Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 136

Cynthia tightened her grip on her purse strap, her smile faltering completely.

Dominic's face also turned grim.

His voice carried an underlying, chilling threat. "Mr. Shaw, you're overstepping."

A half-smile remained plastered on Julian's lips.

"If that's the case, then you shouldn't interfere with me either."

He turned his head to look at Seraphina. "Don't be afraid, Seraphina. Go ahead and buy it."

Seraphina's lips curved slightly as a rush of warmth filled her chest.

Dominic clenched his fists tightly.

Cynthia felt immensely wronged, and deeply infuriated.

She glared fixedly at Seraphina, unable to fathom why Mr. Shaw was defending her so fiercely. What right did she have?

Finally, she sniffled and tugged at Dominic's hand. "Dominic, never mind. Let's just pick something else."

But seeing her so aggrieved, Dominic couldn't bear to let it slide.

"We're taking it. The stone hasn't been officially sold yet. Whoever bids the highest gets it—that's just business."

"Thirty million. I'll take it."

His voice echoed with undeniable dominance.

The surrounding crowd fell silent, not a single person daring to interject.

The corners of Cynthia's mouth finally curved up again.

She glanced in Seraphina's direction, a hint of smugness in her eyes.

Julian frowned and reached over to roll up his sleeves, just about to call out a higher bid when Seraphina placed a hand on his arm.

She shook her head at him, then took a half-step forward herself. "Forty million."

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.

Everyone could see it now—these two were locked in a direct clash.

At this point, the unwritten rules of the trade didn't matter. The two sides had essentially declared open warfare.

This was going to be a good show.

Dominic stared at Seraphina, the coldness in his eyes deepening even further.

Her tone was sincere, her eyes brimming with concern.

Seeing her act so sensible and wronged only fueled Dominic's blazing fury.

How could he allow the woman he loved to make such a compromise?

He raised his head. "Five hundred million."

The words landed with a deafening impact.

Suppressed gasps erupted from the crowd.

Five hundred million—no matter how exceptional this raw stone was, that number had completely divorced reality.

The owner's hands were shaking so violently that he barely dared to hold onto the stone.

Seraphina's expression remained completely unfazed. Without even turning her head, she called out, "Five hundred and ten million."

The venue went dead silent.

Everyone realized the truth. This was no longer about buying a stone.

It was a standoff to see who would blink first.
