Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 168

And colluding with Cynthia, no less.

Cynthia had told her to 'get it done' and that everything was 'set up perfectly.'

What exactly were they planning?

Seraphina's heart pounded frantically against her ribs.

She spun around and bolted through the banquet hall like a madwoman, abandoning all pretense of composure.

Zachary.

Where are you?

Seraphina sprinted through every conceivable area until she finally reached the back gardens.

Grabbing onto a doorframe, she gasped for air.

That was when she spotted Tristan.

He was standing just a few yards down the stone path, his gaze fixed on a nearby cluster of bushes as if he were waiting for someone.

Seraphina opened her mouth to call out, but Tristan noticed her first. He shot her a quick glance before immediately averting his eyes.

The shift in his demeanor was glaringly obvious.

He looked guilty.

A knot tightened in Seraphina's chest, and she closed the distance in three long strides.

"Tristan, have you seen my brother?"

Tristan hesitated for a split second, his tone flat. "No, I haven't."

"That's a lie," Seraphina demanded, locking eyes with him. "You know exactly where he is. Please, take me to him."

Tristan met her stare for half a second before looking away again.

"I honestly don't know."

Seraphina clenched her fists, ready to push him harder, when a bright voice rang out from the side.

"Seraphina! I ran into you again!"

Seraphina turned to see Vivian emerging from the bushes, cradling a freshly clipped bundle of flowers.

Tristan took a deep breath and led the way deeper into the garden.

At the very back of the estate sat a wooden greenhouse completely swallowed by overgrown vines. The lighting was dim, and the door was slightly ajar.

Faint shuffling sounds echoed from within.

Seraphina lunged forward and kicked the door open.

The interior was pitch black, but the open doorway allowed a beam of light to spill inside.

A sickeningly sweet, chemical scent hung heavily in the air.

Seraphina's eyes scanned the room, immediately locking onto the corner.

Nadia was crouched right next to Zachary.

The straps of her evening gown had intentionally slipped down her shoulders. Her hair was heavily tousled, her face flushed red as her fingers reached out to undo Zachary's collar.

Zachary was slumped against the wall, trembling uncontrollably, his eyes completely glassy and unfocused.

It was blatantly obvious they had both been heavily drugged.
