Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 205

Tristan frowned deeply.

"Harvey, that's completely out of line. Drop the ridiculous terms."

Harvey waved him off, totally unbothered.

"It's just a competition. There have to be real stakes to make it entertaining."

He turned his venomous gaze back to Seraphina.

"What's wrong, Seraphina? Worried you're going to lose?"

"If you drop and beg for mercy right now, I might consider letting you off easy."

Seraphina scoffed. "The race hasn't even started. Why would I surrender?"

Harvey let out a mocking laugh.

"I hope you're still this confident when you're choking on water."

Tristan stepped forward to protest again, but an arm blocked his path.

Dominic's expression was completely unreadable.

"They've agreed to the terms. Stay out of it."

Tristan clenched his fists, still wanting to intervene and shut the whole thing down.

Seraphina caught his eye and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Tristan, don't worry about it."

Tristan blinked, feeling the tight knot of anxiety in his chest inexplicably loosen.

Standing by the edge of the pool, Cynthia maintained her flawless, aloof exterior, though a dark, vindictive thrill danced in her eyes.

She glanced at Seraphina, her lips curling into a triumphant smirk.

Today, she was going to crush Seraphina under her heel once and for all.

Taking a deep breath, Cynthia secured her hair tie and stepped up to the starting block.

Seraphina calmly walked to her own lane, rolling her wrists to stretch.

Staring at the shimmering blue water, a faint smile graced her lips.

Before the Sinclair family relocated to Northport, she had spent her childhood living with her parents and brother in a coastal town.

She had literally grown up diving into the ocean waves, mastering the water before she could even ride a bike.

This tiny, manicured pool was nothing more than a puddle to her.

Even though the swimming race was thrown together on a whim, they had structured it professionally.

They started with a series of preliminary heats, and Seraphina breezed through every round until she found herself lined up next to Yvette.

Yvette's lips were pressed into a thin, bloodless line.

She had originally planned to put on a spectacular show, but she was horrified to realize Seraphina was incredibly fast.

The whistle blew, and they both dove into the water.

Yvette thrashed frantically, spinning her arms like a windmill, but Seraphina sliced through the water, leaving her in the dust.

He had absolutely no idea Seraphina even knew how to swim, let alone at such a competitive level.

Tristan's eyes were locked unapologetically on Seraphina, his gaze burning with undisguised admiration.

Meanwhile, up on the second-floor observation balcony overlooking the deck, a tall, imposing figure stood leaning against the railing.

Gideon rested both hands on the glass, staring down at the woman by the water, a subtle, captivating smirk playing on his lips.

Myles stood respectfully behind him, sighing deeply in his own mind.

The Boss was supposed to be in the middle of closing a massive corporate merger in the VIP lounge, but during a brief intermission, he had somehow heard that Ms. Sinclair was in the vicinity.

He had instantly declared he needed "some fresh air."

He had been breathing this "fresh air" for nearly an hour and showed zero signs of returning to his meeting.

Myles cast another glance down at Seraphina.

He felt like he was witnessing a glacial iceberg finally melting for the very first time.

The whistle was just about to blow.

Harvey's gaze darted anxiously between Cynthia and Seraphina.

He could clearly see the sheer panic hidden in the depths of Cynthia's eyes.

His forehead creased into a heavy frown.

There was no way Cynthia was going to lose to Seraphina, right?
