Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 305

"Eleanor is unconscious right now, so I'm leaving. Call me the second she wakes up, and I'll come back."

With that, she tossed the crumpled tissue into the trash bin and turned to walk out.

Julian stared down at the discarded tissue, his jaw clenching in extreme displeasure.

His gaze snapped up to meet hers.

"You played the loving partner beautifully just a moment ago, and now you're pure ice. Is this how it's going to be from now on? A perfect, devoted couple in front of an audience, and strangers behind closed doors?"

"That's not what this is!"

Clara stopped dead in her tracks and whipped around to face him.

Julian's dark eyes flickered.

A mocking, bitter smile tugged at her lips. "Julian, this was the absolute last time I will ever put on an act for you. From now on, you walk your path, and I'll walk mine. There is no 'us' anymore."

Julian's expression turned terrifyingly bleak. "What are you talking about, Clara? Are you seriously throwing everything away just because I helped Seraphina out a few times? I've explained this to you over and over again—there is nothing going on between me and her!"

Clara listened to his outburst in total silence. Her spirit was entirely broken. Hearing him act so unapologetically arrogant, so utterly self-righteous even when he was completely in the wrong, she didn't feel angry or wronged anymore. Instead, an eerie calm settled over her.

She gave him a hollow smile, completely void of the energy to argue.

"I mean exactly what I said."

And with that, she walked out the door.

Julian's frown deepened into a vicious scowl. He didn't chase after her. His innate, unbreakable pride refused to let him beg like a dog for a second time in one day.

But as he watched her slender figure disappear down the hallway, a suffocating, terrifying panic clawed at his throat.

It was a visceral dread—sharper and more devastating than anything he had ever felt before.

Julian massaged his temples, trying to banish the overwhelming frustration. Suddenly, his phone buzzed.

Thinking it might be a message from Clara, he eagerly yanked it out of his pocket to check the screen.

But it was just a mundane work update from Arthur.

The light in Julian's eyes instantly died.

After firing off a brief, curt reply to his assistant, he swiped over to his message thread with Clara.

The screen was a pathetic display of his own desperation—dozens of texts sent by him, with absolute radio silence from her end.
