–Kaia–

“Ladies, can we talk? In Maliya’s room, please. I linked Justine and Maliy together while I walked out of my wing.

“I don’t think we can say no, Luna Kaia. I will meet you in Maliya’s room,” Justine said. She sounded distant, and it broke my heart.

“It’s not-”

Before I could finish my words, Justine had already closed the mindlink.

I wanted to tell her that it was all right if she wasn’t ready to talk to me yet.

I wouldn’t blame them. They are hurt because of what I did, and I would give them space for as long as they needed.

When I reached Maliya’s room, Justine was already there.

She was snacking on oranges, and she didn’t spare me a glance.

Maliya was quiet as well.

I couldn’t tell if she was upset with me. Or she didn’t want to talk.

“Hey,” I muttered, but no response.

Either way, I sat down.

“What are we here for, Luna Kaia?” Justine asked, and my heart broke. “I still have some other things to take care of for my mate. If you don’t mind, can you be snappy with this?”

She didn’t look at me. She stuffed her mouth with oranges.

I knew she was mad, and she was showing me.

She never referred to me as Luna Kaia except when she’s teasing me. But now she was constantly calling me by my title, and I was heartbroken.

Maliya, on the other hand, stood up, poured a glass of juice and handed it over to m

At least, Justine was showing me her anger. Maliya’s silence was eating at my soul, and 1 them so badly.

“I’m sorry,” I mouthed, lowering my head.

“Sorry? Come again?” Justine said.

“I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you the truth sooner,” I said, shaking with regret. “I thought I would tell you when the right time

comes”

“Right time?” Justine scoffed. “And when is that right time, Luna Kaia? Ten years after you mated and have your children running around the pack? When did you think the right moment was?”

She asked, and I kept quiet.

The truth was, I had no idea when the right time was, but I had plans to tell them soon, but Cara and Elara beat me to it.

“I don’t know, I’m sorry”, I said apologetically.

“Do you know how crazy it is that Cara and Elara knew the truth about you before us -Who are supposedly your friends?.

Right, this tells me that you never really considered us your friends. We were just people who were available to keep you company when you are bored”

“That’s not the truth, Justine!” I snapped, tears streaming from my face. “You two mean a lot to me, not just companionship for when I’m bored, alright?! I wanted to tell you that I really tried, but I was afraid of the outcome.

I didn’t want my past to ruin what we have. Besides, I planned to clear my name before revealing my past to you guys. Believe me, I swear, it’s the truth”

I broke down and sobbed my heart out.

All the pain I had been experiencing for days came crashing down on me, and I couldn’t breathe without crying.

So, I let my tears flow down.

“I’m sorry for hiding the truth, I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you this sooner, I didn’t mean to keep things from you. It’s just that the situation was dire and I needed to stay alive”

Slowly, Justine walked up to me and embraced me.

Sobbing, I wrapped my arms around her waist, and she let me cry into her arms.

“Shh, you don’t have to apologise for putting yourself first, Kaia”, Justine said, embracing and patting my back. “You are not to be blamed for anything. That bastard Draven and his vicious mistress, Liora, ruined your life.

If I get my hands on Liora, I’m beating her until she goes into a coma. I don’t care if I get tried for murder, I will kill her with my bare hands first”

I chuckled a little, disengaging from the hug.

“I don’t want you to get locked up in the dungeon because of Liora,” I said. “That won you for a fact, she has a way of manipulating things in her favour.

The dungeon is not a good place to be. I thought I was going to die when I was locked horrible time in the Silvermoon dungeon.

“What? Are you seriously saying that Draven had you locked up in the dungeon?” Justine exclaimed, and I nodded “Draven is worse than a monster. I can’t believe how wicked he was to you”

“He never believed a word I said,” I said depressingly. “Liora was the only person capable of telling the truth, and all I was to him was a liar who tried to kill his mistress and child”

“He cheated on you, and he dared to bring his mistress home in front of you”, Justine said, clenching her knuckles tightly

She was livid. Her eyes flashed with hatred.

