Cynthia swore internally that she would absolutely not let Seraphina get away with this.
She shot Seraphina one last venomous glare before rushing to keep up with Dominic's long strides.
Dominic was walking so fast she practically had to jog to trail behind him.
Seeing the two finally leave, Seraphina withdrew her gaze and let out a soft breath.
She looked across the table at Gideon, her tone sincere. "Thank you."
Gideon casually picked up a piece of food. "What are you thanking me for? I simply stated a fact. I genuinely dislike people who are unfaithful in marriage."
Seraphina pressed her lips together and took a bite of her own food.
She couldn't help but muse to herself that while Gideon was ruthless in business, his moral compass was infinitely straighter than Dominic's.
Whoever ended up marrying him would probably live a very good life.
When she realized where her thoughts were drifting, a faint, involuntary smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
After dinner, Seraphina bid Gideon farewell and returned to her apartment.
She tossed her bag aside and curled up comfortably on the sofa.
Her phone vibrated.
It was a message from Chelsea.
Seraphina pursed her lips and typed back: "Keep tracking them. No rush."
Moments later, she received a few short video clips and photos from Chelsea.
This time, the intel was focused on her mother-in-law, Winifred.
She had been keeping a low profile lately, doing nothing but indulging in exorbitant shopping sprees and parading around with designer bags every day.
As the camera zoomed in, every shopping bag clearly displayed top-tier luxury logos.
Chelsea sent a voice memo, unable to hold back her complaints:
"Babe, your mother-in-law is living the dream—shopping, getting spa treatments, and sipping high tea every single day."
"When you were living at the estate, she scrutinized every penny you spent, but now she's burning through cash like it's nothing. It's disgusting."
Seraphina's expression remained perfectly flat.
Watching the footage of Winifred stepping out of the beauty salon, a thought suddenly crossed her mind.
She pressed the microphone button. "Chelsea, let's go spend some money at La Belle Salon & Spa."
Chelsea paused. "Babe, what are you plotting? Are you really treating me to a spa day?"
Seraphina's lips curved upward. "Yeah, my treat."
Next door, Winifred was dozing off during her facial when the constant murmuring from the adjacent room started grating on her nerves.
"Go shut the door, that noise is obnoxious," Winifred ordered the attendant.
The attendant murmured an apology and moved to close it, but right at that moment, Winifred recognized Seraphina's voice.
Her eyes snapped open.
Seraphina was here?
How dare she? This place was exorbitantly expensive. What right did she have to show her face here?
Seeing the attendant about to shut the door, Winifred frantically grabbed her arm, signaling her to freeze.
She then perked her ears up, straining to listen.
It really was Seraphina!
Her voice wasn't loud, but in the tranquil environment, every word carried clearly through the crack in the door.
"I've recently finalized all the details regarding the division of assets."
Chelsea asked, "How's it looking?"
Seraphina's tone was brimming with absolute certainty. "When Dominic and I divorce, I won't lose a single dime I'm entitled to. I demand half of his wealth, if not more. I have all the documentation ready, and my lawyer has already confirmed our strategy."
