Seraphina bypassed the side lounge and continued down the corridor.
The hallway led to a secondary banquet hall where the crowd was much thinner.
Just as she debated calling Zachary again, she looked up and stopped in her tracks.
Dominic was standing just a few feet away.
Standing ramrod straight in his dark gray bespoke suit.
Seraphina scowled.
Talk about terrible luck.
Without a second of hesitation, she pivoted, intending to take a detour down a side path.
"Seraphina."
Dominic called out, stopping her.
His tone was characteristically domineering, dripping with absolute entitlement.
"Hand over the suit."
Seraphina blinked, thrown off.
She assumed he was aggressively demanding his own clothes back.
She instinctively glanced down at her outfit. From head to toe, there wasn't a single thing on her body funded by the Lockwood family. She had bought it all herself.
She tilted her chin up and shot him a withering look.
"What suit? Are you out of your mind? You think you can just take things from me?"
Dominic frowned and pointed at the garment bag in her hand.
"That suit. Didn't you bring it for me?"
Seraphina scoffed. "In your dreams."
Dominic's face darkened.
"You know perfectly well that's the only brand I wear."
Seraphina paused. "Oh, right. You've been wearing these suits for over six years. Pay up."
Dominic was bewildered. "What?"
"You've been wearing these custom suits for six years," Seraphina said boldly. "But have you ever paid a single dime for them? Settle your tab."
In the past, she used to personally tailor suits for him on a regular basis.
The first time she made one, he was utterly disgusted that it was handmade rather than a luxury designer piece, calling it cheap and ordering her to never embarrass him like that again.
From then on, she simply sewed Amie labels into her custom designs, which was the only reason Dominic had happily worn them for six years.
Dominic's face twisted into an even darker scowl.
Snatching his phone out, he scanned the QR code.
Seraphina glanced down at her screen, a satisfied smirk curling her lips.
As Dominic pulled his phone back, he caught a glimpse of the payment confirmation, his brow furrowing hard.
The recipient was listed as the official Amie corporate account.
He snapped his head up, staring at Seraphina with utter shock in his eyes.
How on earth did she have access to Amie's official payment portal?
But then logic caught up with him—it had to be Chelsea's doing.
With the Amie boutique located in Chelsea's mall, it wasn't too far-fetched that she had hooked Seraphina up with a merchant code to process the transaction.
Banishing the thought, he glared coldly at his ex-wife.
The frost in his eyes returned, heavier and sharper than before.
"You're a complete psycho, Seraphina."
"Don't get too full of yourself."
"You will pay the price for this."
