?” I was shocked.
“A few villages were attacked, and they think I’m behind it. They said, and I gasped.
That’s impossible. Theo would never do such a thing
“That’s not possible, you’ll never do anything of that sort.” I shook my head, looking at Theo, who looked sad. “What’s going
on?
Theo looked as if he was holding back a lot, and I was heartbroken seeing him like that.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but I have a feeling someone is fratning me for something I didn’t do on purpose? Theo wid I got what he meant, and it wasn’t far from it.
“What would they gain from doing this to you?” I questioned.
“I don’t know, Kaia,” he exhaled, looking tired and confused. “But whatever this is about, they are two steps ahead of me”
My heart sank
This must be a ploy to frame and dethrone Theo and take what he has.
Does this have anything to do with Lucien? Is he behind this?
I didn’t know what to think anymore. Lucien and Cara have been the only ones against Theo for the longest time. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are behind this.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“According to the summons letter, they have proof that I gave orders to attack these poor, vulnerable villages and force them to pay taxes that they couldn’t afford, and when they failed to pay, I sent enforcers to attack them; some people lost their lives in the process”
“Oh no, this is not good.” I said, my eyes widening in shock. “They are out to get you
“I know, Kaia,” Theo said. “Unfortunately, the evidence is solid; if I’m found guilty by the council, I might get exiled for causing unnecessary suffering and death”
I could feel his fear rolling off him, and my heart suddenly rippled with determination.
“We are supposed to be getting married soon, and this is what I’m gifting you instead,” Theo’s eyes welled up. “Uncertainty, fear and court cases that you didn’t ask for. What about our baby
I cupped his face and made him look into my eyes.
“Look at me, Theo, nothing is going to happen,” I said. “We are going to prove your innocence and make those who are trying to frame you for this crime pay, I promise

Theo nodded, but deep down, he was scared, and whatever I was saying wasn’t helping him at all.

“You don’t have to think too much, this is your pack, and we all know you wouldn’t hurt your own people”, I said, patting his shoulder. “Besides, this is just a summon; we will get through it
“One summon is enough for a ruling, Kaia” he said.
“Then, leave it to me. Get files on the villages attacked, the enforcers and everything else you think I should know,” I suggested, and Theo frowned in confusion.
“Why? What do you need them for?” He asked.
“I’m running an investigation with the girls, we need to gather every information and evidence before tomorrow. To defend your case, we need proof to refute their allegations.”
Theo nodded.
“I know we are not married yet, but I’m not letting you go to that council court alone”, I said. “I’m coming with you, maybe not as your Luna but as the mother of your child. Whatever happens to you will affect our child, and I can’t let that happen”
“Alright, I will make arrangements”, Theo managed to say.
“You have a meeting, don’t you?” I asked. “Go ahead, I will use your study while you are away. There are a few things I need
to know”
“Ask for whoever help you might need in your investigation, I will leave everything and come to you,” Theo said, taking my hand.
“There is no need for that. Focus on your meeting. Justine, Maliya, and I would handle things here. Moreover, you bigger fish to fry. Go on now”

Theo kissed my cheeks and left for his meeting in town. He would be back later that night, and I would use the opportunity to gather evidence.
I wore something comfy, walked out of my room and linked Mallya to meet me in Justine’s room. I also linked Justine to let her know we were coming and to prepare.
Before I got there, Maliya and Justine were waiting for me, pacing around.
“What’s going on?” Justine hopped to her feet on seeing me. “Why did you call us here?”
I sat down and drank some water; my throat was dry.
“Theo is in trouble, and we need to come to his rescue,” I said, and they frowned.
“Trouble? What happened to him?”
“The council has summoned him over an allegation of war crimes against a few vulnerable packs turned villages”, I said, and they gasped.
“Alpha Theo would never do that to anyone,” Maliya said. I agreed.
“So, what are we doing here? We should be out there doing something to help, right?” Justine said.
“That’s why we are here, Justine,” I sighed. “It’s safer here. I’m afraid someone might see us in my room”
“Alright, tell us, what can we do to help?” Maliya eagerly awaited
“We only have tonight to gather evidence to help Theo stall the case,” I cleared my throat. “I’ve requested access to the pack

archives. I need us to go through it and find something that could help us
“Oh, that’s easy, let’s go!” Justine grinned,
We sneaked into the archives to avoid being seen. We needed to do this discreetly.
