Chapter 203
~~Draven~~
The pack felt different when I returned home.
Everything looked the same, but none of it sat right anymore.
It felt as if I were standing in a place I no longer recognised.
Kaia was on my mind the entire journey home, and I wonder what she is going through now.
I hurt her without thinking twice, and now she was the target of the terrorist group.
I felt bad for her, and I hate myself for what I did to her.
When I was about to step into the house, I heard Liora laughing loudly with my sister, and I stopped in my
tracks.
For a brief moment, something dark crept into my chest.
All the lies she told me came crashing back, and I clenched my fists tightly.
She lied to me. Faked her tears and lied against Kais and manipulated me into banishing her.
Theo was right; I wanted to believe her accusations against Kaia, and I did.
My jaw tightened; all I wanted to do was confront her and make her tell the truth.
But I kicked it against it.
Because if I were right, if even half of what I’d uncovered was true, then rushing her would only make her hide the truth from me, and I needed the truth.
I want to know everything she lied about me.
“Oh, darling,” Liora’s eyes lit up when she saw me.
She came to hug me, and I smiled, hugging her back. I tried to keep my behaviour in check.
“How was your trip?” she asked, smiling.
“It was okay,” I said, yawning. “It was a long one, I’m tired.”
“I can see it on your face,” Liora said, kissing my face. “You should get some rest first”
“Sure,” I said, kissing her forehead. “I love you”
When I returned to my room, I washed up and changed into something comfortable.
I was about to keep when I heard someone in my head.
“Alpha.”
I turned, and it was Rylan.
“I need to see you right, it’s urgent, He said, and I got up immediately.
“I will be with you in a minute”, I said, took my jacket and headed out.
My Beta stood at the entrance of the hall, his expression serious.
“What is it?” I asked.
“We have an update,” he said, stepping closer. “About the attackers.”
My posture straightened instantly.
“What about it?” I asked.
“We tracked down a group of rogues tied to the recent attacks,” Rylan continued. “The scouts captured two of them alive.”
“What?” My eyes darkened.

“Yes, Alpha.” His voice dropped slightly. “And they’re willing to talk.”
A cold feeling settled in my gut.
“About what?”
“The rogues confessed that they were paid,” Rylan hesitated, then he said. “Bribed to testify against Luna Kaia during her trial.”
Everything inside me went still.
“…what?”
“They admitted the entire thing was staged,” Rylan continued. “The attack, accusation and the evidence presented.”
My breath left me slowly; it felt like something had just been ripped out of my chest.
“They said they were given instructions,” he added. “Told exactly what to say and when to say it.”
My hands curled into fists.
“Who gave them those instructions?”
Rylan shook his head.
“They didn’t name anyone directly. Said they never met the person face-to-face. Only that the orders came through intermediaries tied to a larger group.”
It must be the terror group. It had to be.
And if Liora was connected to them then? My chest tightened thinking of this.
“I want to see them,” I said immediately.
Rylan nodded. “They’re being held in the lower cells.”
I led the way before Rylan could answer.
Walking towards the cells, my body felt heavy, and my heart felt like it was clawing at my chest.
Deep down, I already knew what I was going to hear.
And I wasn’t sure I was ready for it.
“Alpha-” Rylan called out, but I raised a hand, stopping him.
“Take me to them,” I ordered.
Rylan fell into step beside me.
“Yes, Alpha.”
As we plunged toward the cells, one thought kept repeating in my head: Kaia told me the truth.
And I-I chose not to listen.
The moment I stepped into the lower cells, the air changed.
The place reeked of blood, fear and rogue’s rotten smell, and I gagged.
My wolf stirred, clearly disgusted by the sight.
Two rogues were chained to the wall, bloody and badly bruised. They could barely look up.
The sight of them alone should’ve satisfied something in me.
But I couldn’t feel better about it after everything I’ve come to know.
Rylan stood behind me, silent.
I stepped forward.
“You lied to me,” I said coldly.
One of them flinched.

I didn’t give them time to speak. My fist collided with the first rogue’s jaw.
The crack echoed through the cell, and he hit the wall hard.
“Do you have any idea what you’ve done?” I snapped, grabbing him by the collar and yanking him up. “Do you understand what your lies cost her?”
The second rogue shifted, panic flashing in his eyes. “Alpha, please wait-”
I turned on him instantly.
“You don’t get to speak yet.”
My wolf surged beneath my skin. Anger, betrayal and shame all twisted together until it was hard to breathe through it.
Kaia’s face flashed in my mind.
I remember how much she begged and cried in front of me, telling me she didn’t do it, and I didn’t listen to her.
I hit the first rogue again, harder and harder each time my fist collided with his jaw.
“Who told you to frame her?” They refused to say anything, which fueled my anger more. “I’m not asking again.”
The rogue coughed, blood spilling from his mouth.
“It wasn’t our idea,” he rasped.
My grip tightened.
“I know,” I said, coldly. “That’s why I’m asking for the mastermind. If you don’t tell the truth, I won’t let you live. Say it.”
His eyes darted to the second rogue, then back to me.
“We have no idea who the real mastermind is, your grace, The first rogue said. “We didn’t have direct contact with the person”
I scoffed, hearing this, and I grabbed the second rogue roughly.
Rage shot through me, and I knew I would kill him if they Dont say the truth the next time I ask.
“Do you take me for a fool?” I asked, tightening my grip. “I’m giving you one last chance, and if you lie to me, I will rip your throats out”
Dear gripped them, and they looked at each other, playing their cards; they knew what would happen, and they thought about it.
“Who asked you to frame Luna Kaia?” I asked again.
“…Liora.” The first rogue said, and my ears rang.
For a second, I thought I misheard.
“… What did you say?” My voice dropped dangerously low.
