“Did you see their faces?” Justine couldn’t hold her laugh. “They literally died and woke up again while eating that gunk you made them eat”

“I didn’t think they would eat it, but they did,” Maliya pointed out. “I can’t help but wonder what you hold against them. I never thought a day would come when Cara and Elara would do anyone’s bidding”

I smirked, remembering how weirded out they were when eating the food.

They cried and threw up, but I didn’t care. I wanted to humiliate them the way they had humiliated me, and I took my revenge.

I know the grudges those two hold against me have increased tenfold, but I don’t care.

“It’s what they get for going against me,” I mouthed, puckering my lips. “If they want trouble, I will give them just that. Trust me, I won’t lie down and let them trample on me”

“I know, right?” Justine high-fived me. “And I’m very proud of you for that”

When we reached the beta wing, I bid them farewell, and I left.

I had to see Theo and come up with a plan to defeat those two in the court. Because I know they would do everything in their power to ruin me.

Especially after what I did to them. They won’t let me get away with it.

Reaching my room, I realised Theo wasn’t back yet.

I didn’t think much of it. I just took a bath.

I sat in the bathtub and let the water wash my lower body. I needed the water to cook my body down.

The past three days had been hard on me, and I hadn’t had time to sit down in a bathtub and enjoy a glass of

wine.

I picked up my glass of non-alcoholic wine and sipped from it.

After a while, I left the shower and got dressed.

Surprisingly, Theo was there when I came out.

When he saw me, his face lit up with a big smile, and I smiled back.

He stood up and picked me up, twirling around the room.

I laughed because he was tickling me, and I loved it.

I kissed his lips when he dropped me on the bed. Then, he lowered himself and crashed into my legs and kissed me hungrily.

Before I knew it, we were sprawled on the bed, making out passionately.

Theo made love to me repeatedly, and I came many times.

After that, we lay down on the bed, facing each other.

I curled into Theo’s chest, still trying to catch my breath, my body warm and pressed against him.

For the first time in the past three days, I felt light. It felt as if the world had stopped trying to crush me.

“Hey,” he murmured, fingertips tracing lazy circles on my waist. “How are you feeling, baby? I mean, after everything?”

I smiled before I could stop myself.

“Happy,” I said softly. “And I’m not letting anything or anyone ruin that. Not anymore.”

Theo’s jaw tightened instantly.

“Good. Because Draven is a fucking fool. Letting Liora twist his head? Pathetic.”

I sighed, but not out of sadness, more out of acceptance, the kind that doesn’t hurt anymore.

“I won’t blame Liora,” I said. “Draven was the one mated to me. He owed me loyalty but chose to listen to her. That’s on him, not her.”

Theo pulled back just enough to look at me, his eyes dark and protective.

“Still doesn’t change the fact that he threw away the best damn thing he ever had,” he muttered.

I laughed quietly and traced his jaw with my fingers.

“Maybe he did,” I whispered. “But I didn’t. I chose you. If he hadn’t done what he did, I wouldn’t have found you.”

And the way Theo’s breath caught, I knew he felt it too.

That shift, I was certain that was the beginning of something great between us.

Theo scoffed instantly, rolling his eyes so hard I laughed.

“That idiot should be damn grateful you even speak to him,” he muttered. “Draven’s a walking disappointment. If he tries anything again, I swear-”

I placed a hand on his chest, amusement warming my voice.

“Theo, stop.” I mouthed. It

“What? You know I’m right.”

“I didn’t say you weren’t,” I replied, leaning in to kiss him lightly. “I’m just done letting people like him get in

Theo’s expression softened at that. I saw a sense of pride, relief, and a hint of awe flickering through.

He brushed a strand of hair from my face.

“Good,” he whispered. “Because you deserve this happiness. And I’m not letting anyone steal it from you either.”

My heart fluttered, steady and sure of exactly what I was feeling.

I looked at him, smiling and tracing his lips.

He was handsome, and he was mine; it’s unbelievable.

Theo noticed me gawking at him, and I took my hand and kissed my knuckles.

Blushing, I shoved him away, laughing.

After a while, I exhaled slowly, grounding myself.

“Alright,” I said, lifting my chin. “You’ve said your piece about Draven. Now tell me, what’s your plan? Because the council will certainly summon us to court. They’ll question everything, the legitimacy of our marriage, my Lunacy.” My voice softened, but the warning beneath it was razor-sharp. “You know they will not let this slide.”

Theo didn’t look surprised. If anything, he looked like he’d been waiting for me to get to this point.

“They will,” he agreed. “The council has been dying for an excuse to dig their claws into us.” He folded his arms, gaze locked on mine. “But I’m prepared for that. I’ve been preparing since the day Cara and Elara publicly announced your past. I knew what they meant by doing that, and I won’t let them succeed in separating us”

I blinked. “What do you mean?”

Theo stepped closer, close enough that I could feel the heat radiating off him, but not close enough to crowd me. Just enough to make my pulse jump.

“I needed a partner who wouldn’t crumble,” he said quietly. “Someone smart enough to see the politics in everything. Someone who could walk into the council hall and make them think twice before speaking to her like she’s nothing.”

I swallowed, and my throat suddenly felt dry. “Theo-”

“As for legitimacy?” He cut in smoothly. “We did everything by the laws of the land. They can question it, but they can’t undo it.”

“And my Lunacy?” I pressed. “You know that’s where they’ll aim first. They’ll want proof I can handle the bond. Proof I won’t become a danger.”

A slow, calculated smile touched Theo’s lips.

My brows knit together. “Theo, what are you talking about?”

“I have evidence,” he said. “Testimonies and proof. Legal loopholes they hoped no one would ever find. The council wants a spectacle? I’ll give them one. And when we walk out of that courtroom, they’ll realise exactly who they picked a fight with.”

The confidence rolling off him was enough to steady my nerves, but also enough to terrify me.

I exhaled. “So your plan is… war?”

His eyes softened, and he took my hand, squeezing it gently. “No, Kaia. My plan is victory, and I’ll make sure of it. I promise, nobody can stop you from being my Luna.”
