The packs outcast Luna (Kaia and Theo) novel Chapter 69

Chapter 69

–Theo–

I returned to my chamber after the meetings.

Then Kaia walked in with Maliya, carrying a bowl of herbal soup.

Kaia has been taking care of me since my last accident.

“Oh, you’re back?” Kaia’s face lit up when she saw me. “Look, I brought you hot herbal soup, you need to drink it now”

“Thank you, Kaia.” I collected it. “You didn’t have to take the trouble”

“Of course, it’s no trouble at all,” Kaia said.

Kaia turned to Maliya and asked her to leave.

“Sp, how did the meeting go?” she asked, pouring me some water.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better ending,” I said, sipping the soup. “The circle has…..”

I told her the verdict slowly, watching her face as the weight of it settled in.

“Both the circle and the council have agreed. Kaia, you would be my Luna.”

For a heartbeat, she didn’t move.

Then her eyes softened, polished with emotion, and she stepped closer like she needed to be sure I was telling the truth.

“So it’s done,” she whispered. “They can’t take this back?”

“No,” I said. “Not without tearing the pack apart.”

She exhaled shakily and pressed her forehead to my chest.

The contact alone made my heart stutter, not painfully this time, but with something dangerously hot.

“I was so scared,” she admitted. “When everything went wrong… I thought I’d lose you forever.”

I cupped her face, forcing her to look at me. “You won’t,” I said, more firmly than I felt. “Not in this lifetime and even if I die, I will die fighting for you”

Her fingers curled into my shirt as if anchoring herself to me.

“Your heart,” she said softly. “It’s beating fast. You’ve been pushing yourself again. Dont get too worked up”

“It always beats fast when you’re near,” I said, the truth slipping out before I could stop it. “Dont worry, I’m

fine”

:

She didn’t believe me. I could see it in her eyes.

“You always say that, Theo” she muttered.

I brushed my thumb over her cheek. “Because I don’t want you afraid every time you look at me.”

Her voice dropped. “I’m afraid anyway. But I still want you.”

That honesty hit harder than anything I ever felt.

Before I could answer, she rose on her toes and kissed me.

It wasn’t cautious and gentle.

It was desperate, relieved, full of everything we’d been holding back. I kissed her back without thinking, my hands finding her waist, pulling her closer until there was no space left between us.

Her warmth soaked into me. Her scent wrapped around my senses, grounding me, claiming me.

She broke the kiss just long enough to whisper, “If you need to stop-”

“I don’t,” I said, leaning my forehead against hers. “Just… stay with me.”

Her answer was another kiss, slower this time, deeper.

My heart raced, but I didn’t pull away. I refused to. If this were greed, then I’d live with it.

She laughed softly against my mouth. “You’re stubborn.”

“I’m Alpha,” I murmured. “It’s a requirement.”

Her hands slid up my chest, and for a moment, the world narrowed to her breath, her touch, the way she fit against me like she always belonged there.

I knew I should be careful because I knew my body had limits.

But standing there with her, feeling chosen, feeling wanted despite everything… I couldn’t bring myself to regret a single second.

If my heart was racing, I wanted it racing for her.

–Kaia–

When Theo told me the Council’s decision, my chest felt too tight to breathe.

Luna.

The word echoed in my head like it was strange.

If I said it out loud it would shatter.

I looked into Theo’s eyes, searching for doubt, for that careful distance he used when he was trying to protect me from disappointment.

There was nothing there.

“They agreed,” he said quietly. “They can’t force Elara on me anymore.”

My hands trembled before I could stop them.

I pressed them flat against his chest, feeling his heartbeat beneath my palm.

Strong. Fast, a little too fast.

“You didn’t have to fight them so hard,” I whispered. “Not for me.”

His hand covered mine. “There is no not for you.”

Something inside me broke open at that.

I leaned into him, resting my forehead against his collarbone, breathing him in.

The pack, the Council, Elara and everything else faded until it was just us standing there, holding onto each other as we had almost lost something precious to us.

“I was scared,” I admitted. “When everything went wrong on the full moon… I thought maybe the pack was right. Maybe I didn’t belong here.”

Theo’s fingers tilted my chin up gently. “Don’t ever think that again.” His voice was rough, like it cost him something to say. “You belong here, with me.”

I swallowed, looking at his handsome face.

“Your heart,” I said softly. “You keep pretending it doesn’t matter. Don’t overwork yourself.”

His jaw tightened, but he didn’t pull away.

“I don’t want you looking at me like I’m fragile,” he said.

“I don’t,” I replied immediately. “I look at you like you’re alive. And that scares me more. I need you”

For a moment, neither of us spoke. Then I kissed him.

It wasn’t planned. It was relief spilling over, all the fear and longing I’d swallowed finally demanding space.

He kissed me back just as fiercely, his hands steady on my waist as if he was grounding himself.through me.

When we broke apart, our foreheads stayed together.

“If you need to stop,” I whispered, repeating the words I’d rehearsed a thousand times in my head, “you tell

me.”

His breath brushed my lips. “I don’t want to stop.”

I smiled softly. “Then don’t disappear on me.”

“I won’t,” he promised. “Not tonight, if my heart gives out, I won’t disappear on you.”

I knew his heart was racing. I could feel it.

Maybe I shouldn’t worry so much but I can’t risk his life for anything.

But standing there with his hands cupping my breasts, chosen and wanted despite everything, all I could think was about him.

But if loving him meant risk, then I would still choose him.

I tiptoed and kissed him hungrily, moaning into his mouth.

I could smell my arousal when his hand brushed against my nipple.

He leaned close and nibbled on my ear, making me shudder.

“You are so beautiful, Kaia,” Theo breathily said into my ear, his breath fanning my neck.

He licked my ear. Gosh, this is torture.

“Theo, I can’t take this teasing anymore” I said, my eyes reaching my ears. “I want you now. Please!”

“Alright, darling. I will ease your wet pussy now”
