The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 178

Chapter 178

–Elara–

I thought I hit the jackpot when I found evidence against Kaia.

The fact that she was once mated to another alpha was enough to convince the council to unseat her.

For once, I thought I would finally bury her chapter once and for all.

How could I have known that she was a stubborn fly to kill?

Somehow, she managed to escape from my grip again.

I wasn’t expecting Theo to come to her rescue once again.

That woman was a dead snake, and she was after my life, and if I don’t do anything about it. I will be thrown out of this pack with nothing but my dirty shoes.

Not only did she make me eat gunk, but she also humiliated me.

If I don’t make her life miserable, I will never feel good about myself again.

I cringed with rage when I remembered how she made me stuff my mouth with that gross, stinky stuff.

Kaia wanted to hit me where it hurts the most, and she did.

Now, it’s my turn. I will make her feel what I felt, and even more.

I paced around in my room, contemplating what to do.

When someone opened my door without knocking, I freaked out.

Cara slammed the door the moment she entered my room.

I looked at her with surprise. She stared back at me, and I could see she wasn’t in the best mood.

Her face was red, and her eyes wild, and she was breathing as if she had just crushed someone to death, and I couldn’t help feeling scared instantly.

“He threatened me!” she hissed, pacing like an unhinged cat. “That ungrateful boy, he threatened to banish me in front of Kingsley!”

“What? He did what?” I folded my arms.

“Theo,” Cara gritted her teeth. “That little bastard”

“What exactly did you expect after humiliating his Luna?” I asked, shrugging.

Deep down, I was worried it would be my turn next.

“He defended her,” Cara spat out, as if she were spitting venom. “He defended that… that witch. After everything I’ve done for this pack, he dares to speak to me like I’m trash?”

“You are trash,” I muttered under my breath.

“What?” she snapped.

“Nothing. Continue.” I urged.

She resumed her pacing. She dug her fingers into her hair, messy, ruffling it in rage.

“I will not let him get away with this. I will make him cry in pain, Elara. Trust me, Theo would wish he hadn’t threatened me today”

My stomach clenched. Cara being angry was one thing, but Cara feeling humiliated?

A whole new level of dangerousness, and she can do anything in this state.

“Relax,” I said, trying to calm her before she exploded again. “We can still turn this around. I have an idea-”

Her head whipped toward me.

‘Oh, another idea?” she mocked. “Tell me, Elara… which one? The plan where you tried to break up Theo and that girl? The plan where you masked their bond and caused a scene? The plan where Kaia is still alive, still Luna, and you’re still irrelevant?”

I stiffened; my heart was pounding with anger.

‘That’s not fair,” I mumbled. “You have no right to say that to me, Cara”

Cara stepped closer, her eyes blazing.

‘Every single one of your ideas has failed miserably. You can’t even get rid of one girl. One! But you want to give me advice?”

I clenched my jaw, stung but refused to show it.

‘We’re in this together, Cara.”

‘No,” she snapped, shaking her head at me. “We are in this mess because your magic is sloppy and you couldn’t do a single task right.”

She let out a sharp, humourless laugh. “Theo should have rejected her, and yet he’s even more obsessed. You probably made a spell to bring them closer instead of pulling them apart.”

Cara was still fuming when I finally spoke again.

“You know,” I said slowly, “you shouldn’t blame me alone. Why wasn’t I informed that the law was updated? If the council changed something that major, someone should have told us.”

Cara snapped her head toward me.

“And how would I have known? I wasn’t informed either!”

“Oh, please,” I scoffed. “You act like you have ears everywhere in this pack. Isn’t that your speciality? Snooping and manipulating people to work for you? How come you didn’t know about this when it happened two years ago?”

Cara glared at me, seething.

“At least I don’t rely on magic to fix every problem. Maybe if your spells actually worked, we wouldn’t be in this mess!”

“Cara, maybe if you kept your mouth shut instead of provoking Theo every chance you get, you wouldn’t be threatened with banishment.”

Her jaw dropped.

“You dare blame me for that boy’s disrespect?”

“That ‘boy”,” I said with a mocking tilt of my head, “is the Alpha. The one who can throw you out is with one decree.”

Cara’s nostrils flared. I know she knows that I was right, and the truth was making her angrier.

Because if Lucien were Alpha, none of this would have happened.

“And you think hiding behind your spells makes you smarter? You didn’t even know the law had changed. What kind of strategist doesn’t know the basics?”

I let out a bitter laugh.

“Oh, and you did? Please. You were just as clueless. Don’t pretend you’re above me.”

Cara stepped closer, eyes burning.

“At least I admit when something blindsides me.”

“Do you?” I retorted. “Because right now you’re acting like this is all my fault when your stepson hates you, and you’ve lost every ounce of control you thought you had.”

She gasped, obviously offended by me. She looked furious and wounded.

‘You little-”

‘Enough,” I cut in. “We can argue all day, but it won’t change anything. We both missed the law change. Maybe we should igree that we both messed up. And now, we need a plan that won’t blow up in our faces again.”

Cara clenched her fists, but she didn’t walk away.

She hated the truth, but she couldn’t deny it.

Finally, she hissed through her teeth,

‘Fine. But next time, let’s not let the entire council make fools out of us.”

I smirked faintly.

‘Then stop acting like one.”

Cara glared, but she didn’t respond. Because she knew I was right.

I bit back my anger. “Do you want a solution or do you want to keep insulting me?”

Cara folded her arms tightly across her chest, chin high, still seething.

“Fine,” she muttered. “We need a new plan. Something smarter that cannot be traced back to us. I don’t want Something that would backfire on us like it did the last time”

I raised an eyebrow sharply.

“Oh? So now you want my help?”

Cara scoffed.

“I want results. Your magic may be sloppy, but it’s still working a little. And Kaia isn’t as weak as we thought.”

“She’s too strong,” I admitted. “And if Theo senses even a flicker of danger around her again, we’re finished.”

Cara’s nostrils flared at the mention of Theo.

She hated him, and I know that too.

“That boy thinks threatening me will make me run? I raised him. He was nothing until I came into this house.”

I tilted my head. “You keep telling yourself that.”

She glared viciously, but I continued before she could explode.

“We can’t attack Kaia physically,” I began. “Theo will rip us apart. But we can attack their image. If we can’t break them up from the inside, we break them from the outside.”

Cara slowly smirked. “So… a scandal.”

‘A scandal,” I confirmed.

‘A big one.”

Her rage softened into something darker; her eyes blinked brightly.

Now that…” she murmured, “sounds more like it.”

The council is already suspicious. Theo humiliated them today. They’ll be looking for anything to blame him for.”

Cara blinked, then slowly smiled.
