"Money down the drain. It's totally normal."
The second stone was cut, and it was still a sea of grayish-white. There wasn't even a single green thread.
Cynthia stood there, her fingers clenching tightly.
The third stone was cut, and a bit of translucency finally showed through. The master cutter wiped the cross-section and examined it closely.
"It can barely yield a few small pieces. Estimated value, around five hundred thousand dollars."
Someone in the crowd couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Spent a hundred million, and only cut out five hundred thousand worth. What terrible luck."
Cynthia's face turned deathly pale.
Dominic's expression darkened slightly. He took a deep breath, stepped forward, and comforted her, "It's fine. We'll just buy more next time."
Cynthia nodded, unable to hide the regret lingering in her eyes.
Even if it wasn't her money, seeing a hundred million dollars go down the drain still made her heart ache.
Gritting her teeth, her gaze uncontrollably swept over toward Seraphina.
Seraphina had nothing, still clutching that ragged bag, and in her hand was an unbelievably ugly rock.
The discomfort in Cynthia's chest vanished significantly, and she couldn't resist speaking up.
"Seraphina, offering this kind of scrap material to Mr. Cole is quite inappropriate, don't you think? It really lowers his status."
Seraphina turned her head, looked at Cynthia's mocking face, and let out a small smile.
"You spent a hundred million dollars, and I haven't seen your status elevate either."
"You..." Cynthia's face darkened.
Dominic's eyes narrowed dangerously, and he prepared to step forward.
But upon seeing Gideon Cole and Julian Shaw beside Seraphina, he slowly inhaled and restrained himself.
Seraphina turned and handed the stone to the master cutter.
"Sir, please cut this one for me."
The master cutter took the fist-sized rock, turned it over twice, his face devoid of expression, but a hint of disdain clearly visible in his eyes.
He looked down, pulled out his phone, and turned to Seraphina. "Give me your payment QR code."
Seraphina didn't act coy. She unlocked her phone and brought up the code.
Gideon scanned the screen, his gaze pausing for a moment on the name displayed.
'Prima.'
His eyebrow twitched imperceptibly, and his smile deepened.
He didn't say anything, just looked down, entered the amount, and pressed confirm.
Seraphina's phone vibrated immediately, a notification popping up on the screen: Received $15,000,000.00.
The surrounding crowd was in an absolute uproar.
"A fifty-dollar scrap stone turned into fifteen million! What kind of insane luck is this!"
"What luck? That's having an eye for it! Look at that large piece she picked earlier. Bargaining it down to a million was the real deal. That's true professionalism!"
"She's a prodigy! That's what a real expert looks like!"
