Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 240

She was feeling incredibly miserable. All the other kids had their mommies and daddies to pick them up, but she didn't. Her dad hadn't spoken to her in days, and it had been even longer since she had seen her mom.

Grandma had even told her to eat outside and not come home just yet.

She was really, really unhappy.

Seraphina stood rooted to the spot, taking a slow breath as a heavy knot formed in her chest.

The nanny noticed her, standing up in surprise, and politely called out, "Mrs. Lockwood."

Seraphina waved a hand dismissively. "There's no need to call me that anymore."

Hearing her mother's voice, Lily's head snapped up.

The moment she saw Seraphina, her eyes lit up. She slid off the chair and took a hesitant half-step forward, looking as though she wanted to launch herself into her arms.

But her feet abruptly stopped.

She stood frozen, both tiny hands gripping the hem of her shirt, staring at Seraphina from a distance.

Seraphina pressed her lips together and averted her gaze.

She walked over to the table, glanced at the food, and calmly asked the nanny, "Are you always bringing her out to eat now?"

The nanny shook her head and answered honestly.

"Madam Winifred instructed me to bring her to The Fernwood Estate today to see you, but she specifically ordered me to delay taking her inside. I thought it was going to be a long wait, so I figured I'd bring Lily here for a quick bite so she wouldn't go hungry."

Seraphina's hands instantly clenched into tight fists.

Winifred had specifically instructed the nanny to delay bringing the child.

It was all designed so that the moment Lily walked into the estate, she would catch her own mother in bed with another man.

Did Winifred ever stop to think about the psychological trauma of forcing a child to witness her mother lying next to a violent stranger?

What kind of deep-seated, blood-boiling hatred did Winifred harbor to treat her with such unprecedented cruelty?!

Seraphina squeezed her fists so hard her nails nearly broke the skin of her palms, her legs turning weak beneath her.

Sensing her distress, Chelsea quickly stepped forward and held her up. "Babe, it's okay. We got out. It's over."

With that, she grabbed Chelsea's hand and turned to walk away.

Lily's face instantly crumbled in disappointment.

She puffed out her cheeks, glared fiercely at Seraphina's retreating back, and muttered under her breath, "Bad mom."

The nanny couldn't help but shake her head with a sigh.

Seraphina's footsteps faltered for a fraction of a second, but she drew a sharp breath and kept walking.

Chelsea couldn't stomach it anymore and looked back at Lily.

Though she was following right behind Seraphina, she paused, turning fully to face the little girl.

Lily was currently pouting and sulking, but noticing Chelsea's intense stare, she instinctively snapped her mouth shut.

Chelsea took a deep breath, marched right back over, and bent down to look Lily dead in the eye.

"Lily, Auntie is going to tell you a few things."
