Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 139

Seraphina froze for a moment.

Wait, was he complimenting her?

Had he witnessed that whole scene just now?

Looking at Gideon's habitually stoic face, she remembered the end of the recent networking event, where he had stood before her and said, "You performed exceptionally well today."

Why did he always seem to be secretly watching from the shadows?

He was surprisingly nosey for a billionaire.

Seraphina chuckled inwardly but quickly realized this wasn't the time. She reigned in her amusement and put on a serious face. "You flatter me, Mr. Cole."

Gideon's expression remained aloof. He turned his head, casting his gaze over the lingering crowd, and spoke in an even tone.

"The mall has recently added this gemstone section. I hope you all enjoy your shopping experience."

He paused, his demeanor growing notably sharper. "However, I suggest we avoid any further incidents of malicious price-gouging."

Seraphina's eyelashes fluttered.

Was he calling her out?

Was she being publicly reprimanded?

She lowered her head and stayed silent.

Cynthia's face immediately lit up.

She turned her head, exchanging a quick glance with Dominic, entirely unable to suppress the smirk on her lips.

Seraphina was being scolded; it looked like Uncle Gideon was genuinely angry.

This uncle of Dominic's was no ordinary man. Now that she had invoked his wrath, there was no way Seraphina could withstand the fallout.

Now she just had to sit back and watch Seraphina crash and burn!

Dominic's face grew even darker, his icy glare firmly fixed on Seraphina.

The crowd exchanged uneasy glances. Some cast furtive looks at Seraphina, clearly sharing the assumption that Gideon had been targeting her.

Gideon's gaze remained glacial. He waved a hand, signaling for the crowd to disperse.

As people began to filter away, Seraphina tightened her grip on her cloth bag, desperate to escape this chaotic drama. But just as she took a step, Gideon's voice rang out from behind her.

"Ms. Sinclair."

Gideon's expression instantly frosted over.

"Who are you?"

His voice was heavy with crushing intimidation.

Cynthia's smile stiffened, and she instinctively shrank back a half-step, losing all courage to speak.

Seeing this, Dominic stepped forward, shielding Cynthia. He spoke in a measured tone. "Uncle Gideon, this is Ms. Ross, a friend of mine."

Gideon's gaze turned even colder.

"Since she's just a friend, she shouldn't be calling me 'Uncle Gideon.' Don't claim relations where there are none."

Dominic looked up, his lips parting, but no words came out. His face flushed with deep embarrassment.

Watching this unfold, Cynthia hid behind Dominic and bit her lip. Her face turned chalk-white, and she didn't dare utter another sound.

Observing the exchange, Seraphina felt a slight sense of awe.

It turned out Gideon Cole was a man of strict principles.
