He glared at him. "If she hadn't managed to fight that thing off, she could have been seriously injured or worse."
Dominic's gaze chilled, his tone infuriatingly level. "But she wasn't, was she? Harvey is a member of the Cole family, and this is Cole territory. If she destroyed someone else's property on their turf, she should pay for it."
Tristan let out a disgusted scoff. "Dominic, she is your wife."
He violently shoved Dominic's hand off his shoulder and stepped toward Harvey. "Harvey, explain exactly how that snake got loose. Did you completely fail to secure it, meaning your deadly pets are just roaming around waiting to attack someone?"
Harvey's face twitched nervously. "I... I don't care! Snakes get loose! But Seraphina was maliciously vicious enough to just slaughter it!"
Yvette chimed in eagerly from the sidelines. "Exactly! Tristan, stop protecting her! Seraphina is just a psycho. Look at all of us standing here—did anyone else violently murder a pet? She came to a party and killed someone's beloved animal. She needs to get on her knees and apologize right now."
"Yeah, she should apologize," a few voices echoed from the crowd.
"You people..." Tristan's expression turned murderous, an imposing darkness rolling off him.
However, he was completely outnumbered, and the mob was entirely ignoring his logic.
Wrapped in a plush towel on the periphery, Cynthia watched the disaster unfold with a cool, detached gaze, totally unable to suppress her gleeful smirk.
She couldn't wait to see who on earth could possibly save Seraphina this time.
Seraphina tightened her fists, just about to unleash a verbal beatdown of her own.
"Are you all done screaming?"
A deep, dangerously quiet male voice cut through the mob from behind.
It wasn't loud, but it instantly terrified everyone into absolute, dead silence.
The crowd parted automatically like the Red Sea, allowing Gideon to stroll through.
Harvey saw him, and all his aggressive bravado shattered instantly. "Gideon..."
Gideon stepped into the center of the clearing, sweeping a dead-eyed gaze over his cousin before taking a tablet from Myles. The screen was playing a highly incriminating video.
The footage was crystal clear.
It showed the exact, uncut moment Harvey handed off the bag and ordered the staff member to dump the snakes directly into Seraphina's lane.
Harvey's face went completely ghostly.
"Gideon, I... I didn't tell him to do it. I mean, I just talked to him! That doesn't prove I gave the order!"
Harvey's lips trembled violently, his face turning an ugly shade of purple.
His face remaining completely stony, Gideon pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Auntie. Cut off Harvey's trust fund allowance for the entire month."
Harvey's eyes practically popped out of his skull. "Gideon! I..."
Gideon shot him a single, emotionless look, and the rest of Harvey's protests lodged firmly in his throat like broken glass.
He knew perfectly well that Gideon never made empty threats. If he argued for even one more second, he'd be broke for a year.
He ground his back teeth together, ducking his head as his fists cracked with suppressed rage.
From the corner of his eye, he shot a venomous, hateful glare directly at Seraphina.
This was entirely her fault.
Gideon turned and walked over to Seraphina. His gaze lingered briefly on her soaked, shivering shoulders. "Are you alright?"
