The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 180

Chapter 180

–Theo–

It was 3am when I got back.

I was caught up with work and got home late.

Entering my bedroom, I saw Kaia sleeping.

She looked tired, and I decided to let her rest peacefully.

Ramos gave us a lead and we went after the people he mentioned.

Thankfully, it went well and we got a few culprits.

With a few tortures, they would spill out the truth.

Once I got my hands on these people, I would finally get to the mastermind behind everyone, the master.

I could feel that it won’t take very long now.

I took off my jacket and stared at my luna, and I leaned in to kiss her bump. It’s growing really fast.

I can’t believe, Kaia and I are married now. And she’s officially my Luna too, without her, I wouldn’t be here. And soon, we will have our baby and our family will be complete.

After a while, I took a shower and slept off.

When I woke up the next morning, I saw Kaia snuggled up in my arms.

I pulled her closer and kissed her forehead. She stirred and groaned in her sleep, then she woke up.

“Hey,” I mouthed, smiling at her.

“Darling, you’re… back?” she asked with eyes wide and she was still cracky from sleep.

I scrubbed a hand over my face and pushed myself up on an elbow. “Yeah. Just got in not long ago.”

Her brows drew together. “When? I didn’t even hear you.”

“You were asleep,” I said with a short, tired laugh. “I walked in, saw you knocked out, and the next thing I knew, I passed out right next to you.”

Honestly, I didn’t even remember lying down. My body just gave out the moment I saw her safe.

She shifted closer, concern written all over her. “How did things go?”

I let out a slow breath, letting out the tension in my chest.

“It was messy,” I admitted. “It was harder than I expected. Everyone was on edge, and I had to clean up a lot more than I expected. Thankfully, everyone did their best and we got a huge break.”

Kaia’s expression softened, but something flickered behind her eyes.

Something she wasn’t telling me.

I rested my hand on her cheek. “Kaia, you sure everything’s okay here?”

She hesitated, just for a second, then nodded. “Mm-hm. Nothing happened. I just… missed you.”

Kaia drew closer and snuggled in my arms, and I let her in.

She was lying. I knew her too well. Something was bothering her but she didn’t want to say it.

But I didn’t push.

I pulled her gently into my chest, breathing her in.

“Well,” I murmured, pressing a kiss to her head, “I’m back now. And I’m not going anywhere tonight.”

“So, you’re spending the whole day with me, aren’t you, Alpha?” Kaia asked, winking at me.

“More than you can imagine,” I said and kissed her neck, where her mark was and she was tickled.

She hugged my arms and laughed into my chest.

“I’m glad you are here,” Kaia said.

“I know,” I poked her nose a little. “I won’t leave you alone again. Unless, it’s necessary”

Kaia looked at me and nodded.

“Kaia,” I said quietly, “Ramos’s tip, it actually led somewhere.”

Her eyes lifted, alert. “It did?”

I nodded, jaw tightening as the details replayed in my head.

“Yeah. We tracked the trail he gave us and picked up a few men who were part of the terror group. Low-level, but connected.”

Kaia’s breath caught. “The same group that attacked your pack before?”

“Exactly.” My voice dropped, coldly. “We finally have something solid. And I’m not letting them slip through our hands.”

She swallowed, searching my face. “So what… what happens now?”

I leaned back against the headboard, running a hand through my hair.

The exhaustion was burying me deep, but the rage I felt was bigger than anything.

“I’m going to break them,” I said simply. “One by one, until they spit out who’s pulling the strings.”

Her eyes widened slightly, not in fear of me, but in understanding of the weight behind my words.

“The real mastermind is still out there,” I continued. “And I don’t give a damn how long it takes or what I have to do… I will

find them.”

Kaia touched my arm gently. “Theo…”

“I need this, Kaia.” I looked at her fully. “I need to know who’s been targeting my pack. Targeting you. Someone thinks they’re safe hiding behind pawns, but I’ll drag them into the open.”

She didn’t argue. She didn’t try to soften me. She only nodded slowly, eyes steady.

“Just be careful,” she whispered. “Please.”

“I will,” I promised, leaning forward and pressing a slow kiss to her forehead. “But I’m not stopping until every last one of them is exposed.”

Kaia stayed quiet for a moment, studying me in silence. I could tell she was worried, but she was holding it in, for me.

And I was grateful for that.

I brushed my thumb along her cheek, trying to ease the tension I saw there.

“They talked a little,” I continued, letting my voice drop a little. “Not enough. But enough to know they weren’t acting alone. Someone smarter is in charge. Someone with resources and a personal grudge.”

Kaia’s brows drew together. “Against your pack?”

“Against us,” I corrected. “Against you, too. The threatening letter you got tells me that they are not just after my pack alone.”

Just saying it made my wolf snarl inside.

Her fingers tightened around my wrist, I didn’t realise I had been trembling with rage.

“I don’t want you scared,” I said, cupping her hand now. “That’s why I didn’t wait until morning. I needed to come back to you, to make sure you were safe.”

Her expression softened at that. “Theo, I’m fine. I promise.”

“You say that,” I muttered, “but something in my gut feels off. And until I know who’s behind all this, I can’t let my guard down.”

Kaia hesitated, her eyes flicking away for a heartbeat, like she was hiding something, but then she forced a small smile.

“I trust you,” she whispered.

She patted the back of my hand and my heart felt better. The rage I felt calmed down a little, and I could finally breathe well. again.

I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her onto my lap, needing her closer after the long night. She let out a soft breath but didn’t resist, resting her head on my shoulder.

My arms captured her hard nipples and I caressed them softly while she moaned in my ear, making me feel hard.

My cock pressed against my pants, and I knew Kaia could feel it tugging at her pussy.

Before I knew it, I captured her lips in a fiery kiss.

We kissed for a minute, and soon, I made her straddle me. With her back turned to me.

I guided her through until she inserted my cock into her wet pussy and began riding me.

She tilted her head, pleasure shooting through her while she moaned.

We made love until we came separately and were satisfied.

Then, we lay on the bed, catching our breath.

I pulled my wife onto my chest, and she had her hand on my chest.

“I’m going back to the cells tonight,” I said against her hair. “They’ll break eventually.”

She nodded slowly. “I know you’ll get to the bottom of it. Just come back to me afterwards, okay?”

I tilted her chin up and kissed her gently – a promising gesture.

She was mine, and I will not hurt her.

“Always,” I murmured. “There’s nowhere else I’d rather ever want to be”

Kaia’s body relaxed a little in my arms, but the worry in her eyes didn’t disappear. She tried to hide it.

I cupped the back of her head and pressed a kiss to her temple.

“You didn’t sleep well,” I murmured.

She stiffened for a second, then sighed. “I’m fine.”

She’s such a bad liar. My sweet stubborn little liar.

“Kaia.”

She looked up, and I brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

“Talk to me,” I urged. “If you are worried about anything, you can always tell me”

Her lips parted but then she shook her head.

“It’s nothing serious. You already have enough to worry about.”

That only made something dark curl inside me.

“You’re my mate,” I said firmly. “Your safety is my priority, not a burden.”

Her eyes softened again. It killed me how gentle she could be even after everything she’s endured.

“I know,” she whispered. “I just… didn’t want to distract you from important things.”
