Chapter 171
–Theo–
I sat there, watching Kaia groan in her sleep.
I had been awake half the night; I couldn’t sleep, knowing that Draven had such misgivings about my mate.
And I wouldn’t want him to disrespect her like that ever again.
Looking at my watch, I saw the time, and I knew I had to leave before Kaia woke up.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t let me push through with my plans.
Gently, I kissed her head and covered her with the blanket.
Then, slowly, I dashed out the door, carefully closing it to avoid waking her.
Soon, I left the pack alone in my jeep.

I had something to take care of, and I had to do it now before everyone woke up. Especially Kaia and Zane, they wouldn’t let me do it otherwise.
The car stopped in front of the hotel, and I got out and straightened my shirt.
I find my way to Draven’s room.
It was my hotel, and I asked Zane to settle him in one of the rooms, so finding him wasn’t that difficult at all.
I knocked on the door a few times before I heard a low growl coming from inside.
Draven must have been still sleeping, and I happened to wake him up.
I dont care, that’s not my problem.
When the door opened, and I saw Draven standing there, rubbing his eyes, I was enraged.
Before I could stop myself, I punched him in the face.
Then, kicked his legs and slammed him into the floor. I pushed into the room and closed the door behind us.
Draven was shocked and couldn’t retaliate in time.
“How dare you come to my pack and accuse my luna of committing a heinous crim by his collar.
“Do you even know how much Kaia has suffered because of you?” I asked.
Draven looked at me, confused.
seething and pulling him up
I wanted to beat the confusion on his face. For everything he made Kaia go through, hitting him wasn’t enough
I wanted to crack his skull and feed his heart to the wild dogs.
“I -1 -” Draven stammered, and I got furious, ready to hit him again.

When he was spewing trash and accusing my mate of attempting to kill his mistress, his voice wasn’t crackly and shaky.
“Now what? You can’t accept that you’ve been stupid and allow Liora to influence your decisions? You cheated on Kaia and still banished her from your pack without considering what would happen to her. Are you even deserving of being an Alpha?.
If you knew you wouldn’t treat her well, you shouldn’t have stolen her from me back then. Kaia means the world to me, and you treated her like she was a replaceable object”
I pulled Draven’s collar tighter, almost choking him, but my anger wasn’t satisfied, and I wanted to draw blood.
Draven didn’t struggle to free himself from my grip, and I wondered if he had already accepted his fate.
I hadn’t even started taking revenge for what he did to Kaia, and he was acting helpless in front of me?
As if that would stop me from making his life a living hell.
“I’m sorry” Draven choked out an apology. I shove him away in annoyance. “It wasn’t my intention to steal her away from you. I really didn’t know you liked her back then. I found out later, after the warrior academy ended and you were gone by then”
“It doesn’t matter if you knew about my feelings for her or not,” I said. “What I don’t get is why you would treat her badly when all she had ever done was love you. She stayed loyal to you and even tried to mend your broken relationship when it was you who cheated on her with Liora”
Tell me, why would you do this to her? Kaia didn’t deserve any of the things you did to her,” I pointed out, and Draven lowered his head. I was furious. “Answer me, you sick bastard!” I yelled, shoving him.
‘Because I wanted an heir!” Draven replied, and I chuckled mockingly. “I wanted an heir to continue the pack after me, and Kaia couldn’t give me what I wanted because she was barren. I was desperate, Theo. You would do the same if you were in my shoes,” Draven said, and I was livid.
‘No, I would never do the same thing you did”, I said, pointing at his face. “Im not like you, Draven. I would never betray a woman who didn’t wrong me because of my desperation. Instead, I would have opted to adopt a child and raise him with my mate as a normal person would!
My fists clenched subconsciously, and I wanted to beat Draven to a pulp, but I had to control myself.
You weren’t remorseful after cheating on Kaia, and you still decided to believe your mist could have happened to her out there if I hadn’t found her first? Rogues could have allo
‘I only banished her because she conspired with rogues to kill Liora!” Draven snapped
Furious. I punched him in the face again. This time, his nose broke, and he was bleeding.
her? Do you know what
‘Are you stupid enough to believe that lie and repeat it anytime someone asks you to take accountability?” I asked, looking at him with disgust. “Kaia wouldn’t work with rogues, knowing it would endanger the pack”
“Are you saying Liora was lying?” Draven scoffed.
He was an irredeemable fool, and I didn’t feel bad for him.
“Obviously,” I said. “Who would benefit from Kaia getting banished?” I asked, and his pupil dilated “There is only one person, and it’s Liora. Conveniently, she found the attackers and got them to reveal who hired them without hassle
Every time Kaia does something bad to her, it’s always her alone who gets to witness it, and when she points tingers at Kata you don’t question it. You believe her and punish Kaia instead.”

“But I had reasons to believe it. There was evidence and witnesses,” Draven desperately said.

“Evidence and witnesses that Liora happened to plant in an attempt to frame Kaia, and you let it succeed because you wanted a way out”, I said through my gritted teeth.
Draven’s face fell listening to me.
“I’m warning you, if I see you accuse my mate of murder again, I will beat you to death. I swear on my dead mother, I wouldn’t think twice about it.
If you don’t want to live a happy life, I don’t want the same for my mate. She’s everything to me, and I want her to be happy, and I don’t care who I have to eliminate for that to happen”
Instead of accusing Kaia, shouldn’t you take your time and reflect on your actions and maybe look into your mate?”
Saying this, I angrily walked out of his room, slamming the door behind me.
By the time I got to the car, my anger had doubled.
Kaia didn’t deserve what they did to her, and I wanted to hurt them back for hurting her.
When I came back to our room, Kaia was still sleeping.
I sighed inwardly, happy that I didn’t have to lie to her about where I had been.
I took a shower, and when I came back, Kaia had woken up.
She was looking at herself in the mirror, and she looked sad.
“Love?” I called out. “What’s up?”
“My head,” she replied. “It’s getting bigger. What am I? A balloon?”
“What? No,” I walked up to her and hugged her from behind. “You are not a balloon. Besides, balloons are so cute. But, seriously, you look like you walk out of a magazine. You are breathtakingly gorgeous”
“Oh, please, Theo, stop flattering me.”Kaia rolled her eyes. “I haven’t even brushed and showered yet”,
“Seriously?” I exclaimed. “And you look this gorgeous? Imagine when you take a shower al get a look at you”
She chuckled and shoved my chest.
“You’re crazy. I can’t believe you have such a sweet talking mouth,” Kaia said.
“As long as it’s for you, I can be anything”, I said and pulled her into a hug. “I love you”
She breathed in my scent silently, and I just held her in my arms.
Deveryone would die to
“I have to go talk to friends,” she announced, breaking the hug. “They must be mad at me for hiding things from them
“You should talk to them,” I encouraged. “But I’m sure they are not mad at you. They would understand why you had in hude it from them. You have to make them understand,” I said, and she nodded, obviously not proud of herself
“Are you sure?” Kaia put her head on my head. “They are my friends, and I hid something so big from them I can’t forgive myself for hurting them”

“You shouldn’t hold yourself accountable for anything,” I said, patting her back. “It wasn’t your fault. The situation forced you to do that. Besides, Maliya and Justine are not shallow-minded, are they?”
“No,” she shook her head.
Then, go talk to them”, I said, and she nodded.
Immediately, she rushed into the shower.
I watched her disappear into the shower. I breathed, silently hoping things would go well between them.
Those two mean the world to her, and I would hate for their friendship to come to an end because of this.
At that moment, my phone buzzed, and I looked at my texts.
I smiled and texted back.
