Gideon's tone remained cool and objective. "No need to thank me. I only care about results."
Seraphina nodded. "Mr. Cole, I'd like to cook for Beatrice for the next week."
Gideon glanced at her and gave a short, affirmative hum.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Seraphina stood up. "I'll get out of your hair, then."
Gideon rose as well. "I'll have someone drive you home."
Seraphina didn't decline. "Thank you."
On the ride back, her phone buzzed. It was Chelsea Sterling.
"Where are you, babe? Come out for some late-night food."
Seraphina leaned back into the plush leather seat. "Can't make it. I just left CEO Cole's house."
Chelsea's voice instantly pitched up. "That's spicy! What happened?"
Seraphina gave her a quick rundown of everything that had transpired.
Chelsea practically shrieked on the other end. "You snagged a massive contract just like that?!"
"He said he's sending a team to inspect the factory first," Seraphina clarified.
"That practically means it's a done deal." Chelsea clicked her tongue. "Your brother's operation might be small, but it can definitely pass an inspection."
Seraphina lowered her eyes. "I know. I'm well aware I leaned on a personal favor to get my foot in the door, but since I had the leverage, why not use it?"
"Once Sinclair Microtech signs with The Cole Group, Dominic will have to think twice before he tries to mess with my brother again."
Chelsea laughed warmly over the phone. "That's exactly the kind of mindset you need."
A soft smile touched Seraphina's lips. "Chelsea, help me look for a storefront. I want to buy a place to open a restaurant."
Chelsea let out an intrigued sound. "Are you planning on—"
"Yes," Seraphina confirmed quietly.
"If there are no issues, draft the contract. Send it over and have Sinclair Microtech sign it."
Myles was internally floored.
When had his boss become so sentimental?
He wasn't even sure if that was the right word, but the old Gideon Cole would have never signed a contract with a small workshop like this.
The man was usually ruthless and decisive, scrutinizing every single penny of a deal and refusing to waste even a fraction of their resources.
Yet now...
Pushing his astonishment down, Myles made sure not to let a hint of emotion show on his face.
"Understood," he replied. Then, remembering something else, he added, "By the way, Boss, we also uncovered something else. Sinclair Microtech had been negotiating a partnership with Belmont Industries for a couple of months. The contract was all but finalized, but Belmont abruptly pulled the plug unilaterally."
"They ended up signing with a subsidiary under Lockwood's. The bizarre thing is, that subsidiary already has its own microchip materials factory with plenty of capacity. They could have easily handled the volume internally, but out of nowhere, they partnered with an outside company."
"It looks an awful lot like they went out of their way just to steal Sinclair's deal..."
