Cynthia Ross stood there, trembling with anger.
Dominic Lockwood stepped up and looked at her. "Cynthia, don't take it to heart. Come, I'll take you to pick out some rough stones. Whatever catches your eye, I'll buy it for you."
Cynthia looked up at him and nodded.
Dominic led her toward another exhibition area.
Relying on her professional expertise, Cynthia selected three rough stones, totaling over a hundred million dollars.
Dominic didn't even blink and swiped his card directly.
Watching the three stones being bagged up, the corners of Cynthia's lips finally curled upward again.
So what if Seraphina Sinclair spent fifty million dollars? Dominic turned around and spent a hundred million on her—double the amount.
She lifted her head, casting a distant glance in Seraphina's direction, the frustration in her chest mostly dissipating.
Seraphina didn't notice the gaze.
Accompanied by Gideon Cole, she browsed through all the rough stone shops in the mall.
After a full loop, there wasn't a single piece she found particularly suitable or exceptionally good.
Aside from the material she had just picked out for old Mrs. Lockwood to make a jade bracelet, she couldn't find anything better.
If it were anyone else, she wouldn't have minded, but since it was for Beatrice Cole, Seraphina wanted to pick something of high quality.
Unfortunately, there was nothing.
She stopped, thought for a moment, and looked at Gideon. "Mr. Cole, the quality of the stones in this mall is pretty average. If you trust me, I have a few leftover scrap stones I collected a while back. One of them is quite good, and I can sell it to you."
Gideon didn't hesitate. "Sure."
Seraphina dug through her cloth bag and placed the scrap stones on the display counter one by one.
She scanned them and her gaze landed on a fist-sized stone with rough skin but a cross-section that revealed an oily luster.
"This one is the best."
Unable to change his mind, Seraphina nodded. "Alright then, whatever you say, Mr. Cole."
The group headed toward the cutting area.
The cutting area was set up in a corner on the fifth floor of the mall, with several stone-cutting machines lined up side by side.
As soon as Seraphina arrived, she saw Cynthia standing in front of the middle machine.
Three rough stones were laid out before her. None of them were small, their skins were smooth, and they clearly looked expensive.
The crowd surrounding them murmured that they looked like high-quality pieces.
Dominic stood beside her, a hint of pride in his expression.
The master cutter had already sliced open the first stone. Water washed over the cross-section, revealing a grayish-white base with only a few faint green threads barely showing any translucency.
A wave of laughter rippled through the surrounding crowd.
"This stone looked promising, and this is how it turns out?"