“That’s not all,” I said. “When he asked me to step down as Luna so he could make Liora his new Lama, I refused, and he took it as a motive as to why I would harm Liora.

He flaunted her in front of me and his pack, the same pack I defended and bled for, supported him. They hated me and tried to kill me

I didn’t know when I burst into tears again. I sobbed vigorously.

My body was shaking, and I felt an arm wrapped around me.

“I’m sorry, Kaia” I looked up and saw Maliya hugging me. “You went through so much, and we were being petty for no reason. I’m sorry that you had to endure so much pain because of your mate, who dared to cheat on you in your own home”

“Draven deserves to die,” Justine chimed in, seething. “I can’t believe the nerve of him to come here and accuse you of lying and manipulation”

“It’s okay, I’m used to his accusations by now”, I mouthed, wiping my face. “They don’t hurt me anymore. Besides, I don’t think we will be seeing him for a long time. I gave him a piece of my mind and warned him to stay away from me”

“Good. I wouldn’t want a shameless man like him to ruin the new life you are trying to build with Theo,” Maliya said.

I nodded, I feel the same way too.

‘I can’t imagine how rotten the Silvermoon pack is if a man like Draven is their Alpha”, Justine spat with disdain.

I guess they are not much different from each other. Every single person I knew and helped back then turned their backs on me.” I gritted my teeth.

‘I don’t feel bad for any of them. I hope they get what they deserve,” Justine said.

What are your plans now?” Maliya asked. “The council will not take this lightly. It’s a big problem, and it would be taken to he council court”

‘I know, and I’m ready to face whatever challenges pop up in court”, I firmly said.

And you have us. We will support you every step of the way,” Justine said. She hugged me, and Maliya joined in.

After we broke the hug, Maliya wiped my face.

“You’ll find out soon,” I said, and Justine gruffly agreed.

When we reached Cara’s room, she was chatting with Elara. I ordered my kappa to drag them to their knees.

They protested and challenged me, but I stood there, calmly watching them lose their minds.

“What do you think you are doing, Kaia?” Cara asked. “You wicked woman, you’re not even a true Luna. How dare you treat the council Queen like this?”

1 scoffed, walked up to her and shifted her face with a tip of my finger.

“Whether you like it or not, I’m the Luna of this pack and you? -You are just a council queen, which holds no weight around here. Listen, either you respect me as your Luna, or I’ll make you do it”

“Is this how a Luna behaves?” Elara chuckled. “We are better off without a Luna than.”

“Yeah, right!” I nodded and turned to face Elara. “Is that why you’re doing everything in your powers to get Theo back?”

Elara looked away, feeling embarrassed as she should.

“Bring the plates, boys!” I clapped, and the kappa entered, carrying four large bowls.

They set the bowls down in front of Cara and Elara, who were kneeling on the floor.

“Thank you, Kappas. You can leave now”

Their eyes panned to their bowls, and they looked up at me with disbelief.

“What is this?” Elara asked first.

“You’re going to do something special for the two of you, and you are not allowed to refuse”, I warned.

“What? We don’t want this,” Cara said, cringing.

“You don’t have a choice, darling”, I grinned. “Unless you want Kingsley to know you’ve been snooping through his wealth”

That shut her up. Cara shrank, and I wanted to laugh.

“I mixed some of your favourite foods with the gunk from the kitchen. It might be a limi it”

“Please don’t do this to us, I’m begging you,” Cara pleaded.

“You should have thought of that before humiliating me in front of the whole pack”, I retorted, seething

“I won’t eat this. It’s disgusting. How can you be so heartless!” Elara chided me, and I chuckled

“Shall I tell Lucien your dirty little secret?” I asked, and her face fell. “You don’t want that, do you?” She fell silent, and I got my answer. “Good”

I sauntered around them, and they breathed fearfully when I stopped.

“Now, eat!”
