Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 102

The conference ended on a high note, but the crowd refused to disperse.

A large group immediately swarmed Seraphina.

"Ms. Sinclair, would you mind exchanging contact info? Our firm is incredibly interested in your project."

"Ms. Sinclair, I'm the Vice President of Farpoint Energy. I'd love to schedule a time to speak with you in detail."

Business cards were thrust into her face, one after another, nearly drowning her in paper.

Seraphina kept a polite smile on her face, silently panicking, when Julian stepped in, throwing a protective arm out to shield her.

"Everyone, please. Ms. Sinclair is exhausted today. All follow-up partnerships will be handled through our official channels. Please head home for now, and our representatives will be in touch."

His tone was polite but left no room for argument as he effectively blocked the overly enthusiastic crowd.

He escorted Seraphina toward the backstage area, while relentless questions still echoed behind them.

"Ms. Sinclair, when will you be available?"

"At least leave us a phone number, Ms. Sinclair!"

Without looking back, Julian waved them off and pulled the final door shut, sealing away the noise.

The corridor fell blissfully silent. Julian finally let out a sigh of relief and turned to Seraphina. "Wow, Seraphina. That turnout was even crazier than I expected. But you handled it perfectly. You were incredibly professional. Amazing job."

Seraphina managed a faint smile, a thin layer of nervous sweat coating her palms. It would be a lie to say she wasn't terrified, but she hadn't let it show.

"Thanks for running interference for me, Julian."

She paused, acting as if she had just had a revelation, her eyes widening. "Dominic, do you think she's just a puppet? Maybe the real boss is afraid of taking the fall for something, so they shoved her out front to act as a shield. If things go south, she's the one who will take all the blame. She doesn't know anything about this business; they could be using her and she wouldn't even realize it."

Dominic finally pulled his gaze away from the closed door.

He pressed his lips into a thin line and said coolly, "It's highly likely."

Cynthia studied his expression before adding, "Maybe... you should warn her. She is still Lily's mother, after all. If she gets into serious legal trouble, it'll ruin the child's future."

Dominic scoffed, his eyes devoid of any warmth. "She chose this path herself. If she crashes and burns, she deserves it."

Cynthia lowered her head, hiding the triumphant smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth.

She expertly pivoted the conversation, her tone dipping back into distress. "By the way, Dominic, since we lost the Zenith partnership, what are we going to do about the new electrical energy project?"
