Seraphina stared at the screen for a long time.
Over a hundred million dollars.
Dominic Lockwood was certainly generous.
She locked her phone and leaned her head back against the couch.
The image of Dominic sitting in that black sedan, watching impassively as she and Arthur were shoved into a van by a gang of thugs, flashed through her mind.
He had sat in his car, simply watching them be taken away by those men in black.
Seraphina closed her eyes.
She didn't know the full extent of his involvement, but she knew he was well aware of what was happening.
That cold, calculating man had just sat there and let them be kidnapped and dragged off to The Delta.
What an absolute bastard!
She cursed under her breath, her eyes snapping open, a dark intensity pooling in her gaze.
Sitting up straight, she grabbed her phone and methodically pieced everything together.
How did Drake's men pinpoint her exact location? How did they know about her mother's shop, and how did they track their exact route ahead of time?
That level of intel required an insider.
Charles had slipped away cleanly, but he didn't actually have the connections to pull something like this off.
The real mastermind pushing the pieces behind the scenes was someone higher up the food chain.
Seraphina clenched her hands, pulling up a specific data file on her screen.
Arthur's confidential research wasn't something the average person could access.
The pool of people with the clearance to see it—and the motive to use it against him—was incredibly small. It was easy to narrow down.
It pointed directly to her biological father, Alistair Lennox.
His suit was wrinkled, his tie hung loosely around his neck, and heavy dark circles weighed under his eyes.
The moment he saw her, his expression hardened, and he shoved his way inside.
"What the hell are you trying to do? Are you trying to destroy our family? Don't forget, you're a Lennox too."
Seraphina looked at him calmly. "Mr. Lennox, barging into my home in the middle of the night to throw accusations around is highly inappropriate."
"Cut the act!" Alistair pointed a trembling finger at her. "Are you going to look me in the eye and say you didn't leak those files?"
Seraphina didn't deny it.
She spoke with agonizing slowness. "Since you know I did it, you should also know exactly why."
Alistair's face faltered for a second.
Seraphina stared him down. "My father's classified research wouldn't have just slipped into a competitor's hands by accident. Your company had direct ties to his former institute. You had the access. If you hadn't been pulling the strings behind the scenes, they never would have been able to target him so precisely."
