Gideon Cole's expression hardened, all warmth vanishing from his eyes.
"Draft the contract, but don't send it yet," he instructed.
"The Cole Group Business Gala is in two days. Notify Zachary to attend, and we'll sign it then."
Myles paused, momentarily caught off guard.
In all his years working for Gideon, he had never seen the boss turn a signing ceremony into a public spectacle.
Signing at an event like that was essentially stamping Sinclair Microtech with The Cole Group's seal of approval.
Was Mr. Cole planning to publicly back the Sinclair family?
Knowing better than to pry, Myles nodded. "I'll get it ready right away."
He turned and left the office, shutting the door behind him.
Gideon gazed out at the skyline.
It seemed Sinclair Microtech's previous partnerships had been sabotaged.
If Seraphina Sinclair had come to him, The Lockwood Group had likely backed her into a corner.
Lockwood's reach was undeniably vast if they could cut off the entire material supply in Northport.
But his own reach went much further.
His gaze grew sharper as he looked toward the distant horizon.
At the institute, Seraphina was organizing the afternoon's data reports when her phone rang.
It was Zachary.
She answered, and Zachary's thrilled voice poured through the speaker, brimming with unrestrained excitement.
"Seraphina! Cole's just called me!"
Seraphina's grip tightened on her phone.
"They want to officially partner with us! They invited me to sign the contract live at The Cole Group Business Gala in two days!"
"Did you hear that, Seraphina? The Gala! I couldn't even get past the front doors in previous years, and now they want me to sign a deal there!"
A wide smile had already spread across Seraphina's face.
By moving the signing to the gala, Gideon was telling the entire Northport business circle that Sinclair Microtech was under his protection.
From now on, anyone looking to mess with Zachary would have to think twice.
"I heard, Zach. Congratulations."
Clara had been running this stand for years.
Back when Arthur fell ill, Zachary went through his hardships, and Seraphina was still in school, the entire family survived on the income from this humble cart.
"Clara," Seraphina called out, stepping up to the stall.
Clara turned, her eyes lighting up. "Seraphina? Why are you here so early? Have a seat! What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you."
Seraphina didn't sit. Instead, she jumped right in to help Clara, greeting customers and clearing plates, happily losing herself in the rush.
Clara's cooking was incredible, keeping the stand packed until they finally finished the last order.
It was still early, but Clara decided to stop taking new customers so they could go home and cook for Seraphina.
The two of them walked through the front door and headed straight for the kitchen.
Arthur and Zachary soon arrived, both thrilled to see Seraphina there.
Arthur even dug out his liquor cabinet, insisting they needed a drink to celebrate her visit.
Seraphina watched the lively, chaotic warmth of the room, her smile growing wider.
Once dinner was ready, everyone helped carry the plates to the table.
Seraphina went to her bag, pulled out a key, and handed it to Clara.
