Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 231

After swapping the broth, Seraphina Sinclair headed straight for the security room, knowing the guard on duty had a notorious weakness for alcohol.

Using a burner phone, she mimicked the butler's authoritative tone and told him there was an open bottle of liquor waiting at the other end of the corridor, urging him to help himself.

Without a second thought, the guard abandoned his post to grab the drink.

Seraphina slipped into the security room and seamlessly synced the surveillance feed directly to her phone.

Afterward, she left to purchase nutrition suitable for old Mrs. Lockwood, ground the ingredients into a fine powder, and returned to the Lockwood estate.

Her phone had already captured the entire sequence: Mrs. Lloyd serving the soup to Beatrice Cole, and then returning to her own bedroom to stash the remaining medicine.

Armed with the freshly ground powder, Seraphina entered Mrs. Lloyd's room and swapped out the toxic packet.

With everything handled, she manipulated the security footage to cover her tracks, took a deep breath, and retraced her steps toward the exit.

As she rounded the corner, a voice called out from behind her.

"Stop right there."

Seraphina halted; she didn't need to turn around to know who it was.

Dominic Lockwood stepped out of the shadows, his expression icy.

"Didn't you say you were leaving? Why are you still here? Can't bear to tear yourself away?"

Seraphina scoffed. If she had known he was lurking around, she would have walked to the ends of the earth just to avoid this corridor.

She turned to face him and asked directly, "Did you have anything to do with my father and me being kidnapped and dragged to The Delta a few days ago?"

Dominic's gaze was frigid, his tone even colder.

"What if you know? What if you don't?"

Staring at his emotionless face, Seraphina suddenly felt foolish for even asking.

"Forget I asked," she said, turning to leave.

"Seraphina," he called out.

She stopped.

Dominic closed the distance, towering over her with a predatory gaze. "It's time you signed the divorce papers. I'll increase the settlement to fifty billion dollars."

Seraphina maintained her composure, offering no verbal response.

Dominic drew in a breath, his gaze darkening.

Sensing he was about to speak again, Seraphina calmly cut him off. "I'll think about it."

With that, she turned and walked away.

Dominic lit a cigarette, leaning against a pillar, and kept his gaze fixed on the direction she had vanished for a long, quiet moment.

"Dominic, did you talk to her?" Cynthia Ross stepped out from a side path, wrapping her arms around his and asking softly.

Earlier in the banquet hall, some oblivious guest had asked why Mrs. Lockwood wasn't present.

Sitting right next to Dominic, Cynthia felt as though she had been publicly slapped across the face.

Unable to stomach another bite, she had fled the dinner table.

Dominic had chased after her.

Faced with a teary-eyed Cynthia, he had promised right then and there that he would finalize the divorce with Seraphina as quickly as possible.

That was why he had sought out Seraphina, demanding her signature.

And now, Cynthia was here for the results.

Dominic glanced down at her, his lips pressed into a thin line.
